Who plays batman in the Lego Movie?

The likely reason for the multiple answers is because Batman is played by different people in the different movies. The ones in the “LEGO movie” series are will arnett, but the cheaper, direct to dvd movies use someone else, if not multiple other people, who I’m not sure the names of. He was also voiced by different actors in the games based on the LEGO movies and the LEGO dc games, which may add to the list.

    LEGO Ninjago 2020

I’ve only seen the smaller sets at Walmart (one Walmart had the fire-stone mech and that’s the biggest of anything that showed up) targets have been stocking them consistently though in my area, all of them have atleast most of the sets.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

For now, we know that flying bark studios is producing at least 2 seasons of the show (it’s unknown if they got picked up for 2 after the pilot or 2 MORE after a season 1 that they’re already working on.), and it’s HIGHLY unlikely LEGO would sink the money in to production if they weren’t going to make sets. Plus, there are still a couple villains introduced in the pilot who haven’t hit sets yet, and one of the heroes too. all in all I’d be very surprised if this wasn’t continuing for a good while. Atleast a 3 year series if I had to guess.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Considering they’ve now ordered multiple seasons of the cartoon, and the stuff said about crazy turnout for the launch events, and the “bonus” 4 set wave releasing just a few months afterword, I would guess they are doing pretty well so far in China. lego listens to fan complaints pretty frequently too, so I’m sure by now they’ve heard the want for smaller sets and will likely make them. One thing you can get from that documentary is that the second wave of sets was developed with the first and held back a few months for whatever reason. They present the flaming foundry and cloud roadster as if they were part of wave 1 in that special. I think that goes a long way to explain why they “didn’t listen” to fans saying they wanted small sets yet, since they’ve not shown anything yet that was designed after the series initial reveal. so for now, I’d say things are looking pretty good for the future of the theme. it’s got room to grow, sure, and time will tell how the so far positive western reception will impact the release of future waves or media, But it’s quickly gaining a following, the designers are putting out some stellar models, and the people working on the show are making some solid content.

The documentary thing that was released did show the animated version of kid wearing a helmet and, presumably, a new outfit to go along with it. Hopefully those make it into sets.

    More LEGO Ghostbusters in 2020?

Promo image of the original 4 ghostbusters and ideas ecto 1 fighting a non-LEGO stay puft has shown up on legos instagram. That combined with the gb’s being the first ever licensed characters in LEGO legacy is definitely lending credence to the idea that the line isn’t finished just yet.
  7. It was hated for being, largely, everything bad about thunder cats, with few of the redeeming qualities, a bad tv show that managed to alienate fans of both the (at the time) current thundercats and ninjago, being seen as a lackluster attempt to replace both without understanding what made either good. the show was awful, with grating voices, unlikable characters, botched drug allegories, inconsistent tone, and a predictable story (oh, the conflict of the season is over, but the villains throw the chi away to where the NEW villains are, rinse-repeat) the sets on the other hand, start off great. Then they keep going. And going. And going. With similar parts and homogenous designs for each tribe. I get that the gimmick is “the vehicles look like the animal!” But man it got old, especially once the garish orange fire add-ons got introduced. Oh you have 7 vehicles shaped like a lion already? How about MORE OF THAT, but with WORSE COLORS. While the builds are solid on their own, it just felt like wave after wave of very similar vehicles with very similar minifigs. while similar problems would crop up in themes like nexo knights (similar colors and unfitting accents in some waves) or ninjago (repetitive themes for some story arcs), chima got hit with it essentially right out of the gate, not giving people the time or motivation to get invested in the characters or story to a point where they could look past those things. As 1 dimensional as the characters of nexo could be, they were decently voiced, had good, if standard, plots to react to, and each had a distinct personality, without introducing so many characters you can’t keep track of. As repetitive as ninjago could be at its worst, by the time it hit That point the Characters were fleshed out enough that a whole season could get by on how the focus character is dealing with that problem/villain differently than other characters (contrast the tournament of elements to skybound, both have a quirky antagonist crew picking off the ninja one by one, but since one focused on Kai and one on jay, they ended up very different, one deconstructing the “designated main character” tropes, and one focused on “what happens if you break the comic relief character” chima on the other hand came out of the gate with a TON of characters all vying for attention, starting off with a betrayal plot that doesn’t work because we don’t KNOW the characters yet. It felt bloated and weird, as if there were missing chapters to the story, and again, I can’t get over the voices, watching More than a few episodes of the show At a time gave me headaches. tldr, and sorry about the wall of text: Add together too many characters to actually care about starting out, botched morals, pissing off multiple potential fan groups by releasing at a bad time, repetitive builds with garish gimmick-overdosed “fire and ice” add ons later, and you get legends of chima. A series who’s good ideas were constantly buried under strange missteps and a combination of all the major problems LEGO themes face at once.

