LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
dieselboy m replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Hey all, my apologies if these have been reviewed to death here already, but I just got eight packs and have posted a review video. So, if anyone's interested... Thanks. :) -

In the e-mail ad, there's a line "Get Stuck On LEGO Star Wars May 3rd and 4th!" I wonder if that's just for the magnets, or a teaser something else.

Congrats on the Brute Chopper, it's definitely a great set, one of my favs from the line. Now... I have almost every set from the first series, and some from the second, and I swore to myself I'd produce reviews of them. Unfortunately, aside from the Limited Edition Steel Spartan, I have reviewed none of them... I'll TRY to get around to them some day. Hehe...

A case of them are on pre-sale at Entertainmentearth.com - http://www.entertainmentearth.com/prodinfo...?number=LG8683A

Why do people buy new sets and never open them?
dieselboy m replied to Ambo100's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I'm 32, with just a part time job, a long distance girlfriend and no kids. You'd think I'd have all the time in the world to build my sets, but they still somehow pile up. Probably partly 'cause I've got about a billion hobbies and special interests, and I usually aim to make reviews of the toys I buy. But, I procrastinate on those a lot 'cause making reviews takes quite a bit of time and effort. -
I bought one at a LEGO Store here in Southern California last week. Among all the random pieces was four of the Max minifigs. For me, that was already worth the 8 bucks.

Yeah, those two stood out me instantly, I have them. They were the seasonal Impulse sets at Target during Christmas. -

Thanks for giving us an early look, can't wait! And I've also been wondering the same thing, has there been any confirmation as to whether these will be sold at mass retail or exclusive to LEGO Stores?

Review: Fairy Minifig Key Chain
dieselboy m replied to dieselboy m's topic in General LEGO Discussion
After removing the pin, just the head and hair piece is removable. The legs, I believe, are glued on. I didn't want to risk ruining it, so I didn't try to pry them off. Yeah, I think it's TLG's miscellaneous title for the key chains. I've seen some others in the past with the Classic title that also weren't previously seen (or even later released). Yeah, I'd want a new Paradisa as much as anyone else, but I also doubt this key chain would be indicative of any forthcoming girl-oriented themes. This isn't the first of its kind, and it won't be the last. There have been other key chain minifigs that were unique and not from a previous theme (or released in a theme later on). So, take 'em for what they are, I say... And at least we've got the Collectible Minifig Collection to look forward to. You definitely should. -
BrickArms Modern Combat Pack Photo Review, Commentary & Real Steel
dieselboy m replied to dieselboy m's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thanks for the feedback, all, I really appreciate it. Thank you very much. And yeah, I don't know if anyone has previously provided side by side comparisons of BrickArms with the real guns, but being a bit of a gun enthusiast it's something I like to do and thought I'd put it out there for others to see in case they'd take interest to it. Thanks a lot! To be honest, I always feel awkward talking into the mic. But, I've really taking a liking to making video reviews as opposed to just written reviews. A bit of entertainment value there. Although, I choose to still use photos as opposed to straight video so that you can see the products in better detail and light than if it were just video. I get what you're saying about the brickish feel. Some BrickArms look more like they could pass as an official LEGO accessory, whereas some are too detailed or too close to realistic proportions. Thanks! Well, as much as I love BrickArms, the way I look at it is, for the most part, you do have to be a fan of guns to be a fan of BrickArms (at least the majority of BrickArms that are based on real firearms). Otherwise, I'd imagine one would be content with the gun offerings from TLG for their LEGO gun needs. Either that, or one is a LEGO purist, so even with an interest in guns, they wouldn't be inclined to use BrickArms. But, I would definitely recommend giving them a try, I can't imagine you'd be disappointed. -
Caught this on Attack Of The Show. Weirdly interesting...

BrickArms Modern Combat Pack Photo Review, Commentary & Real Steel
dieselboy m replied to dieselboy m's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Thank you very much, LuxorV. I actually didn't know that could be done. Glad you like the review though. I'm not new to BrickArms, but it is my first time reviewing some BrickArms pieces. I was just so impressed with the set. I also just got my Army Men Weapon pack which I'll be reviewing soon, as well as a few assorted BrickForge pieces.
