Arealight, those look fantastic. Many of us have been hoping that you would make some of those. As a color suggestion, how about orange for the cold-trooper and the airborne trooper? That way you could use the cold-trooper helmet as a flame trooper. Have you thought about printing the visors on the helmets? You did a great job printing on the Twi'lek girls. It would be a great help for those of us who are not skilled with printing or stickers. I would be willing to pay more for a printed helmet.

New Custom Clone Trooper Helmets from Arealight
djmangunz replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Arealight is a freaking genius. The bottom picture with the new helmets appear to be a cold-trooper, republic commando, arf trooper, and airborne trooper. The airborne trooper is like a dream come true. I have seen some of them made by other people, but no one can make em like Arealight. -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
djmangunz replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you on that point. I am hoping they will keep the show going for as long as possible. I have transferred all allegiance from the OT to the Clone Wars just because I love the stories (and clones) so much. This is all just my speculation on the fact I think they will keep it going for about 6 years just because it seems hard to keep a cartoon fresh for more than half a decade. Those shows that stay around for longer than their allotted freshness (see; Simpsons, The) become hard to watch. -
You know, Jangu Fett, I think there is a good chance we will see Pre Vizsla in a future set with one of the Death Watch fighters we see on Concordia.
-
Sadly, I don't think that we will ever see Durge in minifigure form. Dave Feloni already said that they turned Durge into Cad Bane, so the chances of seeing Durge in the new Clone Wars (which is what all the new sets are based on) is slim. KDM, I am hoping you are right about Luminara and Gree, it would be great to get a Clone War version of both of them.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion
djmangunz replied to Corvus's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I think that we all can agree that this season will be the best so far. Regarding the future of the Clone Wars, Feloni said recently that they plan on making the show as long as people keep watching it. We already know that Lucas plans to make 100 episodes which is about 5 years worth. I think that it will run for about 6 years total. Even though there is an unlimited amount of EU material to mine for stories, a cartoon on that scale has to run out of steam at some point. I think that season four will be the best with the advancements they are making with the graphics and the stories will still be fresh at that point. I also think that they will let it run for one year too long, with the stories getting redundant and stale just because they want to milk a huge cash cow for all it is worth. -
It would be nice to have specific Clone commanders again period. We have yet to see a "named" commander since the first wave of the Clone Wars sets back in, what, 2008? And generic ARC troopers don't count in my book. The republic cruiser would have been a perfect place to put a Gree or the Clone Turbo tank with a Bly. I am hoping in the future that Lego will break that recent trend of generic troopers and give us some of the official commandos like Sev.

That's how I imagined the fanblade, with solid immovable wings. Here's hoping the boys at Lego are more imaginative than me.
-
Good point, that would be hard to replicate.
-
Yes, I was a bit disappointed after seeing the words "tactical droid" on the preliminary clone turbo tank artwork and then realizing that wasn't going to happen when we saw the final version. But I really do think we will see them in some upcoming set. Lego is too savvy not to include such a quality generic character they can use again and again.

Yeah, I was a bit surprised at the idea of killing a golden goose, one that is in pre-production for the third one at that.I guess time will tell...

I wanted to make some more fearless predictions about the upcoming 2011 summer sets. I figured it would be more appropriate to put it here rather than bog up the 2011 sets topic with my unfounded guesses. Knowing that we see the bigger sets in the summer, I am going to say one set we will see will be the Republic light cruiser seen in the Clone Wars season two. I believe that this will be the $120 dollar "big set" of the summer. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Republic_light_cruiser I also think that we will see Asajj Ventress' fanblade starfighter that we get a shot of in the season 3 preview. We have only one set with this great minifigure in it and we are due for another. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Fanblade These are the only sets that I feel comfortable predicting now. However, I do believe that I have a good idea of many of the figures we will see this summer. Commando droid -people have been talking about them since Rookies Clone commando -I believe we will see a new helmet for these popular EU characters, however I think we will only see two of the squad not all four. Tactical droid -We almost got one with the clone turbo tank, logic dictates we will see one sooner or later Ki-Adi-Mundi -had some big parts in season two, got to think we will see a version of him at some point. Savage Oppress -the new expendable villain for the Star Wars universe, kids will go crazy over him. Nightsisters -kind of a strange one here, but I didn't think we would see a Hondo Ohnaka figure either

