Fantastic, thanks KielDaMan! That was exactly what I was looking for. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

For me, the commandos are the pinnacle of EU awesomeness that Feloni has incorporated into the Clone Wars so far. Kimino and Mandos are great, but specific EU characters are what really interest me. Also, I think that the show can do a better job of showing off the ships and technology of the Star Wars universe. The best part of the original cartoon was how popular it made the gunship by featuring it almost as a character, like the Muunilinst 10 LAAT. Does anyone have a headcount of how many Jedi council members have been featured on the show so far? I mean real members, not the made-up characters that get tossed in the show. -
Whatever ship Starkiller has in TFU II, it looks much better than the original Rouge Shadow.

I would be interested in seeing if Lego will incorporate any weapons on the T6 Jedi shuttle. I don't believe it had any in the show, but that hasn't stopped Lego before. The Republic Cruiser did not have any weapons in Episode I, but Lego slipped some "hidden" laser cannons in the set. http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=7665-1

That is great news about a Vos figure. The one thing I like about Dave Feloni is that he likes to pull in characters and themes from the EU, which many of us fans enjoy. I can only hope that Lego creates a Vos minifigure for the future. By the way, starwars.com has a video introduction to Savage Opress. It is on the front page. http://www.starwars.com/ -
A few years ago there were a ton of mods of the old version of the gunship. Many were good, but this is by far the best version of ARC gunship I have seen. The rancor stickers are fantastic and the placement of the blue bricks are spot on. The ARC gunship is the reason I am such a Clone Wars fan. Well done, KielDaMan!

That was very impressive. Season 3 looks much better than last season, which I was a bit disappointed with to tell the truth. The invasion of Kamino looks like the highlight so far, with the commandos and a view of the training facilities. It almost appears that Ventress is one of the people with lightsabers who are invisible attacking Dooku. Perhaps she is taking her revenge on him with the help of the Nightsisters? -
Great topic! Huge Lego fan as a kid, especially the Pirate theme. I escaped my "dark ages," about seven years ago when I started teaching. We had a tub of Lego bricks in my room and one day a student came up to me during recess and asked me to help him build a pirate ship. I was hooked again. Thankfully, I have an awesome wife who enjoys kids stuff as much as I do, such as Pixar movies and Harry Potter novels. So, she feeds my addiction by purchasing me new sets each Christmas and birthday!

Sorry to revive this thread, but it seemed like the appropriate place for this news. "Lucas Announces Star Wars is coming to blu ray. All six movies are being released on Blu-ray and that the set is coming out Fall 2011" article: http://bluray.ign.com/articles/111/1112481p1.html I for one am excited. However, I bet they will cost quite a bit.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Thanks for the article, simonjedi! To follow up on what I said a page ago about the chance of seeing a young Han Solo on the show, a young fan asked Dave Feloni just that question, and here is Dave's reply: "Filoni said he felt especially bad giving evasive answers to kids about what's to come – so it's worth noting he told one kid Boba Fett "is around," in Season 3. When another kid asked Filoni if any characters from the original trilogy "like young Han Solo or young Chewbacca" might show up, Filoni replied, "There will be some connections to the classic trilogy in Season 3." We will see... -
Svelte, thank you very much for the information! I am excited to see what the set will be.

After seeing the Republic Commandos that are going to have a small part in the Clone Wars season 3, my obvious desire would be to have these troops included in a future set. That sounds like a solid battle pack to me. The AT-RT would be a nice change from battle pack vehicles that look like an afterthought to the set.

That is great news! The helmets and armor looks fantastic. Karen Traviss did a wonderful job fleshing out the commando's story in the Star Wars universe. I hope that this opens up the chance to see Mando trainers like Kal Skirata. Here's hoping that Dave Feloni does as good a job with their story as Traviss. About Dave's comment that there is a chance to see EU characters, lets hope we see Quinlan Vos finally. -

UGO has an interview with Ashley Eckstein who is the the voice of Ahsoka Tano. Watch it if you have nothing better to do for 7 minutes ;) Link to interview: http://www.ugo.com/tv/exclusive-clone-wars-ashley-eckstein-geeks-out Anyway, she goes on to say that the third season will make some significant connections to the original trilogy and answer some questions. When I thought about that statement, Boba Fett obviously comes to mind. However, in the original script for ROTS Lucas had a young Han Solo helping Yoda find the whereabouts of General Grievous. Obviously that storyline is gone but what if in this season Dave Filoni and George decide to include the boy wonder version of Han Solo? Don't be so quick to dismiss this idea. I mean, we never thought we would see Boba Fett in the Clone Wars and we all know how that turned out.... -

Great find Commander Neyo. If you look carefully at the part where there are several tri-fighters, in the background it appears to be Asajj Ventress' ship which is a Fanblade starfighter from the original Clone Wars cartoon. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:Fanblade.jpg If that is the case, I would love to have an official set of that ship. -
Very well done. The custom sticker is fantastic also! Do you happen to have a background in graphic design? The one thing that I and many other people who own and love the LAAT/i feel that the original set would be even better with the side gun turrets. Any interest in adding them to your MOC? I look forward to your next creation.
-
I really like both the color scheme and shape of your ship. If it were an actual model, I would purchase it.
-
Thank you sok117. It's just speculation on my part but the logic made sense to me. The Halo looks like a fine ship and I will be excited to have it as a set if that indeed is what we are getting. But you never know what other ships may be featured on season three which could be used as that set.
-
If I could piggyback on KielDaMan's speculation about the vehicles to be included in the battle packs, I believe we have a good chance of seeing a new version of the BARC speeder in the Clone battle pack. We haven't seen a true version of it since the original clone turbo tank( I don't think the ROTS clone battle pack version counts since it was a two-seated version). The only other item I could see being included would be some sort of anti-bomb vehicle for the bomb clones or a small version of the AV-7 Antivehicle Cannon seen in the Clone War movie.Link: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/File:RepublicArtillery.jpg And if I could jump back to the discussion we started back on page 3 about which ship will be the bounty hunter gunship, I am going to have to go with my original guess that it will be the Halo seen in the Bounty Hunters episode. I think that if it was going to be Cad Bane's The Slight of Hand ship we would get some sort of title including Cad Bane's name or the name of the ship itself, rather than a generic "bounty hunter gunship" title. I think the reason that Lego is labeling that set the bounty hunter gunship, is because the ship itself is named the Halo and there could be too many legal implications connected to calling a set "Halo" with megablocks holding the rights to the Halo sets.
-
I didn't even notice that one of the figures in the battle pack was an ARF trooper. That totally changes my stance on getting 3 mini-figures rather than 4. I would be willing to take on less figure for one of those guys. I have been hoping for an ARF trooper since we saw them in the Clone Wars movie.
-
That is true, however, you know that Lego adds unusual figures to sets they don't really belong in. Plo in the gunship, Kit in the ARC fighter, and as you say Bane in the CTT. Anyway, you may be totally correct and he may not show up at all. I have no idea, I am just passing on the information I read on the first page. It would be cool to get Boba as a kid thought.
-
The idea of getting Boba with the T6 shuttle came from the translation KimT made when changing the German to English. Since the Clone Wars feature Boba as a child, it would be a good bet that would be the form we would get as a mini-figure. But, as we know, nothing is for sure until we get the sets;) Lightning Tiger, the T6 shuttle sounds like it is happening but I am just speculating about the bounty hunter ship. I could be totally wrong

I have to say, I like that ship much better than Sugi's. Whatever it is, it can't be that big with that price count.
