What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

Picked up 75017 today, finally have seen some of the new sets in store, going to try and pace myself out on this lot
  7. No it's not, he meant go in, buy a second set at the discounted price, then go back later and get a refund for your original receipt purchase at full price. On another note: I haven't seen any of the new sets around all my haunts in NSW so far, hoping my local 2 TRU get them for the sale on the weekend
  8. I went into Target Roselands today to look at the Brickmaster books, hoping for a couple more star wars for myself and friends ones for the nieces, they had one Ninjagogo one that is all.

give some tips for beginner collector :)

one small tip for the serious collector legos is not a word, LEGO is the plural of LEGO. ie: I went and bought a heap of Lego this week, all sorts of Lego sets that come with a heap of different Lego bricks and figures other than that, buy what you enjoy and try and stay within budget, the try part is entirely up to you though.
  10. I went up to Roselands Target tonight, was pretty empty and they had a stack of AA on the shelves, grabbed myself one, last purchase for this month after the HH, Myer and Big W spends

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

I received in the mail the Tie Crawler today, It was a bargain on ebay. I was the only bidder, box was a bit banged up but it was sealed, the build was a bit weird and i'm not sure I like it, but the Dark Troopers are a bonus on thier own
  14. Picked up the Town Square and Tree House on Big W, got the Family House from Myer today with a box of switch tracks. Big W when I finally got on was only doing layby on the Family house. I'm not interested in waiting for my Lego. :) Also inquired at Target Roselands for the AA, nothing on shelves and they said will be out with the sale. They did have one R2 on the shelf however. Interesting thing I noticed yesterday at Dymocks in Sydney, they had a lot more Lego in stock and even had the old Red passenger train and the Yellow Cargo train, no sale prices though
  15. Costco at Auburn NSW has a few sets at good prices: Creator 31009 for $28.79, City 60008 for $63.99 and Friends cafe (not many) for $35.49

Wacky & Weird Locomotive Challenge - the Winners!

Oh Nice, thanks all for the votes, first build I have done in ages of a MOC, let alone a train. So much skill on this site it's very inspiring to see what can be achieved.

    MOC: Chancellor's Office

While this is bad for a bump, I have only just now seen Oky's creation and can't believe no comment has been made on the fact his MOC looks so much better then the one Lego finally released.

    [MOC] Imperial Turbolaser Turret

Really nice, I love the design an scale, looks awesome
  23. So what to create when you have heaps of Star Wars and a bit of train gear, A LEGO Star Wars Train of course, this is a bit of a work in progress and the effort below I am pretty happy with. The astromech bay was an accident in the design that I wasn't sure how to fill, but came up well, original idea was for an semi exposed engine works. The top turret i think needs some work, but wanted to knock in some defense mechanism as a starter. Side skirts will extend the length of the engine, since there are not may vehicles that use wheels in the SW universe and all rely on gravity drive, it is what I want to convey using the skirts. A few more carriages would also be nice, a detention carriage, and a medical one is current thoughts. The cargo carriage I am thinking of loading up with battle droids as a cross over from clone wars to OT since in no way is this a canon set, more for a playability point for my son. 25. IMG_0889 by Fenaughty, on Flickr Update on the engine, finished the skirts, I had to narrow them down to 2 studs from 4 as they hit the track switches. Speeder bike carriage was added with a refueling point on the deck, extra photos are now in the slideshow
