Fake. It's music from the Mummy tomb of the dragon emperor, I believe. It has a very 'universal pictures' sound to it if you listen hard.
-
EPIC!!!!! It's a spoiler by title, too! yeah... BZ had better just accept the flood of official spoilers and let people discuss it freely.
-
where in heavenly goodness is that polish guidebook? I really want to see now if the MU looks like Mata-Nui.
-
yeah... I was kinda hoping for a hint of the actual set, but... still bad-a**
-
Mata Nui's pic is on BZP heerio
-
What bugs me is that apparently, no one asked Greg about whether or not the Glatorians have masks.
-
Totally. I really like the fruit ammo idea-reminds me of 2001. This next year is gonna ROCK!!!!!
-
hardly! Everyone wants t know it! Ever since that leaked vid, the question of the MU=MN has been aching for an answer. Guess we still don't know! Greg was wise to leave it out of BL11. Oh, welcome to Eurobricks!
-
I love it all! One day, and BAM! now, we wait for more pics like Tuma's
-
Yeah... I'm slightly sad, too. Except that even if we did have holey spheres, there wouldn't be much use for them unless you got REALLY creative. And besides, it's been a while now since we had something truly unique and that wasn't a gun.

Dang! Now I'm gonna have to redraw Strakk with the new launcher. Still, It's easier to draw than a zamor launcher.... I really like the new one. It reminds me of the disk launchers in 04 and the spikes make it just that cooler. Tuma's REAL mask-helm looks amazing. Now I actually want him. Can't wait for the rest of the CG pics!
-
erm.... Tarix's tube connects to his mask... Look at the design of the mask. Made to fit a tube.
-
Damn! Sorry everyone! I got ebony confused with ivory-stupid song lyrics. So, yeah... Strakk in no way resembles the woman from the serial. Strakk still reminds me of a female, tho.
-
Strakk.

I asked Greg. It isn't a character from the 09 universe. He said only one character from this year will be in 09, and it is a character already from this universe. And I did mean Strakk-the female character was white-so is Strakk. Plus, Strakk seems slightly feminine in the eyes... Not in any way a bad thing.
-
What if that female on Metru Nui were Strakk?
-
It didn't feel the same. It seemed so... out of place. We need more background-more history in the area. Since everything about the actual story and characters was out of place in the setting, it did not feel quite right. If we had something familiar to the characters, something out of place like the Codrex would really stand out and truly be wierd. But there was no contrast. Just a swamp with with robots that stuck out like sore thumbs in this setting.

yeah.. I liked 2001 for it's mysticality and mysterie. It's when it got more on the robo-side that I felt less intrigued. See, it has to balance nicely. In Karda Nui, we had machines in a completely un-mechanical setting, which did not work well. We need some semblance of familiarity and we need things like ruins with unexplained origins to keep the awe. Something like SotC.

I am currently sending Greg questioins on 2009... lesse if the sever eats them again...

