Set# 7672 Set Name: Rogue Shadow Theme: Star Wars Release: 2008 Minifigs: 3 Pieces: 482 Price: AUD: $99 Peeron Brickshelf The Box The Rogue Shadow is the main protagonist's ship in the upcoming 'Star Wars - The Force Unleashed' video game coming for pretty much every system this winter. I've been keeping a close eye on this game and it's piqued my interest, i was a real big fan of the Jedi Knight (Dark Forces) games and this one looks to be a similar kind of game. Anyway, i saw this at the shop and had to buy it, its one of the coolest looking ships I've seen in the extended universe. Mini-Figures Included are Battle Damaged Darth Vader, Juno Eclipse, and Darth Vader's apprentice (He is called 'Darth Vader's Apprentice' on the box, as at the time this set was made, his real name of Galen Marek was unkown). All 3 figures are unique to this set, and they look quite good. I'm a bit disappointed with Galen's hairstyle, however, i wish they gave him a specialized one instead of the generic black hair, as it looks very different to his in-game hair. Vader's battle damaged helmet is actually just the front part of a black scuba helmet: In addition to this, Vader's classic helmet and a captain's cap for Juno are also included, and they look like this: The Ship Flight Mode The ship itself is very cool, it looks very like the ship in the game (at least from the pictures/videos i have seen), and is made to look very sleek and shiny. The ship can be toggled between a flight mode and a landing mode, landing mode turns the wing-tips up and lowers the landing gear, like this: Here's a view from the back The landing mode is a cool little addition, it gives the ship a kind of harrier jet feel, as when the engine is turned upward it gives the ship a hover effect (one would assume) Extras On the smaller side 'spire' there is a compartment that opens up to reveal a small weapon's stash: Which seems a bit unnecessary, as i doubt Galen would have to use blasters, they might just be there for Juno, or he may use them in the game, i am yet to find out. Not like I'm complaining about free blasters (If nothing else, i can use them to replace the awful megaphones my G1 stormtroopers have) On that same spire, further up, there is a missile compartment: The missiles are removable, but don't have any kind of firing mechanism. The larger spire houses the coolest feature of the ship, a big lego technic cannon. There is a little lever on the side that lets you raise the cannon, and it automatically fires when you reach a certain height: Lastly, the cockpit can open up to fit Juno (and ONLY Juno, there is no room for anyone else) inside: Overall Variety of pieces:9/10 - Has a lot of flat pieces, a lot of good long technic pieces, as well as some cool unique pieces, like the round windscreen and the engine housing Playability:9/10 - It would be nice if there was room inside the ship for at least another person (like there is in the video game). Otherwise, it's very fun to swoosh around and play with the guns and the two engine modes Build: 9/10 - It is built in several different parts that are then clicked together with the usual technic joiners. Instructions are easy to follow. Construction: 7/10 - The landing gear breaks off VERY often. The doors that open to the various weapon compartments are also fairly flimsy and prone to breaking off. Minifigs: 9/10 - Three figures that are completely unique. Only downside is Galen's hair. Price: 7/10 - I got it on sale for $70 AUD, but i probably would not pay $99, as the set is not as 'famous' as others. Overall: 50/60 Conclusion: I've always been a big fan of Lucasarts video games, and it is nice to see a good Lego tie in to their latest effort. If the game is half as good as this Lego set is, it's a guaranteed winner :P EDIT: Sorry i don't know how to make this a poll

