Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
The smallest set is AWFUL. When I first saw it, I thought "Iron Man is fighting a hobo in an over-sized, fire-breathing shopping trolley?". As for the other sets, I think they are good for the price range. The problem seems to be the names of the sets more than anything, as they are awfully misleading. The War Machine set is another example of a very good £20 (or so I assume) Super Heroes set and the Mansion is pretty good for the price range and fairly recognisable. I'll be interested to see pictures of the other two Superman sets emerge online so I can start planning my spendings. When pictures of those come around, I will not judge based on names that give false expectations of massive sets; I will judge based on the content of the sets. -
Well. I'm glad that the Crater Creeper was actually at the Toy Fair, but in my opinion it is very bad compared to all the other sets in this theme. I can understand why we didn't get any pictures or videos of it before the one posted above now. Even so, the other sets are looking all the more cooler, especially the Hive Crawler. It's too bad that I have to wait until the summer to see these sets on shelves .

It is too early to have head about any possible Castle D2C set as of yet. To be honest, I don't think we will get one in the first wave anyways. If we were to though, I highly doubt it would be a monastery or medieval chateau, partly to do with religion but predominantly to do with the fact that TLG don't seem to care much about historical accuracy in these Castle sets. After all, the kids are the target audience, not us.

Legends of Chima 2013

Which three were available? I imagine whichever three were available in the US will be available in the UK in the upcoming (according to Brickset) LEGO promotion in the Sun newspaper. -
Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine

When is it likely that we will see pictures of this? Will we get a picture early or will it not come until the set actually comes out? -
Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Season 5 Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to LEGOman273's topic in Culture & Multimedia
IF Ahsoka dies in this arc (and I personally think that this is a very big IF), what I will be most interested in seeing is how much of an affect this has on Anakin. What is certain is that he will seek revenge on Ahsoka's killer and probably kill him/her, but apart from that it is hard to predict what will happen. Well, I'll be sure to keep in touch with this arc to see how it plays out and see if Ahsoka finally meets her end or not. -
LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't believe this picture embargo stuff for a second. There is no need to not show off pictures of these sets until April; the movies have been out for years so pretty much everyone knows the story. The same applies to Star Wars, except for that Yoda Chronicles set which is still fairly shrouded in mystery. I can, however, understand the Super Heroes embargo as the Summer sets are all based off upcoming movies. But then, by that logic, wouldn't the Lone Ranger sets also have a picture embargo on them? Either way, hopefully we get pictures of these LOTR sets from the New York Toy Fair when that comes around. I'm still hoping for better views of the actual sets and some of the minifigures.- 7500 replies

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I personally think that we have had enough of Ewoks for the moment. If LEGO are going to give us such massive sets, it would be better if we got something much more desirable such as Cloud City . Even so, it will be interesting to see just how LEGO pull off the Ewok Village at the rumoured price of £200. -
I don't think that the Crater Creeper (the set we saw nothing of at the Toy Fair) is an exclusive. If it was we wouldn't have seen the preliminary picture of it in the retail catalogue.

Single Pane Action Theme Funnies
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Amset-Rah's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Apparently you misunderstood my previous post. I never said that I didn't think that everyone else was making good funnies, because everyone here has, as you say, made very good funnies. What I said was that I think that Oky has made the best so far. I apologise if this comes across as rude as that is not what I am trying to be. -
It's interesting that we are seeing a fair bit more of the minifigures than the actual sets from the Toy Fairs. Heck, we still haven't seen anything of one of the sets yet. Which bids the question: where was it at the Nuremberg Toy Fair? Why did no one get pictures of it? Hopefully we get more pictures of the sets at the New York Toy Fair when that comes around.

Single Pane Action Theme Funnies
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Amset-Rah's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am loving some of Oky's funnies that he has contributed, especially the Chuck Norris one. Of course, everyone else makes good funnies but Oky has proven across several threads like this that he is the master at the funnies, and this group is just as good as the rest. -

It would be awesome if the car looked exactly like that or very similar to that . Surely TLG can manage something along those lines to blow us all away. -
Have you ever bought LEGO in "secret"?
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to purpleparadox's topic in Community
Only once have I ever bought LEGO in secret. That was when I went on a school trip to France a few years back. The purchase itself wasn't particularly secret but the fact that it was for me was a secret to everyone but one other person. To everyone else I lied and said the set (8423 World Grand Prix Racing Rivalry) was for a younger cousin who was into Cars and LEGO and had a birthday coming up. To be honest, I'm not sure if that even counts as buying LEGO in secret. Thankfully I rarely have to do it now as almost all of my family and my GF all accept my hobby to some extent. Only my step-dad has any slight problems with me buying LEGO. He occasionally gives me the "You're too old for LEGO now." speech, at which point I direct him here and explain to him that everyone here is an adult who likes LEGO. That usually shuts him up. -
Apparently pictures of these sets were not allowed at Nuremberg. However, pictures of these sets may be allowed at the New York toy Fair in a few days time. I'm hoping that is the case anyways because I really want to see these sets as they would look in the flesh rather than from a retailer's catalogue.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is EXACTLY why I am excited for the new Maul. I think the Clone Wars version of him looks awesome compared to his Episode 1 version, which I have the LEGO minifigure of. It will be most intriguing to see how LEGO have done his cybernetic legs, as these are the most important feature of that specific incarnation of Darth Maul. -
LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I don't think that the Sail Barge (which I think is awful BTW) will be that expensive, as such a price (if my knowledge of US pricing is at all accurate) is generally reserved for the largest set of the Star Wars summer wave. This summer, the largest set is the Republic Gunship (I think). -
What if you had a machine that could make any LEGO piece, set, or mini
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to ToastyLlama's topic in Community
I would use it to make all the sets I wanted and missed due to my relatively low budget. I would also use it to make extras of some sets I own for the sake of army building and resale. -
We have box art for the rest of the sets of the theme in the above link. I must say that the Dragon Mountain box art looks ominous and amazing. The others look really bright and the actual sets look out of place on such a bright background. There are also other Castle set pictures in that photostream if you look through it.

Legends of Chima 2013
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the link to that photostream. The Combat Lair is looking better and better every time I see it! I'm also loving the box art on Gorzan's Gorilla Striker. I never thought I would buy a Speedorz set, but some of the minifigures they are including in them (Lagravis, Furty and Skinnet) make them too good to resist. Bring on Summer 2013! -
LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 10 Discussion
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to CM4Sci's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I don't think we will get any pictures of these from Nuremberg or New York, as the Toy Fairs never seem to showcase future series of Collectable Minifigures for some reason.- 1076 replies

Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Future™ Time Machine

While that is a possibility, I think that something on the scale you suggest is extremely unlikely based on past Cuusoo sets. -

Furty, Skinnet and all the other new minifigures are all looking very interesting. Also, has anyone else noticed that Skinnet's and Furty's helmets are the same mould but painted differently? I also imagine that their tails will be the same mould as well. -

Wow! Worriz's Combat Lair looks brilliant and is certainly a definite purchase for me. Eglor's Twin Bike is a nice vehicle, but it's unfortunate that it doesn't come with any new minifigures . -
Legends of Chima 2013
Lord Rahl of Clannad replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Has anyone else noticed that Skinnet has short printed legs in the TV show yet his minifigure has long legs instead? It's a shame that LEGO are apparently unable to add printing to short minifigure legs. Even so, all of those minifigures look great. As for the sets, Eglor's Twin Bike looks a lot better than I anticipated, the CHI Temple looks interesting and I have already discussed my opinion of Gorzan's Gorilla Striker. I'm still waiting for a good view of Worriz's Combat Lair though.
