These are adorable! I love how you kept all the original functions, and smaller vehicles, too!

Just my (second) version of the iconic ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Black Pearl with shadow test by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Square-rigged, Three Masts, 22B The stern: Black Pearl 2 (4) by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Here is a comparison shot with my old one. Well, more like, two pictures from the same angle stuck together, as the old one is long gone. Black Pearl Old vs New by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Comments and criticism are always welcome to port! For all those familiar with the Star Wars Legends Expanded Universe, you will probably recognize this ship. For those of you who don't go look it up! Thanks for all the comments! The interior was quite simple, but I quite like it too. i want to add a bit more stuff in the "hanger bay" area. Yes, those are Mirax and Talon Karrde. At first, yes, only the tip was red, but eventually, he got the whole thing painted.

So, some of you may know that I have a Lego Pirate web-comic, and a point is coming up where I will need a port, and since the old port has long been demolished, I am starting a, rather large, project. After a week, this is what I have so far: Hurricane Bay 001 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr The whole thing. Hurricane Bay 004 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr The six sections that will make up the wharf. Hurricane Bay 005 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Yellow Frog Tavern. Hurricane Bay 007 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr I really don't like this little fort. Will definitely need to redo it. Hurricane Bay 006 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Just half of MMV expanded. Hurricane Bay 008 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Currently working on the Magistrate's office In case you didn't notice, the whole thing is modular, for a variety of reasons. First, easier to store and even build. Second, if I need to access a certain building for inside photos, I can simply remove the desired section, instead of trying to work around buildings. Thirdly, it is much easier to add or destroy a building. Need a buidling which I don't have? Build one? Need parts from this one? So long, sucker! And Fourthly, maybe I could make it a stander (Like Moonbase, but for pirates!) and use it at a con. Well, thanks for looking! EKnight

How large? It will be two layers deep, three if you include the wharf. One layer of 32x32 modules, one layer of 48x48 modules. I can't really spare the parts to make another white building, my white collection has been rather sucked dry, thanks to a very large Blacktron 2 spaceship. For now, the Fort shall stay. EKnight

Thanks for the vote of confidence on the fort. I really am not too sure what it is about that I don't like, but something is just off to me. Maybe the pictures give out the details better. Also, I should put some figs and a couple cannons on there some time. Interior pics may have to wait awhile. Not that there is much interior to take pictures of... EKnight

As a matter of fact, a fountain has gone in there. Here are some more pictures. The magistrate's office is now complete.next building will probably be a blacksmith's shop, and after that, on to building generic houses. Basically, it's a mix of the Black Pearl, and the Cross Bone Clipper (Clipper? that thing is properly a dingy...) Front: Cross Bone Frigate (2) by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Principally Square-rigged, Three Masts 20C Stern: Cross Bone Frigate (4) by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr This MOC came about because I wanted to use all those official red striped sails together. As usual, comments and criticism are welcome. EKnight

Well, as said, this is only the beginning. I will be adding things to the dock such as market stalls, lampposts, a crane or two, lots of figs (Hopefully) Some palm trees will get planted, most likely on the sandbar. I actually have never heard of a signal fire before. No, I didn't rob a Lego store to do this project. At least not recently. Going to be gone for most of the day today, so sometime during the week I shall try and take a picture with a ship or two. EKnight.

[MOD] One More Brick Bounty MOD
Elephant Knight replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Pirate MOCs
Best part about this MOD is the raising of the sides. They were just too low, and didn't look all that good. A vast improvement overall! EKnight- 25 replies

Thanks for the comments! Glad to see I am not alone in thinking the colour scheme isn't terrible. I'm not really one for functional steering. Sometime I would like to fill in the cabin with details, but I doubt I will actually do it. Not to mention, I don't really know any good ways to conect the rudder to the wheel. EKnight

I guess I am alone in liking the colour scheme, but the Cross Bone Clipper was my first Pirate ship (I got it way back in 1998 or so, so one of my older sets, to boot) so I have a bit of nostalgia for that ship. More pictures can be found by clicking on the pictures, taking you to my photostream. EKnight