Product: Jedi Defense I 7203 Theme: Star Wars EP1 No of pieces: 58 Minifigs: 1 Release: 2002 Price: $7.99 Product: Jedi Defense II 7204 Theme: Star Wars EP1 No of pieces: 52 Minifigs: 3 Release: 2002 Price: $7.99 Found these deep in my collection and realized we had no review of them on Eurobricks! Seeings as they are basically meant to go together, i reviewed them together. Also, yes i am aware that i have placed the wrong Jedi in the wrong Set (Obi wan should be in 1 and Qui Gon in 2 instead of how i have pictured them), but i took the pictures before i looked it up on brick shelf. Sorry for the bad condition, i played with them a lot when i first got them :P. Box Shots Taken from Brickshelf as i have long since lost the boxes Mini figures Jedi Defense II comes with Qui Gon and two battle droids. I've heard that this is the only set to contain a red-torso'd 'security droid'. The droids are using good ol' 'megaphone blasters' Here's a close up of Qui Gon Jedi Defense I Has only 1 Minifigure.. Obi-wan. The droideka's are actually brick build, quite engeniously and using no strange or unique parts (apart from a plethora of droid arms). Here's a close up of Obi-Wan Here's a close up of a droideka For the small price and brick count, the minifig count is expected. Although, 3 mini figs in a peice with only 52 bricks (Jedi Defense 2) is quite good. Jedi defense 1 essentially IS mini figures (if you consider the droideka's as minifigs) Jedi Defense II The only other included component in Jedi Defense II is a small door. It slides open using flat bricks Misc Shots Obi Wan and Qui Gon prepare to attack... Obi Wan and Qui Gon stand off agianst 2 droidekas Broken Droid arm... Took it out of storage after a few years and it snapped straight away Overall Variety of pieces:8/10 - Not much, but what do you expect? The plethora of droid arms used in the droidekas, as well as extra guns/binoculars/trans pieces are very nice. The door is pretty standard Playability:9/10 - The opening scene of the Phantom Menace was very important to me, as it symbolized the return (although, somewhat lackluster) of star wars to the big screen. It's very fun to act out the opening scene, which is possible when you combine the two sets. The door is pretty useless, but does at a little to playability, or making vignettes. Build: 7/10 - I can barley remember how it went, but it would not have taken more than ten minutes for each set Construction: 10/10 - While they look a bit ugly, the droideka design is brilliant! The door is also fairly sturdy. Minifigs: 9/10 - Can't complain, even though they are still the old 'yellow' style. IMO, Liam Neeson and Ewon Mcgregor were the only two decent actors in the new Star Wars films, which is why i'm proud to own their mini figures ^_^. Also has the 'rare' security droid. Price: 9/10 - Seven dollars is fair for these tiny sets Overall: 52/60 Conclusion: A very old set, but still a good one. Basically, two small scenes that combine to make a... slightly less small scene, but an impressive scene at that :P

Hi there Aussie lego fans! I've been DYING to get my hands on the new Slave 1 from Lego Star Wars, has anyone seen it anywhere? -
Name: The Temple of Doom Set: 7199 Theme: Indiana Jones Subtheme: The Temple of Doom Year: 2009 Pieces: 654 Minifigs: 6 Price: $129.99 AUD (on Lego S@H Australia) Hi there, here is my quick, lightweight review of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! While Svelte's review was incredible and all-encompassing (how could i top that?), I aimed for mine to be a quick 'What's what' concerning this set. I hope you enjoy it! First off, the front of the box: And the Back: The contents of the box, 6 bags, 2 booklets, 4 curved track pieces and 2 sloped track pieces: The cast of this episode. Left to right, Willie Scot, Indiana Jones, Short Round, Mine Foreman, Cult Member and Mola Ram A close up of the Gaurds: Mola Ram is the real star of this set. His helmet is spectacular, and his shirt AND head are double side printed: A close up of our Heroes, Willie, Indy and Short Round. Willie and Indy are new Prints (well, Indy is only PARTIALLY a new print, as his shirt is a 'new' design as it is missing one sleeve): A close up of Willie. Everything about Willie is new (except for her face, which is from the Shanghai Chase set). New hair mold and new body/legs print: Like the Shanghai Chase set, Willie has a double sided head. Oh noes! Screaming Willie! Grab your ear plugs: A close up of a mine cart. It is designed so that the 'carridge' area can swing back and forth. I quite like the design on these: The first 'Trap'. As Indy and Willie's cart goes past the little lever on the left It swings around, placing planks of wood on the track. This mimics a scene from the movie, where Indy throws planks of wood on the track behind him And the cult members meet their High Speed doom! The second trap. As Indy passes below an abandoned mine cart, he sabotages it Pulling this pin out triggers the trap: Overhead shot of the same scene, showing the 5x1 bley cylinders that drop to crush Indy's enemies: And when the trap is triggered! When i built the set, it was kind of difficult for minifigures with long weapons (such as Indy's sword, or the cult member's shot gun) to fit underneath this mine cart. I made it easier by moving the track a single stud to the right, which you can see here Last of all, there's a cool little features at the end of the track. Here we see Indy furiously trying to slow his speeding cart To no avail! SMASH! It crashes into the barrister at the end, causing it to snap backwards. An overarching shot of the temple. It's supposed to sit over the right end of the track, but it is fairly easy to pick up and move independently. The Sankara stones have a cool little play feature where you can move them in and out of the skulls mouth/eyes. Here they are at the back And here they are brought forward: The knob on the left controls the trapdoor. What i really didn't like was the placement of the trapdoor over the mine cart track. In the movie, the trap door was a sacrificial pit that let to a heartless (pun intended) death of fire and brimstone. In this set, the helpless victim drops down to... a mine cart escape! So of course, I had to move the temple for this shot. Those two cool looking flame pieces at the bottom actually came with the set! Here's a closer shot of them: Here's a couple of vain attempts of me trying to photograph the whole thing. This set is WAY too long! It almost doesnt fit on my desk! This one is better quality, but the end is cut off: Lastly, i received the special edition GOLD minifig Keychain with this set! I think it looks quite cool, and was a nice little bonus ^^. Here's a picture: Here are my final scores: Minifigures: 5/5 - They are all brand new prints (except short round, and partial Indy) and they are phenomenal! Parts: 3/5 - The new track is very cool, but there are not that many other good parts. At times, it almost feels like it is just a mish-mash of random 'left over' parts and colours (such as the base of the temple) Build: 4/5 - I'm not a big fan of building things in order of numbered bags, I'm an old school Lego fan, who likes to put all the pieces in a big pile and sort through them myself. Other than that, it was still fun to put together, very little repetitive monotonous stuff Play Values: 5/5 - You can re-create many key scenes from the movie, plus the mine carts are fun as heck to play with! Price: 5/5 - I was expecting to pay $150 at least for a set with this high piece and mini figure count, but it was only $130! Overall: 4.2/5 - A solid set with few drawbacks, and a great price! It also has a couple of mini figures (Mola Ram, Temple Guards) that are bound to remain exclusive to this set for a long time

