All I want to see is Number 12, Grimmauld Place. I was so bummed when they didn't make any sets for the Order of the Phoenix. They could do something really special for the secret base like making part of it with clear bricks because it is invisible to outsiders. Just an idea.

That is my favorite piece of nose art so far. It looks great and I would love to put it on my gunship but it's not quite "kid-friendly," if you will.

KimT I think that would be a great idea. It would be fantastic to see all the amazing artwork in one gallery.

I have to say, the box on the left seems to have droids featured on it in some speeder. There appear to be five figures on the left box, which add to that suspicion, since the only time Lego has given us five figures in a battle pack is when they are droids. That leads me to believe that the battle packs have to do with the Clone Wars again. Much to the chagrin of OT fans.

This is fantastic. I love the hidden weapons and the arcade game.

The Manufactory of the Schizo Viscount of Crowthorne

I LOVE the chandelier. It is fantastic! The chrome pieces are great also. I enjoy the steampunk genre, and this is a great interpretation. -
If this were an official set, I would buy it in a minute. Love the gold gear and the interior of the ship. Very well done.

Thanks much for the information, Erdbeereis! I love your mini-fig with the turban.

I am a bit ashamed to admit this, but I have never been to an official Lego store. I am planning on going to the opening of the new Cincinnati store on the 19th. I have heard that some stores have sections where you can create your own figure out of various parts. Is this standard on all stores? And if so, what is the figure part selection like? For example, could I find recent Star Wars head-pieces among the selection?

If you are into steampunk pirate novels, try the Larklight trilogy by Philip Reeves. They are brilliant reads and very well illustrated. Warner Brothers is making a movie based on the novels due out around 2011. Because of WB and Lego's prior relationship with lines like Harry Potter and Batman, I am crossing my fingers that Lego will make some sets from the movies.

The third island? Fantastic. The drawbridge blew my mind.

Thanks for the review, Faramir. I saw a review of this set on Brickset, which was really negative. That really turned me off on buying this set. However, after your more optimistic review, I think I might have to grab it, which is great because I was really stoked about getting it when we saw the first pictures. Any parts that fall off when moved, or any other weak points that you can think of?

Any information about when the stores in Ohio will open?

Very nice. If this was an official Lego set I would purchase it, which I can't say about many moc's.

I'm lovin that Captain Ama.

LAAT/c hands down. I got up at 7:00am on the Saturday those sets came out to get them both. It was so worth it. But the gunship is so sexy in a non-creepy kind of way.

How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?

Sadly, it's not new, it is just a rerun. Just building the suspense for the sweet, sweet Ryloth trilogy. -

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
djmangunz replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Internet or not, we are all big boys here and I don't think it's too much to ask to show a little respect for others. Back on topic, the Titanium Command Ring is a very impressive piece of work. The wheels are very nice. -

It's rumored to be featured in the Ryloth trilogy. Someone mentioned that you can see it in the Ryloth trilogy preview video at StarWars.com. I didn't see it, but I'm not that observant. -
Power Miners: New Sets for 2009

Now, now, no need to be rude. I haven't paid much attention to this line because I typically follow Star Wars. So the helmet is new to me. How about using a bit more tact when addressing a fellow member, eh? -
In my humble opinion, this is the best looking original series by Lego. Period. If I wasn't already planning on dropping mad coin on the new LAAT/c, I would cop some of these sets.

That blue helmet on the miner looks bananas! -
How did you like the Clone Wars TV series?
djmangunz replied to kill will's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Both of Friday's episodes were a bit rushed and poorly written. Don't get me wrong, I love the clone wars, I just wasn't feeling those two episodes. I suspect that the final episode, number 22, will revolve around Palpy and the death star plans. Lego sets often foreshadow unreleased information in the star wars universe and the Venator set has Dr. Evil in said set, with the death star plans. -

So so sweet. Makes me want to buy a Venator.
