The Simpsons 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Morten's topic in LEGO Licensed
^ I'll be honest, having only been watching the Simpsons or about 10 years, I've not noticed the drop in quality as much as people who have been watching it for far longer will have noticed. What I have noticed though is that each series has less and less episodes which I want to watch/re-watch, so I suppose that is evidence of the quality dropping. But the show has been around for so long now, so what is to be expected? -
What is your favourite and least favourite Super Heroes Minifigure?
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Godtshep's topic in LEGO Licensed
Seeing as I neglected to mention it last time, my favourite Marvel minifigure is, from the ones currently available, Falcon. I really like the balance between accuracy and detailing seen on the minifigure. However, my favourite will change to Star-Lord once the GotG sets come out. He looks excellent, and I absolutely love that amazing mask he has. I also forgot to mention my least favourite DC minifigure last time. Colonel Hardy is my least favourite, simply because he is s bland and in Man of Steel was really quite an uninteresting character. -
The Simpsons 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Morten's topic in LEGO Licensed
^ Regardless of the story, I don't see how the use of normal heads that make these minifigures look terrible is at all funny. It's also somewhat naïve to say that the moulded heads won't make sense for the story: if it is really a dream then Homer could just as easily imagine everyone having moulded heads. To me, everything about this episode screams a lack of budget and a lack of effort, which is a major disappointment. -
Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
^ The general consensus is that the mystery set is likely to be either the Ghostbusters set, the '66 Batmobile or the Mini that we are reportedly getting soon. At this stage though, nothing can really be ruled out. For all we know, this could be a set that no one has heard even the faintest rumour of yet.- 9756 replies

The Simpsons 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Those pictures from the episode are all completely awful. I want to watch this, but it looks so bad I'll be surprised if I am able to actually endure it all. This is very disappointing. -
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
These are good posters, even if they don't show much. However, they were revealed quite a while ago. Speaking of such, I am really quite surprised that someone has only just posted them within this thread. -
^ From what I've heard, it's probably just an extended trailer or an extended scene from the film rather than anything overly ground-breaking. Whatever it ends up being I think, if I end up seeing ASM 2 at all, I won't bother staying through the credits to see some footage that is probably not even anything special. I can gladly wait a month or so after this comes out tomorrow to see Days of Future Past.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
I would be extremely disappointed if TLG didn't exclude some exclusive minifigure with the '66 Batmobile (assuming they are even making one, which we don't know for sure yet). It would really make the set a complete waste of time and money. If they're going to make a fan-favourite model such as this, they have to provide people with some additional incentive to buy the set. An ideal set needs a good build AND good minifigures. If it's just a good Batmobile build with non-exclusive minifigures, then what's the point of it? But enough speculation. Has it been verified what the UK prices for the GotG sets are going to be?- 9756 replies

I really doubt that this situation will affect the movie at all. For the most part, people are unconcerned about who is directing the movie (unless it's someone like M. Night Shymalan, so they know to avoid the movie) and there's no guarantee everyone even knows who the director is, or about this case. Unless I've not been paying attention, I've seen very little coverage of this on the news today, so this may not end up affecting the film at all, unless the case gains more publicity by the time that the film is released. *EDIT* 500 posts!

Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Based on the fact that the calendar states that the new set available to VIPs starting from 15th May is an exclusive, I think it's almost a certainty that the set in question is the Ghostbusters set which is being released in June. Obviously people are anticipating a '66 Batmobile after seeing that image from yesterday, but even if we are getting one I can't see it happening until the 2015 wave. Patience people, the set a lot of you seem to want will arrive soon enough (probably).- 9756 replies

I haven't heard anything about this unknown May reveal that everyone is talking about, so what is the source for this reveal that we are supposed to be getting? If it is a Super Heroes set I wouldn't be surprised if it was this '66 Batmobile, but I would personally much prefer a Winter Soldier set or something like that.- 9756 replies

That latest image is nowhere near as terrible as any of the others we have had from this episode so far. However, the designs being used for this episode are still dreadful, particularly with the ears and nose being printed on the head. Is it really necessary to have printed ears and nose. -

Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Suspsy's topic in LEGO Licensed
I hate to say it, but I find Moon Knight unlikely to happen any time soon. I also doubt that we will get General Ross, Egghead or Carnage's human alter-ego (whose name I cannot remember). -
The Hobbit movies discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to SheepEater's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I would be disappointed if they changed the name of the final film now, seeing as There and Back Again is such a fitting title for the final film in the trilogy. Into the Fire really does not fit as the title for the final film. It may have fit for the second film, but it's probably just a title for a video game or something rather than a new title for the final film, or at least I hope it is. -
About that X-Men DofP footage shown after the credits of ASM2, I don't understand why Sony would be advertising a Fox film in their own film, but I'm not too concerned about this development personally. After all, I'm not even sure I'll be able to see ASM2 yet, and even if I did I wouldn't end up staying after the credits anyway; there's no real incentive for me to do so like there is with Marvel Studios films.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
In all honesty, the only way I would be interested in a new Batmobile (regardless of which version) would be if it contained a special exclusive minifigure of some sort. Obviously there would be a Batman variant, but to really appeal to me it would need something unique like Killer Moth or Green Arrow or Deathstroke or something else along those lines. If not, I'll end up passing on the next Batmobile, regardless of which version it is. I must admit that I would prefer the Arkham Knight Batmobile, but if we get the '66 version then so be it.- 9756 replies

This is an interesting development, but I'm wondering if there is any kind of official source for this? I can't really convince myself to believe that this is true without some proof; it just seems so unlikely that something like this would actually happen.

The Simpsons 2014 Rumors & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Morten's topic in LEGO Licensed
If it meant we could see the moulded heads in the animation rather than what we are actually getting, I would much prefer this episode to be delayed. However, it is evident that this episode is being released to tie in with the theme itself, so a release push-back is not going to happen at this stage. -

^ The other buildings are probably just generic Springfield businesses rather than anything of importance, and LEGO jokes are pretty much guaranteed. -

I was unaware about next year being Batman's 75th anniversary, in which case releasing an iconic Batmobile design is probably a smart move, even if the line has already had so many Batmobiles as it is. As for the Tumbler, I hope we don't get another minifigure-scale version after last year's awful version. They might as well go UCS if they really feel the need to do another Tumbler. I do hope that next year gives us more character variety in the DC line for once (ie: not rehashing villains from the old line and more non-Batman characters).- 9756 replies

I understand that the 1966 Batmobile is iconic and whatnot, but do we really need yet another Batmobile? We already have so many, so it would just be a waste of a set to have another one, regardless of how iconic it is. This lends more credibility to the idea that DC need to give LEGO more ideas to work from so that we actually get some variety from the DC line. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens from here, seeing as LEGO have had to come up with an entirely new wave for next year after Batman vs. Superman was moved forwards to 2016.- 9756 replies

It's a bit odd of me to say this, but perhaps it was decided to go with those designs to show how the actual products are so much better and how LEGO did the right thing in going with moulded heads rather than normal heads as some people desired them to? -

From those details we can see, I think Shredder has a different face, but it is very similar to Lex Luthor and doesn't really represent William Fichtner very well. That said, the movie Shredder looks even better than I had expected, and what we can see of Raphael looks very good as well. I'm not certain, but it looks like his bandana/mask has little indents in the side which shades/googles can be placed on. If so, that's even better considering he wears shades in the movie. Let's hope the rest of the minifigures are as good.
