LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

Darth Sion a rancor would be sweet, but with that price tag, I doubt it. I, like you, am still holding out hope for TFU2 sets. The T6 shuttle could have Mace and Obi in it from one episode or Plo and Ahsoka from another. But it does sound like we would get a young Boba figure, if that will make it worth your while. Here is an image, I think it has been linked to before, not sure. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:T6Shuttle-BH.jpg

LEGO Star Wars 2011 Pictures & Rumors

The bounty hunter gunship could be this vehicle. It is seen in the Clone Wars episode Bounty Hunters. It is owned by a bounty hunter (with a heart of gold:)named Sugi. It has some potential. Link: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Halo.jpg I have to say, if the figure count in the battle packs are accurate then the decrease from 4 to 3 figures is quite disappointing. I would be willing to pay an extra dollar to 2 rather than lose an entire mini-figure from the pack. I do find this time to be one of the most exciting times as a Lego collector. There is something about finding that first list of possible sets that feels like Christmas in August.

LEGO Star Wars 2010 Pictures and Rumors

I am going to guess that it might be a bit longer until we hear rumors about the Winter sets. Lego seems to be doing a better job of keeping their upcoming projects a secret. Jedi News always seems to have a list of possible Star Wars sets before anyone else. Of course, Whung is the ultimate source as well as KimT, who always seems to know more than he reveals. Anyway, I am hoping for a new Clone battle pack, with a new style of helmets. And, since I only collect Clone Wars sets now, the only ones I really would like is a remake of a v-wing fighter and a version of the High-Altitude Entry Transport-221 seen for about 3 seconds in ROTS. I would be willing to wait until summer for this set in order for Lego to do it justice with a high piece count. If they could create something as good as Rook's MOC but with a troop bay that would be great. It would be nice to see an Admiral Yularen and Aurra Sing mini-figure from that line with a clone commander like Gree now and them. It seems like they stopped making specific commanders after the sets for the Clone War movie.

    2011 themes and sets?

That was some impressive detective work, great find Vexorian. This line sounds like it could have some great potential. Just speculation, but I think it could have some anime influence to it with a combination of martial arts and mecha, similar to Exoforce. Exoforce was a successful line for the first year or so and we all know that Lego likes to recycle themes that are successful ie. power miners, space police. Anime is a very popular art form right now, with everyone from Lego to George Lucas trying to cash in on it. I could see TLC wanting to make sure they have some sets with a connection to something as popular as anime.

    2011 themes and sets?

I imagine that we won't have much longer to speculate. If I remember correctly, it is normally in August that we get information about next winter's sets from someone like whung, sam89, or legomilk.

    Star Wars sets anyone?

I just got an e-mail from Target saying that Cad Bane's speeder is available on the U.S. Target.com. Link http://www.target.com/dp/B003F7TSH6/ref=t_th_em_is
  7. With the relative success of the Clone Wars and the fact that the merchandise is like minting money for Lucas, I wonder if there are any plans for the show to continue beyond the original plans of 5 years. I remember Dave F. discussing how MASH lasted longer than the actual Vietnam War and that maybe the Clone Wars could do the same. In that same vein, I wonder if there are any future plans for another Clone Wars movie? *runs away from the angry cursing*

Star Wars the force unleashed 2

I know that George Lucas has been planning the live-action tv show for years. The last thing I heard about it was that they had a good amount of the writers, actors, and resources ready. The problem was, according to George, that they were not quite sure how to make a show on this scale work for tv. The show is supposed to take place during the time between ROTS and New Hope, the same time period as TFU. What I would love to see, rather than a show that is supposedly going to split into several shows over time, is for them to take those resources and actors and create a movie trilogy based on the TFU. They could use many of the same actors, vehicles, sites and move that budget towards making these films. The story is very entertaining and TFU already has quite a following with its well-received plot and characters. I think it would make for better movies than the prequels. Just my thoughts.

    Smashed Boxes

I have never started a new topic before, so I hope this is the forum to place it in. I have been collecting Lego for the past 30ish years. As a collector, one of the important aspects of purchasing a new set is the box quality. I display and store each box from every set I own in mint condition. I think Lego has one of the best graphic design teams out there because each box cover is like a piece of art. That being said, I have always taken care to select a mint condition box when buying a new set. Because I am lucky enough to live close to several TRU and Lego stores, I have never had to order a set and have it shipped to my home. However, none of the stores around me have had the most recent Star Wars sets in stock. Being impatient, I saw that TRU had the sets in stock online with free shipping. I ordered them and the boxes arrived today. When they came, both boxes had been smashed during shipping. I was a bit dismayed to say the least. Is this a common issue when ordering from TRU or Lego and should I stick to obtaining my Lego from brick and mortar stores?

    Smashed Boxes

Thanks for the information ILIkePi! That is a very good sign that TLG is taking steps to prevent this. It makes it more likely that I will order online from Lego in the future. TRU needs to take these steps as well, however.
  11. Thanks for the great images Mr. Mandalorian! After looking at the large Tron-like room,I remembered (because I am a huge nerd) that in the DK book Star Wars The Complete Locations, it has a cut-away of the main Kamino cloning facility which shows a huge training room similar to the one shown on the trailer. The room could be changed to simulate different locations for training new clones. Maybe the room is one big holo-projector which is used to project images of whatever location the clones are supposed to be training in.

    2011 themes and sets?

