I've been thinking of getting the pilums and the longspears (whatever they're called), but wasn't too sure about it. How long's the pilum in comparison to the standard spear that your spartans are holding? Thanks

Anyone knows the best available price for the rancor pit at the moment? Located in Adelaide if that makes a difference.. -
Brickforge Savage Mask too tight - won't separate from head.
nivremis replied to KingPixels's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Get an old torso, apply a thin coat of varnish (nail varnish works) on the neck, let it sit and just before it's fully fully dry shove it in the head, wait a sec and pull. If the head gets out, it's easy enough to remove from the varnished neck as you'd have enough group on both elements to "break the bond" -

I'd say if you're in no real rush, and are willing to fork out chunks of dough at a time, go on bricklink, find a seller with a few that you want and get it shipped in, it tends to work out cheaper than trying to get it here, even on sale. (did for me anyway) -

nivremis replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
Yes it totally does. Thought I had plenty of time after posting my intro about 2 weeks ago, but now that the deadlines creeping nearer and nearer I'm still swamped at work. Sigh tiny builds here i come.. -
Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
nivremis replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
It is in the darkest times that one finds the truest friends and allies. I am Nivre, and these indeed are dark times. I am on a quest, but where to, I know not. The only thing for sure is that the answers I seek lie within the rocky ranges beyond Mt Mitgard. As such, I humbly ask safe passage from the kind inhabitants of this land, and in return you have my word that when the time is right you will not find me ungrateful. Hello everyone. Looking to join up with Mitgardia, (for those of you who missed my very very brief intro in the main thread - http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=80640). Had a bigger backstory in mind, but figured I'll rather try to get something for Challenge 6 out by the weekend first (don't hold your breath, I'm pretty much new to the whole business of Moc-ing and also have so so limited bricks ) Edit: yes that is the tree from attack of the wargs -
Masa's right, motivation to build for this challenge - 0. Awesome builds, love love love the castle landscape

When darkness sweeps across the land, Choking life with blight Come forth from fabled Angel's Peak A hero of the light. Born a mortal, child of dwarf, Clad in shining faith, With heaven's hosts by his side, He'll vanquish evil's wraiths. As foretold by the prophecy of old, Nivre was born a dwarf, but that remains all he knows of his heritage. Ever since he could remember, he'd been raised in Angel's Peak, a sacred temple of light hidden high in the mountains, mentored by 3 of the greatest paladins of the era. One night, he'd awoken having dreamt of wandering in a world shrouded in darkness. When he had told his mentors, they'd exchanged knowing looks and told him of the prophecy. Within a month, he'd made ready to leave Angel's Peak to seek out his destiny.. I've been a lurking in these forums for a long time, having only really gotten out of my dark ages not too long ago. I've been in awe of many of the awesome mocs i've seen here and I'd love to be part of it all. As it is, I'm still deciding on a guild to join, what's holding me back's a low brick count (what you see here is about 95% of my usable bricks as it is). This is also my first real moc (rainbow castles almost 20 years ago aside ).

Mm no regrets painting the hoods at all, especially considering how cheap brown ones are on BL. Now now just start with one hood... Just one measly little piece .. a minute with a can of spray and you're done....
-
Thank you all so much for the kind encouraging words, certainly didn't expect this many positive replies. I AM torn between kaliphlin and mitgardia, but I guess I'll work it out. ' For those who were asking, the white hoods are just some dodgy brown ones I'd painted over. Oh and: Just had a shave but it'll probably grow back soon I'm guessing

Awesome build, really captures the moment perfectly, the calm before the storm. I'm wondering, the guy in the second last picture, the one perspiring with the bow, where's his head from.....?

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
nivremis replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Awesome news, particularly since my bricks are still en route to me. Question though, is anyone in nocturnous still....alive? -
So. Much. Win. Love the wine pouring out of the little tube into the barrel.
-
Thanks for clarifying, no rush for me to put in my custom pieces order then

I'm just wondering, as it is I'm not in any particular guild, do I have to be to participate in this challenge? I'm living somewhere new, have really limited bricks, a few more should arrive sometime next week, and I might try to squeeze something off. Also, how much customization on figs is allowed (decals, painting, maybe some cloth and glue?) Thanks (:

Hello fellow singaporean. I'm new here too, but hey welcome!
-
Hey there. I'm just sitting at my computer trying to get some work done, so naturally I've decided that there's no better time to introduce myself on a forum I've been lurking on for awhile... Anyway, I'm from Singapore, but am currently residing in Australia, doing a postgraduate degree while tutoring for my uni. 26 this year, came out of my dark ages about 3 years ago for 3 months or so, but suffered a relapse shortly after. Picked up the Unexpected gathering set in November though, and since then I've been enjoying this childhood love. I'm into Castle and Fantasy mostly, but with a slight interest in the modular building series. I'd love to be able to moc up castles and the like, but as it stand I'm very limited in the amount of loose bricks I have so I've more recently been customizing minifigs with paints and decals, nothing fancy though. Anyway, hi. Yeah. Time to get back to work

Thanks for the welcome guys. Brickington: Yea it is Megabloking expensive even for the current ones, let alone those that have been retired. I might stop at the 3 I have (sure... )

Ooh awesome why have I not seen this before.... Great technique, the flow from the top of the first row of buildings to the second is just done beautifully.
