I see you are still making beautiful and interesting designs. So much fantastic texture... makes me appreciate an architectural style I always thought was pretty blah. Slanted roof beams are a nice touch.

How do you do it? Fantastic!

It's been a while since I had a finished Modular to share. Here's a new 16 wide - City Pizza & Hacker Space. Like my Bookshop, the architecture is based on buildings in Montreal. The first floor is "City Pizza" and utilizes a some of the stickers from the Lego accessory pack. Yes, I also took a Sharpie to three tiles to create some art for the walls. Those are some rather old windows in the front with the shorter height. Upstairs is a Hacker Space were some young people are up to who-knows-what. The top floor is a dorm with four bunks. As always - Thanks for looking!

Pretty perfect illustration of the experience so far. Well done!

Thanks! I admit that I was hesitant at first to take a sharpie to the tiles, but I'm glad I did. I'm pleased with the result.

I'm astounded... it's gorgeous! Seems like a wonderful place for minifigs to spend an afternoon.

Fantastic! I'm impressed.... such a beautiful round window/balcony. The storefront is wonderful too.

Fabulous! Really looks good next to Green Grocer.

Looks great! I love the color and feeling of autumn. First time I've been excited about a modular since Parisian Restaurant.

Absolutely gorgeous. Your art deco designs are the best!

Love the clock tower and the roof technique.

Excellent! Such a spacious luxury apartment. I like the ice skates as window details.

Looks great! The colors work surprisingly well. The roof on the dark red building is really interesting and fun. I also like the way the balconies are staggered.- 15 replies

Looks fabulous! Coming up with new techniques is my favorite thing about building. Love the way you've done the curved display window and entrance on the middle building.

Fantastic! What a whimsical and fun design. Looks like something from a Studio Ghibli movie.

My latest modular is a 24-wide Victorian building with a Bookstore on the first floor and apartment on the upper floors. Detail of the storefront: Detail of the upper floors: Bookstore interior: Upstairs interiors: Thanks for looking!

Perfect as always. That floor is beautiful! The colors and that patterns are brilliant. Also really love the luggage cart design with the flexible hoses.

Thanks! The angled window is a clear wall piece and a windshield turned sideways. It's actually relatively simple to do. It's always bothered me that books in bookshelves are usually done with flat ends. I've been sitting on that handlebar book technique for a long time. I usually make 16-wide modulars and the size of the bookcase never fit well. Finally did a 24-wide so it HAD to be a bookstore. :) You should try mixing colors. The truth is I didn't have enough dark gray slopes in my collection to do the entire roof. I was going to have to order more pieces, change colors, or mix something in. I wasn't sure about using the dark tan with the dark gray because the shade is so far off. It didn't really work until the outside lighter gray framing was complete. Now I'm very happy I went with it. I made parents, but I forgot to drop them in before taking photos. I guess child services will be showing up soon. :) Thanks! Yes, I was very excited to use that piece. Brickset calls it "4652060: Tool Belt - 17M". I wish I had more than one because it's also flexible and I can imagine other uses for it.

Terrific! Some great details. I really like the corner display window. Also great use of the newer curved tile pieces.

I've noticed that Target usually puts sets on clearance in late August... clearing the shelves before stocking for the Christmas season.

Wonderful! I love the way you used hairbrushes.

Very nice. Great character and atmosphere.

I'm a modular person. Mostly I come here to share modular MOCs and see modular MOCs. I also look for the names of some favorite builders and check out their threads regardless... just because I know whatever it is will be amazing. I like Winter Village too and usually check those out. Sometimes I look at cars/planes etc., but they're just not as interesting to me and I'm less likely to comment. I haven't been here as long as some, but there does seem to have been a drop off in the number of quality MOCs in the last couple of years. I think more modulars is to blame. You can have a pretty full town by just buying Lego modulars now.
