[Contest] Space Pirates - Back to the Carribean Galaxy!

    It was a pleasure!
  2. 41c was finally attacked and overrun by galactic Pirates. All of the crew members died, were captured or sold to traveling alien armadas for lunch or entertainment. Here are some of the tragic fates : Lunchtime! The Pirates are using 41c to hide their enourmos treasure of Goldtitanium: ... and to party in between the raids: They ripped of the old landing pad and installed an 200 mt Fusion Cannon "Singing Elfriede" from an old Imperial Dreadnought. They are sending fake distress signals and if a spaceship responds to, it will be shoot down... Capt'n Redbeard on the bridge... Elfriede is reloaded. 2 Pete "NoNeck" is transporting ammo to feed Elfriede - which is a hungry beast... For close combat, a Friz Gun was put on the jet coaster:
  3. The most feared Pirates in this sector are called Black Angels and are a gang of females, mostly former soldiers, sailors and bounty hunters... Harpye Hannah, Pirate Captain. Over 200 confirmed kills. Silent Sabine. Master Pilot. Was never catched by Space Police. PunkPink. Chief engineer. Red Dead. Former Marine. Boarding specialist. Hata Mary. Undercover Specialist. Fast Lizzy. Weapons Specialist

  5. Space Station 41c. An older modell if the standard space station, but still in good shape. It was a slow solar day at 41c. Nothing seems to disturb the daily routines. The Fusion reactor ran smoothly, radiation levels like usual. Alpha Black One with the ExoUnit taking out the trash. Blue One having a short nap... Orange One enjoying the old transportation system... (Choo-Choo..) Nobody expected the terror of violence, unlawfullness and unlimited creativity that would hit 41c in the next rotation - be prepared!

[Contest] Space Pirates - Back to the Carribean Galaxy!

Hello! I'm fine with entering a piratefied space station as Cat C, though I think if you take 21322 as an example, a wrecked spacestation would also be applicable for Cat B. So its ok to post the Space Station before the arrival of the pirates as WIP? " The original set must be recognizable, with key features, shapes or functionnalities for example" In my opinion this puts a too strong restriction on the creativity. Does that include a piece count? Most islands and outposts in the classic series have just 100-300 parts... I interpreted Cat B to built a MOC as to take the idea óf a classic pirate set (a pirate hideout, a pirate or imperial battleship, etc.) and transfer it into a space theme. Taking 10210 for example: Key features: A propulsion system (sails) - ok, Solar sails, I got it. 4-8 Cannons - no problem. A bridge, a lookout, a kitchen, Captains Room - also no problem Shape: A spaceship can't have the shape of a sail ship if, by any means this moc should make sense at all. Big problem. Functionnality: Firing Cannons, Anchor whinch, crane, Decks can be opened. Somehow solveable. So if I fullfill 1) and 3) but fail at 2) - would this be within the rules?

[Contest] Space Pirates - Back to the Carribean Galaxy!

Gentlemen, my plan is to build a modern version of a ground space station like 6970 and then to "piratify" it (think of 6253). So I just finished the space station - showing a standard space station, peaceful and stylish. They just don't know what will happen ... My question - can I post this moc as a) seperate MOC with its own topic in the space forum outside this competition b) start a [SPC-Cat B] - Topic as a WIP Moc - but with expected numerous modifications after the pirates arrived c) Don't show it at all....

    [MOC] Moon-o-Rail Station

Great build! I love the flower decorations on the moon. I will need those species in my room also, because I always forget to water them ;-)
  14. The EVIL GALACTIC EMPIRE has fallen. However, sinister agents are already at work to undermine the fragile peace. Piracy and Fragments of the Dreeded Imperial Fleet are threatening our trade routes. The High Command of the New Republic is struggling to gather forces to secure the main trade routes. All Planets and Species are needed to fight for our freedom and wealth -all of us, no matter if you are tired of the battles against the Imperium, the Faction Wars or even the Clone Wars. We were tasked to build a fighting fleet, travel to Terminus and the Hydian Way and the Corellian Trade Spine. Though I am not your Commander, I would suggest that in remberance of the glorious Blue Squadron of the Rebellion we mark our ships also with a blue colour scheme of your choice. Through friends of mine on Corellia I was able to purchase a heavy fighter/bomber which was planned to replace the BTL-B. To balance our fleet I would like to know which ships you try to get in service? And lemme know if you need help for parts - Ex-smuggler always have very good contacts.. Like Uncle Han would say: May the force be with us. If you believe in these things... General "J9" Solo

    Entry: 1795 Imperial Cannon Battlepack

Well, my idea was to built a small wooden Fort in the middle of a jungle with as an Imperial Outpost like Fort Foster in Florida. But - same here - time was running out and I had to improvise. Thanks for your nice comments and precise critics!

