This is so very well-done! Amazing!

[MOC] Man of War (Slug Cruiser from FTL)

Looks better than mine for sure. =P
  3. Yeah, heard about Mecabricks on a multitude of occasions. Still prefer LDD because it's way easier to use.
  4. Okay so. There's been talk about the petition. Did anyone actually attempt to create one?
  5. It's now one year and two days. And still counting.
  6. And I will be sticking to LDD even if it won't get an update. Because everything else is beyond my comfort zone. It's that simple.

No paint tool in LDD ?

Yes, that seem to be an issue. When having your LXF open, go to View => New Themes => LDD Extended and it should switch you to an Extended mode. I think you need to save the file then in order for LDD to remember what mode you're using for this model. I hope that will help!

[LDD] Lego Space Reloaded - M:Tron

Sup guys! It's been a while since I've posted anything, so I decided to fix that. Today I am going to treat you with what I believe to be the revamps to all small-to-middle M:Tron sets. Let's start with a droid I made as an addition to my series of Space-thematic robot helpers. M-Tron Service Bot by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr The service drones of M:Tron are created to serve on the huge space ships, and therefore their chassis are made to roll on the relatively flat surfaces of various cargo holds and hallways. Have no special tools, only their hands to assist them. Next on the list is revamp of #1478 Mobile Satellite Uplink. M-Tron Mobile Satellite Uplink by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr As you can see, I have continued the idea of roller-ball chassis, and it was not long before I decided to make it the theme of all M-Tron vehicles. I know that in real life the friction won't allow those balls to actually roll, but one can dream, right? =) The main features of the set are traditional steering through joint in the middle, plus deployable satellite dish with two antennae, and tiltable chassis for better mobility. Second in the line is 6833 Beacon Tracer. M-Tron Beacon Tracer by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr Nothing special on this one, except for making it some sort of "dune buggy" thing. Next we have 6811 Pulsar Charger, first of the flying vehicles of the M:Tron. M:Tron Pulsar Charger by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr As I decided that roller-balls would be the main feature of small M-Tron land vehicles, I decided that propelling rings would be the theme for their flyers. Other than than, really nothing special about this set. As usual, I decided to keep as much trans-green bits, as possible. And since we've started with the flyers, why not show the 6877 Vector Detector M-Tron Vector Detector by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr I guess this one can count as the least look-alike since I took liberty of adding four propelling rings, and overall shape of the hull is different. The MOC still has a container box attached on the bottom. And last, but not least, we have the second biggest vehicle in all the line, 6896 Celestial Forager! M-Tron Celestial Forager by Artemiy Karpinskiy, on Flickr As you can see, the original functions are saved, sans the magnets. Okay, that's about it! Please, leave your feedback, I would gladly appreciate it!

[LDD] Lego Space Reloaded - M:Tron

Could you be more specific on which piece you refer to? Since I work in Extended Mode, all my bricks are red by default. Is it the ingot piece?

Thank you for your feedback, good friend! Love the redesign, although I always thought that Revel Hunters has more in length than width. =)
  15. Hello, Mugbearer here reporting from sleepy Russia, 04:00 am GMT +3. My LDD just started updating itself with the 4.3.8 patch, so I wanted to ask: am I late for the party or is it something new? If it's new, who knows what are new features and bricks? I guess I would try to find them myself and post a screenshot, so let's start a discussion of a recent patch!

    [LDD/POV-Ray] Warframe: Volt

[Render] Volt by The Mugbearer, on Flickr Meet Volt, the electrifying space ninja aka Tenno from massive multiplayer online third-person shooter called Warframe. It's not entirely clear, whether Tenno are people that wear Waframe suits, or Warframes themselves, or some incorporeal presences that can switch between Warframes like bodies. The latter is logical if you think of it from a gameplay standpoint. Volt here, in addition to being one of the starting 'Frames, is a master of electricity, which is pretty obvious if you look at his name. Of course, I cannot show it without any sufficient special effects, and I will probably work on the image in Photoshop later, but at least you have now a good idea of what Volt looks like. I will also provide a screenshot with his front and back views. In his hand Volt holds his trusty Boltor nailthrowing machine rifle. For some reason I believe that Boltor is one of Volt's signature weapons. It oddly fits him. Anyway, comments and critiques are welcome, and as I promised, the screenshot: Volt by The Mugbearer, on Flickr

[MOC] Stone Protector Leader and the Okoto Dragon

Can't say much about dragon. The size is impressive indeed, but the detail eludes me for some reason. The Stone Protector leader though is very good. I like the heroic pose on the second picture.

    LDD just updated to 4.3.8

Question: was the following piece in LDD before?
  20. The Mugbearer

    LDD just updated to 4.3.8

Considering my Core i5, Win 8.1 and all that jazz, it took me about three to four minutes maximum, including the unpacking of a new build.

    LDD just updated to 4.3.8

Unless I missed something. There's a chance I did. I want more Speedorz shells!
  22. The Mugbearer

    LDD just updated to 4.3.8

No. In fact, I don't see any difference, so I must assume that it's just a hotfix to the recent palette issue.
  23. Hello everyone! So every now and then I look at this page and get inspired by many illustrations presented here or just try to remember them, and it inspires me to think about how would I reboot the "classic" Space themes, such as Blacktron, Ice Planet, Space Police, Spyrius... These thoughts has led me to some results that are posted here. And today I want to show you some of my ideas of how would droid/robotic helpers would look like in a rebooted space? Ice Planet Reloaded - Figures by The Mugbearer, on Flickr The Ice Planet robot was the first that I made. The role I had in mind is a fast-moving scout/courier. Space Police Patrol and Apprehension Unit by The Mugbearer, on Flickr For Space Police robot I had a more specific role in mind. This droid is for patrol and apprehension, which means it must have a sturdy frame and be mobile enough to scale the distance between itself and perpetrator. It hovers above the ground and uses it's shoulder boosters for steering. Blacktron Intruder Bot by The Mugbearer, on Flickr The latest robot I made is the biggest among them all, and there's no surprise since it's an intruder battle droid that disguises itself as a recon probe. It's armed with plasma circular sawblade and a laser gun, and it's sole purpose is to sabotage the work of M-Tron's facilities. That's all for now, enjoy!