Who had a better colour-scheme? Blacktron 1 or Blacktron II?
Elephant Knight replied to Dannylonglegs's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I voted for Blacktron 2 (anyone who has looked through my MOCs, this should be a surprise) Black, white, and trans neon green is absolutely perfect in my opinion. Blacktron 1 is pretty cool, but I have had a hard time getting the colours to balance right. Others can do it, but I have yet too (Maybe I should actually build more, then) As for lime, NO! I do not believe lime has a place in Blacktron 2. It really doesn't go well with trans neon green, in my opinion. Black, sure, everything goes well with black, and black makes everything look good (Especially when it comes to Bionicles). But no lime with Blacktron 2. There, self proclaimed expert has spoken (Hey, I have a Blacktron blog, I can make that claim!) EKnight- 21 replies

Caribbean Brig MOC (6274 Caribbean Clipper)
Elephant Knight replied to PeroTheLegoman's topic in Pirate MOCs
Definitely has a classic Pirates vibe to it. Would fit it really well with the BSB, or the CC. EKnight- 6 replies

Totally awesome. I recently built a line up of X-men figs, (Though mine are all based on the comic versions) and have been contemplating on building a Sentinal. This has given me more desire to do so. Really like all the purist figs. Eknight

Do you buy extra Canons for your Ships?
Elephant Knight replied to Dosenbrot's topic in LEGO Pirates
i don't buy extra cannons for my ships. But since I buy all those cannons, may as well load up those ships that need em! EKnight -
Are Lego Pirate the worst sailors of all time?
Elephant Knight replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Pirates
Ah, but one should consider this: all the ships are undermanned. Perhaps they are SUBURB sailors, and often get over confident, so they sail their ships one handed, and try and outdo each other, then end in a situation that is just too much, and crash. Perhaps I overthought that..... EKnight -

It really is too bad, but I wanted a hanger bay, as well as the ability to fit it in my car, so alas, no swooshing.
-
Thanks again for all the comments! Lankygit, That would so totally be awesome.
-
Thanks all! I really have no estimate on the amount of parts, or how heavy it is. It is too heavy to swoosh, though that is also due to the fact that it is 3 separate sections.

Well, time to start introducing my (And my two brother's, as they are so intertwined) Bionicle worlds. I shall start with the inhabitants of Geto Nui, and it's leader, Lord Brakkon. GN Lord Brakkon (3) by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Lord Brakkon isn't much of a fighter, he is more of a scholar, but he can still give fight some Toa teams to a standstill. My favorite Bionicle MOC. Also one of my tallest. Only Grooq is taller (See below) GN Brakeum by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Part of his success in conquering Geto Nui from the local villagers, was his decoy, Brakeum (Be prepared for many punny names. I like punny names) GN Zephyr by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr GN Talloop by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr His two Generals, Zephyr and Talloop. GN Slyverr by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr His spy, Slyverr. GN Grooq (2) by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Grooq, a brute with brains. GN Sue She by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Sue-She, a one armed, one eyed, one track mind fighter. GN Gelvar 2 by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Gelvar, the best sharpshooter in the army. GN Argentate by Elephant-Knight, on Flickr Argentate, A native of the island, who joined forces, rather than get destroyer when Brakkon conquered them all. There are still more in the Flickr stream, but they are more boring, and of less quality (I divide my Bioniclde MOCs into three categories, Good, OK, leftovers.I am a bit OCD with Bionicle parts. If i can build something, i do, no matter how ugly.) but if you want to, go look through them.
-
It is a very little known fact that I like Bionicle. and with the new sets coming out, I had had a renewed interest in them. So I dug out all my Bionicle MOCs (All 150ish of them) and took pictures. Since 150 is alot, I broke them up into their armies, as there is a huge backstory to them all, and they all have a specific group to go to. But for now, since it is late, I shall just show you this photo of one of my favorites. He isn't a complicated build, in any sort of way, but I love him. His name is Hanahtu, and he says hello.