It would suck indeed, but from this, what can we figure for the story? Facts: Tarix is a DUDE The lineup will be mixed, but will not be 3 vs. 3 "practical people dealing with serious problems"... what are these serious problems? It's completely new and unknown.
-
I just found this on BZP!!! A few questions on 2009, though I'm not sure you can answer: 1. A guy over here says you've confirmed we have a new book-series for '09. Is this true? 1a. If so, do you have a name chosen? (I recommend "BIONICLE Odysseys.") 2. Tarix looks rather unfeminine for a blue set, though I suppose it's wouldn't be a first. Still, in a new universe with new rules, is there any possibility that each elemental tribe might contain both genders? 3. I've heard that the 2009 universe wasn't created by the Great Beings. Is this true? 3a. If not, is it possible we'll get to learn of some new pantheon of beings? 3b. Is there any possibility that next year's setting is the Great Being's universe? It's been described as having caverns of ice and hot forges, and you've said there are many different environments in next year's location. (Plus the backgrounds of the '09 sets look very elemental.) 4. Are you planning on having a good deal of mysticism in next year's story? (ie: "The Heavens," reverence of the elements, astrology, things like Vakama's Sacred Fire, etc.) Anyways, I love the appearance of the sets. Kudos to the set-designers on that. (Especially Skrall and Strakk!) 1) Haven't said anything of the kind. I really doubt they will bother with a new series name, since there are only two books in '09. Two is not much of a series. 2) Tarix is not female, which is why he does not look female. This is not the Matoran universe, so Matoran universe rules do not apply. 3) Correct 3a) No, we are not dealing on that scale of power. It's sort of like watching, say, a Pirates movie -- do they stop and get into who created the Earth during the story? 3b) Sorry, I can't go into this kind of detail 4) Nope. 2009 is about practical people dealing with serious problems ... they really don't have time to worry about the mystical and the intangible. 4. Well I mean more like in 2001- It included all of those things just as aspects of the culture, but they didn't really play an overly important part. Just little details thrown in. 4) Based on what I have seen and written, no -- we are dealing with a very different culture here, and we didn't want to just redo 2001 in a different location. In an instant, everything changed. Whether by accident or fate, the one half of the badass snowflake hit the Ignika with such force, the powers inside were shown for a split second. And in that second, the warriors in the room were changed. No longer were they trecharous fiends of the elements, they were now, despite their appearance, heroes, whose sole purpose was to keep the Ignika from the other six Glatorians-ones that would not be known until the summer of a year in another universe.

Continuation of GUNNAR's epic: ...The tan warrior Vorox. Aligned with no side, Vorox and his monstrous pet had been travelling across the lands, assessing weaknesses and preparing for the coming battle. He turned to Skrall and nodded. Skrall headed off like he was, still under the impression that he and the Scorpion of the Sands were allies. "let him think that," Vorox thought aloud. He then turned his attention to the struggling green warrior under his one-colored piraka feet. Curious, he reached down and yanked the mask-helmet off. "Wow!" He said."That's neat! a brand new head, although one would usually be describing it out loud in a story, I feel content just seeing since it's not like my actions are being read in some perverse other universe." He placed the helm-mask back on his now unconscious foe and reset his life-count to 5. He really liked having prey to hunt, and having them weak simply wouldn't do. By the time Gresh woke up, his assailant was gone and two repaired small warriors lay beside him. ----- THE DAY OF THE BATTLE: It had begun. Despite his efforts to get a head start, Skrall found himself encountering enemies at full-health and more determined than ever. This was going to be tough. Fortunately, he managed to convince his earth warrior that it had been a mistake and was now glad to have another set of blades at his aid. Skrall was travelling underground, but had no clue where he was. He decided to surface. With a blast from his pule-blade, he broke the tunnel and stepped out into the frozen cavern of Strakk. And looked right into the cold grinning face of the most badass ice character to come into Bionicle. "Hello there, traitor." And in an instant, Skrall was frozen solid. His life-counter was the only thing moving and it was getting lower and lower...

Contunuing GUNNAR'S epic: Gresh watched Skrall silently. He had indeed reassembled his beastly partner and sent him to guard the ice caves that the Glatorian Strakk inhabited. He figured Skrall would want the cool shield that Metus used. Suddenly, the tree he sat on shook as something tunneled it from below... Far off in the waterfall region, Tarix was sharpening his energy blades. That's right, energy needs sharpening too. Berix was not far off, watching his water flame with awe. He had just earned his shield and weapon for a recent success in recolored parts. Suddenly, Tarix stood up. "We're not alone."

Hm... sonce this should really be a topic limited to actual set discussion rather than passing time 'till there is something to discuss, I am thinking we should just make another topic for our epic bantering. Not a topic devoted to one epic, but to any that present themselves-interconnecting, or completely separate. If I may have the permission, I would like to start that topic.
