Trading Collectable Minifigs Series 1, 2 and 3
-JD- replied to danim's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Well, I need a Racing Car Driver and a Fisherman. I also need two Gorilla Suit Guys. I have one Elf, and lots of Spartans. I would prefer UK trades, and new and complete quality figures. -
Yes, I did! Yeah, I figured I may as well split the whole lot up into three! The S3 figures were from John Lewis though.

Such terrible news. My thoughts go out to his family. I will always remember him as a very kind and friendly person and committed EB member, and we will all miss him dearly. Thanks for everything Zorro, you will not be forgotten.

This video is truly amazing, and really makes you think. I hope ya'll like it as much as I do: Truly mind-blowing!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
-JD- replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I have been catching up on the latest non-senate episodes recently, and I am quite pleased with the layout and general storyline. I was surprised when the Nightsisters 'upgraded' Savage (who knew he was French?) instead of Ventress training him so he was truly under her influence, and how quickly he changed his mind to kill his friend. Also, the battle scenes were a little 'meh' for the new guy's introduction. They could have added in a few more clones and some vehicles, perhaps an AT-TE Savage could have smashed up like Durge did in the old cartoon series (except he got rid of about a dozen huge-laser-walker-thingies and an entire army of clones too), just to spice it up that little bit more? IMO, if this series wasn't a darn PG and a 12 or 15 instead, like the movies, it would be much more enjoyable to watch. Then again even if it was, they'd probably still use the excuse that the fight scenes are too complicated to make for single episodes. Plus there is the time limit. Speaking of which, is it me, or have the episodes been getting shorter recently? I'm sure they were half-hour to forty minutes before! -
WINTER BREAK ENTRY: Ministry of Magic: Magic is Might
-JD- replied to Sirius Black's topic in LEGO Licensed
Hot dayum. This looks like a possible masterpiece if you do it within the piece limit! -
I added some Fett stuff to the flickr photostream that are too large to post in here. Plus I didn't want to ruin the quality of them by using my crappy editor. Link to my Photostream Some feedback would be great! Thanks!

Ah! Thankyou! I saw the end of catalogue sale stuff, but none of it was interesting.
-
Agreed. Take those pictures. Take them NOW! Went hunting for stuff in Argos today, and found nothing. Looks like I'll have to wait a couple of weeks for new stuff.
-
Definitley agree, but the latter is a much more common hobby than being a TFOL or AFOL. I reckon if LEGO was as common as the game console (in the generations that call others nerdy) and the time people spend on gaming was spent on LEGO, it would be a much more accepted thing to do in free time. Not that I have any problems. There's the occasional douche who says something but everyone else sticks up for me, especially after my animation involving my classmates I showed to the class. I don't go announcing it to every person I meet either, I wait until I can trust them or get along with them before I introduce it, just to be sure.

Wow. And I thought my army of 30 was a lot.
-
Well how did you manage to pesuade them to do that?! That's a good tactic I may have to try.
-
Wow! What a fantastic set! I will definitely get this! The 'Collector Car' is simply gorgeous! All those lovely details and interior features! Great review too! Looking forward to seeing the next Part!

That's right! Maybe it's the computer resolution that is inferior to laptops?

Jabba didn't take too kindly to the ways of Santa Claus; giving him presents he didn't even want and making a fool of his security by entering through the chimneys! So he assigned the best Bounty Hunters in the galaxy to track him down, and bring Santa to him dead or alive. It din't turn out quite as I wanted to, unfortunatley, because of the dim lighting and my editing software. However I think I achieved the 'warm' affect. The original (and hopefully better), but larger, one can be found here. Happy New Year everyone!

Lets see if this attachment works, then you may actually be able to see stuff!

Amen! I just chilled with family and spoke with some freinds afterwards. I reckon London's fireworks were the best! I stayed up until 1.30pm, and just managed to finish building my Turbo Tank before 12pm!
-
Thanks guys. Well, it's weird, because on my screen it's pixelated but I can make out the features. Perhaps your monitors are at a different angle? I'm not sure whether I'm allowed to add another photo anyway.