Unfortunately, no other faith has the universal marketability of Christianity and Christmas, so i doubt that this would happen. The set looks great! I love some of the cool little things they've done to make it feel more wintry (the backwards bandanna's as scarves). I LOVE the christmas tree, its the kind of brick built thing that really looks unique. If its not too expensive, i'll pick it up. Not a big fan of the light brick in the street light, seems like a bit of a gimmicky-thing so they can drive up the price.

Anyone who missed out on the $299 Dropship and AT-OT, i'm seeing it pop up on ebay regularly for about that much. Also, echo base at $250 makes it only $50 less than dropship + AT-OT! Insane! -

Ha ha, yeah, i couldn't belive it when i opened the box, not to find bubble wrap or packing penuts, but 'packaged air'. Also, i really don't know why LEGO has to ship items from denmark that are available in AUS stores. I mean, items that are currently unavalible (like home one, or the temple of doom) i can understand, but items that are already at retail, they must keep stock of them somewhere in australia! -
However, the Prince of Persia is a video game movie, and as such, is Doomed to fail. Much like the DOOM movie :P. It may surprise me and be good, but i really doubt it will get a cult following

That's a HORRIBLE price. It's more or less the same size (more or less the same damn model) as last years republic cruiser, and that was what, $180 AU? It's disgusting that LEGO can get away with this kind of overcharging, and its happened to so many good sets i wanted to buy this year (Endor, Home One, and now this) I guess i'll just have to wait for % off sales, or hope to find a bargain on ebay. -
Indiana Jones is NOT a dying franchise. It has stood strong for over 20 years, the 4th movie sold phenomenally, and there is a 5th movie in production. Also, Indy has a very large appeal with both AFOL and children (many fans of the OT Indy went to see the new Indy with their kids ^^). LEGO would be shooting themselves in the foot hardcore to cancel Indy in favor of some movie that hasn't even been released yet. Also, Johnny Thunder was a tribute to Indiana Jones anyway, and it was before they could get a hold of the license. EDIT: 100% Agree with Prof1515! You could not have put it better! Indy is a powerhouse of a selling point, with so much untapped potential. There are also a number of fantastic EU Indy sets they could make (The Fate of Atlantis, an excellent adventure game that was recently re-released on steam, for example) I also agree with the horrible Clone Wars statements. Seriously, pirate tank? What were they thinking? I hope this trend does not continue, because as well as that cartoon being bland and uninteresting, the art style is so very, very ugly, making the resulting LEGO sets just as ugly. I would MUCH rather see them make sets based on EU (they kind of dipped into it with the force unleashed set, but i'd like to see some from KOTOR, Jedi Knight/Dark Forces, Star Wars Galaxies ect)

'Odd' shaped minifigs are nothing new, you needn't look further than sponge bob (especially at spongebob himself and Mr Krabs) to see the wonders LEGO can do with minifigs. Mr. Potatoe head will be almost exactly like spongebob, a 'sandwich board' head/chest over a plain brown torso, and short legs. Slinky could be brick built, or they could just take a dog minifigure and split it with a spring in the middle. I'm interested in how they will do the army men, it might end up being like how they did plankton (a single 1x1 printed cylinder) Either way, very excited about tomrorow

Svelte, I had the exact same problem, with figs almost NEVER fitting under the booby trapped mine cart, no matter how i positioned them. My solution to this was to simply move the track back one stud. Now they all fit through fairly easily. This is what i mean: Also Quarryman: With all 3 minifigs in the one cart, it becomes impossible for them to fit under the abandoned mine cart, even if you use my redesign

there are Lego education centers, there's one in Melbourne out by moonee ponds. Not the same as a Lego store, but still has a decent range and some rarities (like key rings and magnet sets) -