According to a recent article in GameSpy, due to some shake-ups in LucasArts there not be a third The Force Unleashed. "Meegan, who became president of LucasArts in June, already scrapped an in-development PSP version of Force Unleashed II and reportedly canceled a third game in the franchise that was already in pre-production." http://uk.gamespy.com/articles/111/1117751p1.html Obviously, if this is true it sucks hard.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: season 3 discussion

Interesting article from IGN from an interview with the voice of Anakin Skywalker himself, Matt Lanter. In the article Lanter hints at some upcoming big things in this season and beyond. http://tv.ign.com/articles/111/1118032p1.html -
I have always wondered why the sets are bigger (at least for Star Wars) in August, but the fact that it is only four months away until Christmas makes sense. Good call.
-
Let me make myself clear, I really like the JANUARY sets we will get in 2011 but I am more excited to see the AUGUST sets we will get late 2011. Good? I have always thought of the January sets as the winter sets and the August as the summer, since here in the US that is the time we typically get those seasons. And since this is a 2011 Pictures and Rumors topic I feel justified in my discussing and speculating about said upcoming summer sets. Those August sets always seem to be bigger and or more exciting than the winter versions. Not that I don't like the winter sets, but the summer sets are the ones I look forward to more.
-
As much as I like the 2011 winter sets, I am really looking forward to the summer bunch. The August models are always more impressive than the December ones. I am going to make a fearless prediction and say that we will see Savage Oppress in mini figure form this summer.
-
Not to disagree with you, but look at the T-6 shuttle. It says Anakin on the box but we see Vos above. And no one seems to be disputing that fact now. But I do see what you are saying.
-
I could be wrong. If you look at my prior post, I seem to be wrong about future sets quite a bit.
-
Oh, heck yeah, KeilDaMan, I think it's wrong. And despite what other people say, Lego does appear to try and keep things accurate. (Stop laughing) I would love for Lego to redo the helmet and give us an army of cheap commandos. But I don't see them doing that. At least not with the battlepacks. As far as Sugi, I think the fact that we have a model of Cato in the images is greater proof that we will see her in the set. It would make sense to have Sugi in this set but Lego does like to move characters into sets that they have nothing to do with. And now I have successfully contradicted my first point.
-
I have to apologize to Navy Trooper Fenson and his source for my lack of faith in their information about the Vos mini figure. I'm stupid. You're smart. I was wrong. You were right. You're the best. I'm the worst. You're very good looking. I'm not attractive. And so on. Anyway, good looking images. The thing that I am not sure about is what weapon the new blaster represents. As far as Lego Star Wars weapons, we have the DC-17 in the small pistol, the DC-15 blaster rifle in the rifle, and the DC-15 blaster in the medium size rifle. So what is the new mold supposed to be? I think that Lego is going to keep the clone commando name on the new battle packs because that will sell more sets. However, I also think that we will see more accurate version of the commandos in this summers' sets. They will just label them with their given names like they do with any major character like Obi Wan or Vader. So because the commandos are going to be so popular on the Clone War show, I think we will see Sev, Boss, Fixer, and Scorch in the future. I also think that we are going to get Cato Parasitti in the Halo and not Sugi, which I feel is an improvement.
-
Yeah, that's what I meant when I said "It does sound like we will see Vos in season 3,"
-
I certainly don't know Omot and I am sure they are a great source of information, but I have to wonder if they may have been misled. It does sound like we will see Vos in season 3, but I find it hard to believe that we will get three new jedi in an eighty dollar set. Likewise, a commando would be great in the battlepack, but I don't see two new helmet molds in one battlepack. Although, that would explain why we might only get three figures for the price of four...
-
That's what I was thinking, just wasn't sure. Thanks for the info prateek.

I am sure someone here can refresh my memory, when do we typically see the winter sets released? I want to say that TRU had them halfway through December last year. I am just itching to get my hands on some of those 2011 clone battle packs. Also, when do we normally see the rumor list for the summer sets? I want to say it is around Christmas also. I know this is greedy, but I want to see the big guns for next summer. Only a few more months...
