REVIEW: Indiana Jones 7199 The Temple of Doom
Talon Karrde replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Licensed
While I think that LEGO has done an outstanding job on the accuracy of these minifigs I will not be buying this set. Great review! -
The 'Megsuo' was introduced into the Haviddian Space Corps in order to defend Havidd colonies in the outer sectors from the growing numbers of privately owned, rogue capital ships. Its dense armour plating made from cadium composite technology stolen during the Insectoid Wars made it the perfect assault fighter; it is still in service today. Brickshelf Gallery I have been wanting to build something like this for months. Long term admiration of Hase0's work pushed me to try this animé style of fighter myself. If I have not succeeded in that, I think I have succeeded at least in building something different. In other news, it is just over a year since I came out of my dark age, I feel that I have come a long way... *cough* Enjoy Eurobrickers. :-)

Mighty is he, ruler of ancient mountains, born in the stone womb of the world. Fun with articulation :-) Enjoy, Eurobrickers.

Return of Adventurers?
Talon Karrde replied to Sir Norman Ray's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It would compete with IJ, so no. -
Vig. 63c Thirty six years to the day Since my comrades sailed away Now, lonely Here I forever stay... This was really meant to just be an experiment in tiled water rather than SNOT because I often find that working SNOT water into a MOC can be tricky, especially with a large dio, and it makes moving for photography even trickier. Tiled water works great IMO and I don't know why people don't use it more often. Enjoy.

What Lightsabre Hilt do you like the most?
Talon Karrde replied to Tim Bit's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I voted straight bley for both, haha, this was because I absolutely loathed the bley hilts with the star wars sets when they came out, they didn't match with my other chrome ones and I couldn't see why LEGO had to change, cheapskates... However, straight bley hilts are much more multi-purpose and work really well as greebles and gun barrels on starships, so they are both good and bad... -
Cheers peeps, and about the guns, picture them horizontal, it was really that I had to photo it like that (the fighter in ground mode, resting on the guns but in the air I picture it differently, I mean when I'm swooshing it ) so I don't know... Also, they do pivot as they are connected with one of these so they do rotate a bit, I'm usually not that good at building fighters either so I was really pleased with this, thanks again for the C&C.

The T-34 was an incredibly successful fighter during it's service in the Auroran Space Navy due to its immense practicality, the combination of heavy armour, powerful engines and advanced maneuverability capabilities made it far superior to all it's competitors, however, the tendency for the nuclear reactor to overload and fry the pilot made it impossible for the continued service of this fighter and it was succeeded by more expendable droid piloted fighters. B-Shelf This is my entry for the Starfighter contest on Flickr.

Receiving Transmission This is an urgent call for help, our forces are being overwhelmed, CIS operatives are active in the Aelis system. Our escape is cut off, they have blockaded the planet. Requesting a frigate and a legion immediately, they’ve overrun our command centre and my padawan has fallen… They re too many, I am pulling my troopers back into the desert, maybe we can buy some time in the dunes but… I don’t know… Transmission Terminated Enjoy.

What I was trying to do with this small scene was emphasize the urgency of the retreat, in my opinion, more action is sometimes unnecessary when trying to portray a simple and striking message, having carnage and droid bodies everywhere on a small vignette like this tends to confuse the action, rather than enhance it. Also I did not want to make this any bigger because it was only a five minute build, something to pass the time, yanno? There's not really anything more to see that isn't in this photo if I'm honest with you Yeah, I see what you mean but I was going for simplicity and I wanted to emphasize the barren-ness of the godforsaken rock that is Aelis Minor The blood really was just for dramatic effect, and did not Jedi occasionally use blasters in emergencies, I can think of one example *cough*DeathofGrevious*cough* and the idea was that the Jedi had just retrieved the blaster from the fallen clone in front of him in a desperate, last ditch, all in defensive engagement. Glad you all (sort of) liked it, I always like a bit of controversy over my MOCs

Power Miners Contest on YTV!
Talon Karrde replied to Da Death Star!'s topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
How is that possible? All you have to do is copy and paste the url, then you have a link. So don't just say you can't, learn! Everyone has to at some point. -
Well, EU would be grand but what 9 year old reads that stuff? TLG can't just depend on AFOL or TFOL star wars fan sales can they now?
-
Well, while I was present for most of the line, I missed what in my opinion appeared to be the development of the potential of the theme, sets like "Battle at the pass" http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/8813-1 the minifigs seem much cooler in this set, the designs still suck though. Good value too, lots of figs.

Are you joking me? This has to be some kind of sickening joke! Why would they deny the UK? Why? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

The guard is winching up the cage in preparation for the new occupant (the troll) and the wall is not black, it is dark green, to represent moss on the walls or slime (because of the river) Thanks for all the comments people!

The river Ilweyr snakes through the luscious, fertile valley, making it a seemingly tranquil place. But the mountains which brought the meandering river also brought death. Out of them, like minions of the underworld, the trolls came too. Small villages were unable to defend themselves against such ruthless evil. However, as time passed one small village began to thrive as the numbers of traders coming through their gates from the Great Salt Routes of the East increased. Soon the small village became a town, with enough resources to defend itself. It's population increased dramatically as people from surrounding villages left their vulnerable homes to make their fortunes in the safety and security of the Market Town. With the discovery of Gold in the mountains the Goblins were driven almost to extinction by an invasion of the gold-hungry Dwarves. Brickshelf Hope you have enjoyed my MOC, I intend to do more profiles on the town if this one is well recieved and i have enough time.

My first MOC - "The White Flag" - Caribbean Tavern
Talon Karrde replied to freakristall's topic in Pirate MOCs
Really nice work here, your style is awesome, and for a first MOC this is great! Tiles can be used but the rugged effect you have achieved here works even better in my opinion. The pictures probably didn't work because on a forum post there are special functions that have to be used to embed pictures, you can find these buttons when creating your post.