    LEGO Ninjago 2020

Yeah I can definitely see the fire-stone mech being miscommunicated as “stone mech with one half covered by fire” or something similar to that, leading to the show crew seeing “all stone mech but with magma and fire covering one side” and the set team seeing “mech that is half themed to earth and half themed to fire”

Bull king is just a large brick built figure, but yeah other than him it’s all vehicles, even if some of the vehicles pull double duty as a base or have environments as side builds.

    Dream Lego Licensed Themes

Mostly agree With your points, as much as I want it to happen it’s not realistic, unless the odd amount of new merch for the show is because of plans for a new one after the movie (those “fright feature” figs for afterlife certainly do have a cartoonish art style, like halfway between real and the idw comics...) the similar products thing I do disagree with though. although all the playmobil stuff says real ghostbusters on it and uses the cartoons as character Design inspiration, all the sets are original vehicles to playmobil, leaving stuff like the toon ecto 1, 2, 3, ichi, aquatic ecto-1, any of the large ghosts, or play sets bases on any of the locations actually from the show (power plants, labs, etc.) as fair game.

    Dream Lego Licensed Themes

I would absolutely love a wave of “real ghostbusters” sets. They’ve got a lot of material to work with, with more vehicles and large ghosts that could be brick built than the movies had, and the colorful jumpsuits and blue proton packs would be distinct variants from the movie minifigs. Plus they’ve already got the ghostbusters license so doing a wave based on the show instead of the movie shouldn’t be impossible, and with playmobil and hasbro both releasing products based on the toon, those designs will be back in fresh circulation.

    LEGO Hidden Side 2020

The entries on the website are written “in character” so things are usually played off a bit more joking-ly than they usually portray in the series. also, remember the writer of the series did say earlier this year that there would be more shorts “and the main event” while talking about hidden side (Before the wave 2 shorts aired) on twitter, so it’s possible that this new threat will also see hidden side graduate beyond just shorts and get a direct to video movie or longer episodes to work with. Given the more positive views I’ve been seeing about the new sets online (most negativity I’ve seen is just directed at the car and occasionally the sub, with the bus and locations getting favorable reviews so far.), I could see hidden side growing into its own a bit more with another wave or two and really living up to its potential. I just hope we get more brick built baddies like the version of the harbinger from the bus set. Would love to see a four armed monster or something like mothman...

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

I just can’t agree with the statements made here about the show. Yes, not everything was fully explained, but this is also very clearly not all there is. I mean the intro itself showed like 5 villains who don’t appear in these episodes, this is not the whole story. This was a pilot, for a show meant to sell toys, of course they have to show all the current sets in it. ninjago did the exact same thing and arguably worse, considering several of them weren’t even remotely close to their set designs in that (blacksmith shop, earth dragon, etc.) and here they are atleast recognizable, if a bit more stylized. the story was simple but made sense as a starting off point, introduced our main heroes and villains, introduced an ongoing conflict, and showed off the powers for everyone who has powers. They kept it lighthearted and fun, and the animation was slick and constantly moving. As someone who loves cartoons, i can say it did a fine job as a pilot, and did everything it needed to to set up the main series, while leaving enough things open ended, like sandy and pigsy’s past, or mei’s powers, to give them something to explore later. the only part I felt really needed more explanation put in was the mech at the end, but from the looks of it, it seemed to be similar to a cartoonified version of a “master builder” creation from the movies, so I can give it a pass and see if they do more with that power later. I dunno, I can see why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but I can also see this becoming very popular, especially in regions more familiar with the original monkey king stories. in terms of the sets, I do agree they need some more smaller sets in the next wave, and I’m pretty sure we will get them. Given the number of additional villains shown in the intro, I’m sure they have plans for atleast a couple more waves of this, and they will see the complaints about the price. I don’t really agree that the sets are over priced for the content given, aside from the bull tank and mei’s bike, as all the ones I’ve gotten so far have been bigger than anticipated and absolutely lovely builds, but I honestly feel they should’ve maybe left the monkey mech for wave 2 so the line didn’t feel so unbalanced.

    [MOC] Johnny Thunder flies again!

At this rate with the prices of cmf I’d love it if they would start coming with little builds like this. Great moc dude!

    Monkie Kid TV Show Thread

God I hope not Cartoon Network, they still haven’t even started advertising prime empire, let alone airing it, while the season 13 ninjago sets are starting to hit shelves. Not to mention how they treated nexo, and chima, and every third party show they get that isnt titans go (mega man, sonic boom, transformers cyberverse, etc. all get 6-7am slots with no advertising, random release schedules, and will drop random, frequently out of order episodes on their app.) Nickelodeon isn’t much better, shafting all their shows to Nicktoons after less than 1 season when they don’t do spongebob/loud house viewership, including LEGO city adventures, lego Jurassic world, and rise of the tmnt (which shares a lot in tone and style to monkie kid) really the only good option there is for the show is a streaming service at this point, since networks right now are throwing everything they have to them anyway and not actually doing anything with their on air programming. I could see MK doing really well on Netflix given their huge emphasis on animated content recently. also on the subject of the show itself, I’m absolutely loving it so far. The pacing on the pilot was a bit off, but it’s just the pilot, I’m sure it’ll improve in the rest of the series. The characterization was really enjoyable, the action was great and, as a cartoonist, the design of the locations and vehicles was absolutely beyond expectations

