LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

At the very least I could see lego making new orc armour for morranon orcs beacuse I think we will probably get a Gothmog minifigure which will definately need to have different armour. To be honest I think we will get new orcs in the third wave because those are likely to be minas tirith/return of the king sets so we will get a lot more orcs from that wave and where as the first wave was focused around the Uruk Hai as being the main villains the third is likely to be focused more around the orcs which could mean new prints.

    Helm's Deep expansion [MOC]

I love how well it blends with the design of the set. I sometimes have to check what it is that actually isn't in the set.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

I think we probably will see several sets in the next wave based off of the seige of Gondor because can't imagine Lego would leave it much longer and it seems like they're trying to get less important scenes from RotK and stuff from the first two films out of the way first. So things like the Balrog, the Witch King and Fellbeast and of course Minas Tirith will all be left for one big wave of good sets based off of awsome scenes from the films.

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

I am honestly not sure about a Dol Guldur set. I am sure we will get one but the minifigures are more complicated. We will definately get the Necromancer and Gandalf although we might get Radagast though I don't think so because the scene with him in Dol Guldur is just a short flashback. Other possible minifures (Going from information from books, films and character descriptions for the films) include Galadriel, Elrond, Saruman, Bolg, Thrain and the Nazgul/Witch King of Angmar (ghost). EDIT: If you're wondering abou the character descriptions thing, there is a description of Bolg saying he is the torturer in the dungeons of Dol Guldur.

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

I think Azog might be in a small-medium sized set in his first fight with Thorin because it's the only major scene he's in except for warg attack which has been done. I imagine the set would have Azog, Thorin and some rocks if it's small because there isn't much scenery. If the set was to be bigger it might also come with an armoured dwarf and an orc with the entrance to Moria. A lot of pepole will want Azog because he is the major villain in the first film and some people who have seen the Unexpected Journey may have been disapointed we didn't get him so I guess that is Lego's motivation for making an Azog set. Yes I do know Lego had no idea about Azog being in the film (or at least the Azog design used in the film because he originally was/looked like Yazneg) so please don't complain about that, in fact from what I had seen I don't think anybody but the people working on the film knew until it was released.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

I hope the reason we don't have new orc desings is because we haven't had any sets where the orcs are the main bad guys (except the warg attack). It's still a not a good reason but if you think about it the cheapest set with orcs is £40, the Orc forge which first set with orcs only came with two, so I think we will get new orcs when we get cheaper sets focused more around the orcs. I'm not too sure if the goblin king battle counts as orc focused set because those are goblins and the set is quite expensive so not everybody will get some goblins. Still not good enough explanation for some of the more expensive sets where you would expect there to be better minifigs (most of the time).

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

I can imagine they would do all of those sets and maybe also:Last alliance: Sauron, Isildur, Elendil (possibly), either some orcs, elves and men although I'm not enirely sure because the set would probably be small due to there not being much scenery in set except maybe the entrance to mount doom. I also don't think they would have Elrond in the last alliance because of the limited edition Elrond with the game. It depends on the set size and imagination of the designers. Lothlorien: Galadriel, Frodo, Sam and Boromir. I assume we will see it because of the images from the game and depending on what happens in the hobbit films we can't be sure that Galadriel will be at Dol Guldur also considering how the story of what happened at Dol Guldur has been changed a lot already in the film. Also it will be a chance to get Boromir agin in a cheaper set unless they make... Amon-Hen: Aragorn, Boromir and Lurtz, maybe some other figures. Based mostly off the fact that there needs to be another set with Boromir because he is a member of the fellowship and therefore an important character. If LEGO does make it and it only comes with Aragorn, Lurtz and Boromir we can asume it will be cheap (maybe) and therefore it's a cheap set with Aragorn and Boromir so people who may not have been able to afford other larger sets with Aragorn and Boromir can finally get them. Also another set with some rohirim would be good because we only have one so far.

    LEGO LotR - general discussion

It would be a bit of a waste. LEGO can only produce a certain number of sets which is why we only get 5 or 6 sets for each wave of LotR and The Hobbit. Also there wouldn't be much point to have 3 big expensive sets for Rivendell, it's not the most important part of the books or movies, the only notable part of it is the council of Elrond and not everybody would be able to afford one big modular set, let alone 3. If you really want the whole of Rivendell then try build parts of it yourself, thats what LEGO's core values are, to get people to be creative and use their imagination.

LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

Not only do they have the same clothes but the same weird facial expressions. I do think that the minifgures in the council of Elrond make it worth buying. It's good to get at least Gimli in a slightly cheaper set although I don't see why he was there. An old Bilbo or Boromir (who probably won't appear again unless they make Amon Hen) would make more sense although I can imagine Gimli was put in so more people would want to buy the set.