Jesus christ, never order from S@H, their shipping time SUCKS! I've been waiting almost 3 weeks for an order, the Indiana Jones temple of doom (which i can't find in any stores!). I mean, it's bad enough that they charge you so much ($35! Ebay would charge half that), but it takes them so long to send it out! Ridiculous. -
why does TLC take, or ask sites to take down pictures of unreleased sets? This is the INTERNET you know, once something gets out there, you simply cannot take it down
-
Well if we have a look at the similar sized republic cruiser, it had 5 figs (Obi, Qui-gon, a pilot, a captain and an astromech droid), however, this could be because it is being cannon, in the actual movie, the cruiser that obi-wan and qui-gon were on was running a skeleton crew. I'd like to see at least 2 rebels
-
The reason these two ships look so similar is because they are MEANT to. The blockade runner is the very first ship you see in EP IV, the first of the OT. In an attempt to mirror that, Lucas made the Republic cruiser the first ship that you see in EP 1, and made it look very similar

I seriously, cannot for the LIFE of me figure out how LEGO calculates it's prices Lets have a look at Fighter Plane Attack and Venice Canal Chase, currently on S@H at RRP Fighter Plane is selling for $89.99 Venice Canal Chase is a whole $30 cheaper, at $59.99 The fighter plane set has 384 pieces, LESS than Venice's 420 The fighter plane set has 3 minifigures (all of which are re-hashed from the previous motorcycle chase set), whereas Venice has FOUR ALL NEW figures, including completely new molds for Esla's hair and the Fez piece! It boggles the mind, by all accounts, the Fighter Plane set should be cheaper, but its a whole $30 more!? What, exactly, are we paying for? Do propellers cost LEGO $15 each to make? -

Ideas for Future Indiana Jones Sets
TheTacoMan replied to Flatfoot Thompsen's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's only ONE indy set that i want, nay, need. We have the iconic opening scene temple from Raiders of the Lost Arc We now have the titular temple from the Temple of Doom We even have the temple of the crystal skull from Kingdom of the Crystal skull (not that i would ever buy it, i'm too much of an OT fan) All we are missing is the temple of the holy grail from the Last Crusade :( I can see this being done in one of two ways, 1.) Set about the size as Temple Escape. Would only be the three 'tests', (The slicing blades, the path of god and the leap of faith) and a small area at the end with the multiple grails. Mini-figs included: Indy, Elsa, Donovan (with double sided head - skeleton/aging face) and Knight of the crusade 2.) A second, much larger set, bigger than the Crustal Skull temple. Would include everything mentioned above, but also a large chamber at the front, which features a floor that cracks apart. The grail chamber would also be bigger. Indy, Elsa, Donovan (with double sided head - skeleton/aging face), Knight of the crusade, Henry Jones, Salah, 2x Nazi Soldiers. I really don't forsee them doing a set that is multiple smaller sets that piece together for two reasons: 1: A lot of people who buy lego Indy are AFOL who can afford large sets 2: They haven't done this kind of thing for AGES. In fact, the Jabba's palace example is the only one i can really think of A few more ideas for sets (just re-watched The Last Crusade) Tank Battle! Is mostly just the tank from the scene where Indy, Salah and Henry go to rescue Marcus. I have NEVER seen an OFFICIAL lego Tank, and it would be definatley interesting to see one. Features could include a side turret that explodes. Could include an additional Nazi transport. Minifigures: Indy (On Horse), Henry, Marcus, Tank Driver, 2x Nazi Soldier (More if transport is included) Circus Train The scene in the prologue, where young Indy battles grave robbers for the Cross of Coronado. Train Carriages included (in order of importance) Reptile Carriage, Lion Carriage, Magic Carriage, Rhino Carriage. If they want to make the set smaller, they can cut one or two of the less important carriages from the train. The lion carriage would have a collapsible roof. The magic carriage would have a 'magic box' with a trick floor in it, so indy can escape. The rhino carriage, if included, could have a lever to make a rhino horn burst through the roof of the carriage. Minifigures: Young Indy (would be a nice change to getting yet ANOTHER stock indy in every single set), Grave Robbers x2, Grave Robber Leader. -

If you watch Ebay like a hawk you can get some amazing bargains (I got the death star for about $500 AU when it was first released, incl shipping) The new INDY TEMPLE OF DOOM set is up there for buy it now $217, i'm very tempted ><. Does anyone know how much it's RRP is going to be in aus? In america its only $89. so i wouldn't expect it to be more than $150 here