    ENTRY: 1871 Pirate Canon Battlepack

Many thanks for your nice comments, gentlemen. Yes, I would have loved to build more things around this cannon: A small fortification, some real pulleys, a crippled wall, some palm trees - but in the end time was running out and I had to focus on the "Le Scorpion". I think I will keep the cannon after the contest and build a little scenario around it - just for fun..
  19. Damn. The flag upside down is my fault. The kids played their first battle with it and I did not check the flag before taking photos. No I am sure the Grand Admiral will take notice and my fate is to end on the knees in front of a Gilloutine! Yepp, Sails were an issue. I tried to make it somehow looking like a sloop: https://www.arbeitskreis-historischer-schiffbau.de/mitglieder/modelle/schaluppe1834/ but I could only use the sail cloths from older ships. So I had to improvise - no historical or technical accuracy gramnted. Thanks for your wonderful comments!

    Review: 10197 Fire Brigade

INDEXED Hello! Few days ago, I just put "Lego 10197" into the ebay search link - and found a german lego seller who offered it. You guess what happened next. Here is my (maybe not perfectly technical focussed) review: Name: "Fire Brigade" (which is more a british term, or?) Theme: Exclusive Sets Year: 2009 Pieces: 2231 Minifigs: 4 x a dog Price: € 149,99 1. Introduction For me, this is my first set form the Exclusive Town Series (Green Grocer..). "Normally" I'm building Space or the create simple City buildings for my kids. But the overall design and the theme (old US-Fire Station) really got my attention. 2. Box and contents Front of the box, showing front and back of the building Back of the box, showing details and an expensive streetline... This is what you will find inside: and this is how the instructions look like: No stickers. Just a picture of the 10199 (UCS Super Star Destroyer) on the back side. Nothing really exciting yet. 3. Here we go - the Engine. It all starts with the Fire Engine. To be straight - I don't like it and while I'm writing it I gave it to the kids - what normally ends in total destruction within 40 Minutes. (I'm so proud of them ;-) Although the design is fine and fits to the building, I didn't find any similar Midi Pumper on Google which looks like this thing. It has some nice features, but the overall is not satisfaying. ( At least me) How put to minifigs on a 6 studs wide vehicle: The Dashboard is also very neat: Backside with two yellow fire extinguishers (in yellow - never saw one in yellow in real. Normally they are Mmmmm Chrome)suction hoses, two hooks (?) and a "ladder" - which is 2 studs higher than a minifig. Front with a nice bumper and a chrome cooler cap. The Red Emergency light is open on top - what happens if its raining? The yellow technic thingie is the pum inlet, I guess. 4.1 First Floor Ok. Now its getting interesting. My first exclusive town building.. A lot of tiles for the entrance and front side ;-) , nearly no tiles in the back or in the building inside ;-( Mayor: "3 ? 3 ???! We just have one station in this city? Who told you to build two more stations?" Chief: " Errrrr. Just, wait, the big depression will be over in a few years...) I must admit, that building the walls with the millions of little plates and parts is very, very exhausting.. And yes the helmet holders are grey frogs. BTW: If you kiss a grey frog... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jansued/10197/frog1.jpg PUFF .. you will get a fireman instead of a prince: The bay door (in Red !) is perfectly designed, although I'm not sure if they had this type of doors in 30's.. You see no gap from the "street". Also the SNOT-Window on top the bay door is a great detail! If you are looking for not-so-good details to point out: The inner side of the front wall . One reason why I'm sure that the des desginer actually never was an active firefighter is the slide pole: 1. It's yellow (Mmmmm chrome ;-( 2. There is a rocket piece on the ground. This will hurt some very special parts if you slide down.. In the back, there are some black doors and a back entrance. The little roof can be detached. And there is some "Grass" (Green Plates) and "Mud" (Brown Plates). Come on - this looks like the DUPLO Zoo... Finally, you have the two emblems above the windows: A golden helmet, an Axe and a Hammer (?) on a red background. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L ! Then you have to yellow edge-protection-poles, a white street lantern, two lights and an US-Flag above the bay doors. Yes, US-Flag - so what. Please show me the "typical" European Fire Station in the 30's. In Germany, at the end of the 30's there would be real ugly flag and the engine would be green... And there is a Alarm box in front - just in case the company is on a call and a citizen reports a fire. Or if a citizen wants to cheat the society - he/she pulls a false alarm. But especially in front of a fire station this is a very bad idea... 4.2. Second Floor. The star of the second floor is the furniture, no question. But: No table? No Beds ? No Shower or Lavatory? Not at least one of those elements? You have a kitchen and a sofa: my favorite: a fridge, with two cans of water and sausages. Design: All thumps up! a Ping-Pong-Table ( I never saw one in a US-Fire station...): The kitchen is also very well designed: An oven, a sink, boards... On the other side, there is big brown sideboard: The front wall was also a challenge for me: Lots of little plates and tiles. And some "Stuck" above the windows with a new building technic. 