Lots of food, clothes, and money, as well as: Clone Turbo Tank Fight for the Dagger Public Works Not much LEGO, but ah well.

Wow. A tad OTT for a friendly whack, eh? FYI, I don't wear makeup or have a Hermy doll. Sure, she's pretty, but I don't like her that much! Oh yeah, and a plain flesh torso would work better than that spotty one! I look after myself! Now I'll go make a less offensive one!

Well, here it is! Sorry for the lighting, the camera was different to the one I normally use! Anyway, as you may have seen, Oky likes to think I'm smaller than him. Heck, he even said earlier in this thread! Boy was he wrong! Oky was very excited, he had arranged to meet up with JD while he was on holiday in California. So he went to the meeting place... I will now take you into the mysterious and disturbing mind of Oky Wan Kenobi... PREPARE YOURSELVES MY FRIENDS! "Oh, there's some nice chicks over there. Maybe they'll like my Space Ranger outifit! It is Limited Edition after all. I'll play it cool and lean on those conveniently placed pillars before I say 'hi'." (Not that bad, I know, but the other stuff cannot be put on a forum so open to the little kiddies. ) As you could guess, it didn't go well. So he waited for JD. Oky heard JD's voice, and looked around. The floor trembled, and it suddenly got darker. Was it Zurg's new evil weapon that blocks the light from the sun? No. It was something much worse. Even with his special Space Ranger online training, he couldn't espace the sweeping kick of JD's foot! *BAM* Maybe Oky would be able to visit the moon afterall! Bring it on Space-boy!

I am truly very sorry for the wait guys. As you may or may not know, I'm in my GCSE year and all the Modules and Mock examinations are really affecting my LEGOing for the worse. However, I'm hopeful this week and the next I can continue here on EB as I used to (inbetween revision slots that could be 3hrs at a time! ). Anyway, I'm sorry for making you all wait. I have literally just come downstairs to tell you all I am making my next entry and it'll be up very soon!

Name: 30042 Mini Sub Theme: Atlantis Pieces: 41 (inc Minifigure) Minifigures: 1 Price: £2.49 Release: 2010 Brickset Bricklink I picked two of these up in Tesco yesterday for a good price. The set is very good considering how small it is, and it fits right in with the ret of the sets in the Atlantis line-up! Lets get on with the review... Packet & Instructions: The front shows the Submarine cutting through the deep waters, with the Portal Structure in the background. The back is just lots of writing and a barcode, so nothing too special here. The instructions are standard size for a promo set, and come folded. Here is a picture of the assembly page... The back shows the sets from the first wave. I noticed a difference between the positions of the arms on the packet and instructions. On the latter they are facing inwards, but I think the packet-art looks more accurate. Parts: A good selection of pieces with some interesting highlights... The head is double-sided; one side a happy expression and the other a heart broken expression. Reminds me of Captain Antilles from Tantavine IV! The Build: Not complex at all, but I speak as a TFOL and not a small child. Random stage: This picture shows the use of a white stud in the front headlamp/computer hub. A nifty technique is incorporated half way through the build making the side suports more sturdy. Finished Product: Viewpoints: The back propeller is fastened on by a technic pin. Spares: Who doesn't want a couple of spare studs and a grey technic pin? Ratings: Parts: 9/10 ~ Great selection for a set this size Minifigures: 10/10 ~ The figure is highly detailed, and I can't imagine more than one in a promo, so it's full marks! Build: 8/10 ~ Pretty average build which leads up to a good model, with some nice techniques along the way! Price: 8/10 ~ Could be a little cheaper, but it was still worth it! Playability: 8/10 ~ Good for swooshing and picking up LEGO objects, but nothing much apart from that. Overall: 86% Parting picture; "Fear us, beasts of the deep!"