One theme that I think we might have a chance to see, late 2011 or early 2012, could be Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars series. Pixar is making their first live-action movie based on the first book A Princess of Mars. We know that Lego has the rights to create Disney themed sets and Pixar has yet to disappoint in the box office. It sounds like a match made in heaven. For those of you who have not read these great books they are pulp fiction from 1912 and on based on the adventures of a civil war hero who is transported to Mars. James Cameron loosely based Avatar on this series, so you know it has to be good. As for the sets, there are many great potential aliens, kingdoms, and flying battleships in the image of clipper ships and the like. It could be a great line if it happens!
  13. No problem! I was so excited when I saw it posted at starwars.com. The video confirmed what we suspected; a lot of the bridging technology like hybrids of phase 1 and phase 2 clones and new variations like the commando clones or whatever you want to call them. Arc-170s and other episode 3 vehicles seem to be more prominent. And more of Cad Bane, Grevious, and Ziro. And I am just stoked that they are finally showing Kamino in the show! They seem to take a lot of the original ideas from the Clone War graphic novels and apply them to the show and the attack of Kamino is one that was featured in the first graphic novel with the ARC clone Alpha. Good stuff.
  14. New trailer for Season 3 at starwars.com. It looks sweet. Kamino looks like it is invaded and check out those commando clones in the Tron-like environment! Could that be a training facility in Kamino? Link:http://www.starwars.com/video/view/001056.html

    Smashed Boxes

Tristan, my sets came in boxes with gigantic bubble wrap around the sides. That actually seemed to be the culprit which smashed the Lego boxes. The folks at TRU shipping put this extra large bubble wrap in the boxes which were too small to hold it and the sets. To make it all fit, they crammed it all in and pushed it down to make it fit. There was so much stuff in there the box wouldn't close. They had taped the boxes with this wrap just sticking out everywhere. I was not impressed. Hence, I will be obtaining my sets from a brick and mortar store from now on. drdavewatford, thank you for the information. I wish I had talked to you prior to buying my sets. I love Amazon and would have gladly bought the sets from there, but they didn't have them in stock yet. They always ship any books or movies I buy in great shape. What it sounds like from the majority of you is that Lego is the only really safe place to buy sets online. Which is good to know for the future, just in case I can only find a set online. Thanks for all the advise and comments! I did listen to my wise wife and open my sets. And I have to say, that when I was building the turbo tank and enjoying the fact that it only had one (ONE!) sticker, I forgot about the smashed boxes. For a while.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

The figure is very well done and I know I am staring at the proof, but I find it hard to believe that they are making a POC line. It just seems like someone at Lego did a cool mock-up just for fun. However, I am probably wrong about that. Goodness knows I have been before...

    Smashed Boxes

Good to know that this is an uncommon problem. I think I will take them back to TRU. My only concern is if they don't have the sets out on the shelves yet, if they will pull some from the stock room to replace the damaged ones. Never mind. My beautiful wife came home and politely informed me that I was "being ridiculous'" and to "sit down and build my toy." The lady knows best.
  18. Does anyone have a link to the video that Commdr Neyo posted a link to? The youtube link has been closed, as was mentioned, and starwars.com doesn't have it up. Thanks.

    High-Altitude Entry Transport-221

I LOVE this model. I think you do a great job of capturing the functions of the gunboat that the ROTS leaves us imagining. My hope is that Lego will create a set based on this little known ship. Well done!

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like

I have always been a big fan of American comics; G.I. Joe, Batman, ect, but I never got into manga until I found Fullmetal Alchemist. I liked the Brotherhood Anime version, but I LOVE the magna, so well written. So now I am on a hunt for other magna similar in style or content. I don't want any half-naked females running around and I am not a big fan of gore but I do enjoy the military undercurrent flowing through FMA. I tried Pumpkin Scissors, Samurai 7 (which is good, Deathnote, and Bleach; the last too which I haven't started. Any suggestions for manga or anime similar to those styles or stories? Fighting, but not too gory, good story, and no drawings or language that is going to make me blush. Thanks for the help.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

Cat and Mouse was a bit of a let-down. Hoping next weeks episode is better. Anyone have a link to the bounty hunters preview?

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

Next weeks episode looks like pure win. For three reasons: 1 the pre-TIE fighter pilot character. I would watch the show alone to see that helmet again. 2 A cloaked ship, which is money. 3 Action. I am sick all the slow episodes.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

I have to respectively disagree with you. Mandos, like Boba, will still have a god like status will the true fans. Especially those in the states. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a Mando battle pack I just don't think it will happen. I think that they are going to go with a better known bad guy to offset the clone battle pack. It could be commando droids, who knows. However, if it does happen you can say I told you so all you want, while I gladly buy up the Mando battle packs.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Season 2 Discussion

Thanks for the link. This week's show looks much better than the massive disappointment that was last week's episode. However cool of an idea it is, I am going to say there is a zero chance that we will get a Mando battle pack ever. For one thing, they look too much like clones, and TLC just did a clone pack last year. For another, Mandos may be pure fanboy gold but they are not well known to the general public. And with the huge fail that was the assassin battle pack last year, which was made up of lesser known characters, I bet Lego will stick with the basic home runs like storm troopers.

    Harry Potter 2010 discussion thread

Rick, thank you for the link. The Burrow sounds exciting. As I have stated before, I hope this will lead to the creation of a Number 13 Grimmauld Place in the future. Does anyone know if Eurobricks has a representative covering the London Toy Fair? I know that FBTB usually covers the NY Toy Fair because they are based in the states.