    Ninjago villains and future

It’s not unprecedented, I mean we’ve had a hero from galaxy squad appear as a hero of ultra agents, power miners to Atlantis, and the ghost of an adventurers character under control of the villain for hidden side, plus clutch powers has become a recurring character for ninjago. It could happen.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

I’ve got the ship, inferno truck, and cloud jet. On the level of the fantastic ninjago movie sets honestly. The ship is one of the best “base” play sets Of any line recently and the closed form looks great on display, the jet is awesome and bigger than the box makes it seem, and you get so much with the inferno truck (4(3 plus a bicycle) vehicles, a bunch of figures, and a location. ive heard complaints about how the stickers are cut, but I’ve had no problems with them, and honestly despite the high prices, I feel like they’re all (of the ones I got at least), pretty much worth what’s being charged. Oh, and the figs are great. All the heroes and villains are Full of personality and the clone bulls make easy army building.

Seriously, it feels like every licensed theme gets an automatic pass while anything in-house is picked apart for scraps nowadays.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

It seems highly likely we will get more locations both for the bulls and of the city the show takes place in. Looking at the current sets, the bull fort in the bike set includes pins at both sides of it, as well as the ability to separate it into 3 modules which all have connections to 2 sides. In the king mech set, the same dual pin connectors are used for the noodle shop/apartment, with a corner of sidewalk that has pins on 2 sides. I’m assuming the same will be true of the convenience store in the inferno truck. The sets also seem to be better than any other action theme so far in terms of giving us civilians to save, so it would be logical that more civilians will require more buildings to fill out. I doubt they would have done this using a dual pin connector instead of the single pin that themes like creator and modular use if they didn’t expect to develop more into that system of buildings. I’d expect atleast one or two more side build buildings in the next wave if not a full set of some important show location we haven’t seen yet, and atleast one fort set for the bulls that can be expanded with that entrance gate. Given the size of sets this wave, I’m almost expecting some kind of battle set based on the show with a few smaller vehicles And buildings the same way city puts out the various city square/doughnut shop/whatever sets. if we don’t get anymore, I’ll atleast be mocing up some more locations from the show or adapting the given builds into my (Ninjago styled) city somehow.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Yeah I’d take every hero having new unique parts with just clone villains over all the heroes having the same outfit with color variants. especially since even in the clone villains there’s still some variants, like the one with grey instead of purple, the one with the bent horn, red son, the sorcerer girl who’s name I don’t know, and the bull king with his giant mech-like body
  22. Are there any other pics of the “rusting Junkbot” that show if he maybe has a face on there? as for wether it is real or not, in the designer video they mention it being like a legoland park if I’m remembering correctly. That would imply that in universe it’s based on the adventurers LEGO series as fiction, not based on “real people”.
  23. 21 out of 30 ideas sets so far have been IP related, counting the nasa/ real company ip’s. It’s time to just face the music at this point that ideas is not viable for this kind of thing. It’s an IP testing ground above all else. if we want to see LEGO return to original space sets, we need to support them doing original sets in general. Hidden side, ninjago, monkie kid, those are the things that tell LEGO “keep experimenting, keep trying things”. And although maybe not suitable for classic space, look at those themes, take away the original characters, and look at the stuff they have to offer. Just as an example, the cloud jet from monkie kid. It’s a very sci-fi flying vehicle, with a function to split its cockpit off into a motorcycle. That would work stupendously one sci fi settings. So would the hoverboard in the horse-motorcycle set. So would tons of the nexo knights sets, with minimal changes. Even ninjago, while usually sticking to a fairly distinct style, has waves like prime empire that feature tons of great sci fi vehicles. lego will see what people actually buy. If nobody is voting space on ideas, and nobody is buying sci fi related sets other than star wars, then we’re gonna get another 20 years of bland grey And white Star Wars ships.

    LEGO Ninjago 2020

It’s played both ways. You can use The paper game board or just the sets, or use both together. That way the smaller sets still give you a full playable game despite their limited size. Pop together all the sets into the full game and you won’t need the paper to get a longer game out of it, but if you just get the dragon it the journey set, they wouldn’t exactly give you enough of a board to be fun on their own. This way people who can only get the smaller sets aren’t missing out.

    LEGO Monkie Kid 2020

Remember the initial reveal of the trademark Or whatever for the theme? Everything from “stationary” to “sports equipment“ was listed, whatever this theme is it’s going to be huge, and unless it absolutely tanks right out of the gate, it’ll probably stick around for a while. also we don’t know that this is replacing hidden side, that’s all just speculation. Hidden side finished it’s first chapter and is just starting its second one, we have no actual evidence saying it’s being canceled.
