Future of SW Contest Winners Announcement!

Really enjoyed this contest, my first ever - and my first ever MOC, which I think earn't me 10 votes? (be nice to know what place that was too) Thank you all for the voters, very inspiring, can't wait for the next Building Drive or Contest And Congratulations to the Winners, great stuff!
  4. This is my Entry for the Action Themes Building Drive - Wonderful Things. The story... Adventurer "Iowa" Fortune has finally succeeded in his quest to locate the mythical shield of fabled Knight of the Round Table, Sir Lancelot. It is said to grant the bearer the strength of three men, and the power to persuade Queens from their Kings... Jungle Adventurer finds the Lost Treasure by mjfirefly, on Flickr Iowa has travelled to the ruins of the ancient castle using a map found in an a monastery in France. The castle was built in the jungles of Madagascar by a group of monks entrusted to the keeping of the Shield... Complete view of Jungle Adventurer vignette by mjfirefly, on Flickr However, Iowa was not the first to locate the wonderful treasure, the bleached bones of a previous explorer lay under the collapsed floor of the castle. The final hurdle for Iowa is to leap the chasm and not fall fowl of the drop... Close Up of the first Adventurer to find the Treasure by mjfirefly, on Flickr Our intrepid explorer will certainly succeed and lay his hands upon the shield as it teeters on the edge of the ruins - and then, of course, it belongs in a museum.

  11. Here is my take on the Future of Star Wars: Star Wars - Episode VII 'Twilight Dawning' In this scene, Han Solo & Princess Leia Organa-Solo have chased down a new Bounty Hunter, Kal Durusk, into a small subsidary section of Bespin's Cloud City. Kal has the plans to a new weapon that will make life difficult for the Skywalkers...problem is Han and Leia are getting a little long in the tooth, and Kal looks to be escaping! Han pauses to catch his breath, and leans hard on his walking stick. He faces camera and breaking the fourth wall states,"We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness", while Leia attempts to focus her blaster rifle on the fleeing Bounty Hunter, only to have to pause to rearrange her glasses on her nose. Will the old Rebels manage to capture the Bounty Hunter? Or will they realise that their twilight years are upon them, and give it up in order to spend more time with the grandchildren... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 1 by mjfirefly, on Flickr This pic shows the vignette as first built, Kal's blaster can be seen poking out to one side! Please, also note the Clone Trooper helmet. Han has a walking stick in one hand and blaster in the other, while Leia is in her most comfortable robe. Notice that Han has gone grey, and both the old Rebels need spectacles now... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at the old Rebels, with Kal Durusk making a swift getaway. The clouds of Bespin can be seen out through the pressurised window. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Elderly Han & Leia by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at Han and Leia, and the detail around the pressurised window. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Kal Durusk the Bounty Hunter by mjfirefly, on Flickr Kal Durusk, a new Yuuzhan Vong Bounty Hunter, expert with blaster and sword. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Interior by mjfirefly, on Flickr The interior of the vignette, the main centrepiece being the pressurised window, not unlike the one that Luke Skywalker shatters in his fight with Darth Vader in Cloud City. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Power Generator by mjfirefly, on Flickr A Power Generator, providing lighting. Notice the electrical wiring and interface couplers. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Window & Door by mjfirefly, on Flickr The door and exit for Kal Durusk, his ship waiting nearby amongst the swirling clouds of Bespin - notice the light indicating Exit... We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Elderly Han & Leia 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at Han and Leia, a little vaseline over the lens to hide the wrinkles... Leia is dressed in her most comfortable robe (following the fashions of the over 70s on Coruscant) and has favoured her original 'bagel' buns hairstyle - for ease of tying her hair back in her older years. Han is in his favourite black trousers and comfortable shirt - an old Rebel 'Endor' jacket completing the ensemble. He holds tightly to his walking stick, this fashioned from the tree that his dear departed Wookiee friend Chewbacca lived in on Kashyyyk, to always keep him close. More pics here:

    MOC: Microscale Mule from Serenity

As promised, I made this little Mule today from the movie 'Serenity'. It's not exactly what I wanted, but with the parts I had I think it works - I like the little crew! FAPC: Black Widow Interceptor

Here is my entry to the Forbidden Animal Planet Contest. The Giant Spider Colony of Arachnos V has had enough of the human incursion into their territory, so decide to attack an outpost on one of the smaller moons orbiting the planet. The humans are taken completely by surprise by the airborne assault, and the outpost is soon ablaze. Defensive cannons and anti-aircraft cannons fire up at the attacking Black Widow Interceptors manned (or should that be 'spidered'?) by the elite Red Guards, but damage to the Spider ships is minimal. Wolf Spider Stealth-Recon Ships flit over the battlefield, directing the Giant Spider Shock Troopers, but this infantry has to contend with the human's Main Battle Tank as it defends the bridgehead. Will the Giant Spiders succeed in their mission to retake their territory, or will the humans 'stamp' out this rebellion? Giant Spiders Attack! by mjfirefly, on Flickr Main Battle Tank - Microscale, with Giant Spider Pilot for reference by mjfirefly, on Flickr 'Wolf'' Spider Recon Ship by mjfirefly, on Flickr More pics can be found by clicking on any of the above pics which will take you to the relevant Flickr set. The Trotting Dead - Scootercide - 1 point (while the build may not be remarkable, the concept is fantastic, and the imaginative use of parts - like the arrow through the horsehead and the whips as belts - is great) so many wonderful entries, so hard to choose, so I selected what I felt were the best ones for either builds or part use. Congratulations to everyone, it's so wonderful to see it all, and inspiring for a newcomer to MOCing like me!

    Building Drive: Agent's Stealth Submarine

i was contemplating building a larger boat for it to zip out of... i might still :-)
  22. Here is my Secret Agent Stealth Submarine for the Building Drive, hope it's in time! For those necessary underwater incursions into Enemy Agent territory, the Stealth Sub comes equipped with quiet water drive, but speed propeller for fast getaways! Included in the sub are state of the art communications array, night vision sensor, underwater lamp, torpedo and harpoon firing systems and high-visibility deep pressure safe glass. There is also provision for equipment such as guns, knives, computer briefcases and spare SCUBA and breathing apparatus. Any Agent should be quite at home in this state of the art sub! Sci-Fi Month - Entries Guessing Game!

hmm, I'm going to go with 42 / 1138 / 1701 No where near I'm sure, but if everyone can guess the significance of those numbers in relation to sci-fi then I'll give them a... hearty round of applause.