4.3. Roof. The absolute design climax is the "1932" which is made from a lot of little tiles and some technic parts: I guess this took forever to develop and right now there are running some mentally damaged naked designers through the floors in Billund, Danmark while there shouting 1932 loudly again and again.. For the Bell tower they used a Belville Arc - great idea. But even better: there is bat under the roof. A wonderful detail. For me. The bat himself will have sleeping problems in a heavy fire season... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/jansued/10197/1932-2.jpg The Bell himself is made from black and golde parts and is attached to a hook inside the roof with a new part: two studs connected with a little rope. Oh, I just notice that I don't have a picture from the finished roof. I will add it later.. 5. Minifigs and leftovers Not much left from 2231 parts. I would have used different heads with different expressions. And the guy with the long blond hair needs a haircut. This is a public service and not the beach! 6. Overall Rating Yes, I will put it in my office. Let the guys think what they want. I'm not an expert in architecture and technical questions - so there is enough space left for another review. But the overall design of this set really hits the point: This is an old fire station from the 30's which - from my experience belongs to the picture of Downtown Anywhere in the US. No question that you can improve or add some details - tiles on the floors, a better fire engine, but the existing details are really oiutstanding Playability: 9/10 - While it is not a play set, you can do a lot with it - see Part II of my review. Design: 9/10 - Colours a great, Design is great - nearly perfect. But just "nearly" - so just 9 Points. Put tiles on the floors, add grass, flowers, improve the tree and add a Bed and a table - then it is a 10. I will do those things and put it here int the next days. Price: 10/10. Ok, its worth it. Or maybe its just that I meanwhile got used to those overprized SW-Sets? Overall: 9,33/10 - definitely a must-have for firefighters. And - it's inspiring. I will start no to improve it, then add a Tiller Truck and chiefs car , then buy the green grocer and built a fire scene and and and. Please also have a look an Part II of this review.....
  21. This has come to an end. Now. For ages, those arrogant folks from classic space expanded through every part of the universe and contaminated every planet with their stupid smiling faces and absurd colorful space suits. As if everything belonged to them! To stop and protect our mines and other investments Blacktron Securtiy Services created a new ship class - the Dark Terminator (DT1). DT1's main Laser, a rotating SuperRed Energy Beam Typ 4 can cut through every shield and every armor at the market. Additionally an array of projectile guns added fire power with different variants of explosive subspace ammunition. For close encouter space dogfights against smaller ships DT1 can deploy two armored drones, for ground missions a suicide UGV could be send through every kind of energy shield. If -and we dont think that it will ever happen - our pilot has to abandon the ship, the cockpit can be detached and will automatically jump to the next Blacktron Security Facility. But again, this will never really be necessary. So, all you light bluish, yellow, red, brown, white and black space clowns - be ready to meet Lt. Major Gunilla and her DT 1.... 20230218_100352 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr 20230218_100450 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr 20230218_100817 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr 20230218_100826 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Detachable Escape Pod 20230218_101036 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr 20230218_101045 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Cockpit 20230218_101725 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Weapon Station 20230218_100538 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Longrange Space Rocket and Heavy Torpedo 20230218_100702 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr UGV 20230218_100734 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Drones 20230218_101559 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Retracted Landing Gear 20230218_101421_001 by Jan Südmersen, auf Flickr Blacktron Pilot

    Classic Space Era Spaceship Contest

Just to make sure: In the new Blacktron GWP Set https://www.lego.com/de-de/product/blacktron-cruiser-40580 there are dark grey connectors. So it would be ok to use dark gray at a Blacktron MOC up to a limited amound for greebling?
