    Goodbye Shell. Hello Mobil.

Mobil also has gas stations in the USA as well (They were once called Socony, a.k.a. Standard Oil Company of New York). If they did make LEGO gas stations/truck stops/tow trucks/oil tankers featuring Exxon and Mobil, maybe they could include both gas station designs, including Mobil (blue canopy with Pegasus mascot) and alternate Exxon station model build (red canopy with Tiger mascot). If LEGO went ahead with the ExxonMobil license, LEGO would include both the Exxon station's and Mobil station's design on the box (Exxon on front of box, Mobil on back), and two sheets of stickers, as well as extra colored bricks representing each brand's canopy (red for Exxon, blue for Mobil with round plate featuring the Pegasus mascot), they would likely use Esso brand in Europe and Mobil (without the alternate Exxon model) in Australia and New Zealand. Ideas for models include: * Service Station/Convenience Store with Gas Pumps * Oil Tankers * Truck Stop * Tow Truck * Car Wash ...But unfortunately after that disaster with Shell and Greenpeace, I do think LEGO should just stick to branding their gas stations as Octan (for LEGO System/Duplo/Technic/Dacta) or FUEL 4 Speed (LEGO Tiny Turbos).

What licensed themes would you like to see?

I know LEGO is doing a Scooby Doo license, other Hanna-Barbera (a divsion of Warner Bros.) licenses I would like to see next: * The Flintstones * The Jetsons * Dexter's Laboratory * The Powerpuff Girls

    In the Dojo

Wax on, wax off. (a "Karate Kid" reference) Great MOC, Kai NRG!
  4. If I had a choice between these two LEGO Town sets from the DIVERS subtheme, I'd either go with: The 1782 Discovery Station: OR... The 6560 Diving Expedition Explorer: ...But if I were to pick just one, it would be 6560 Diving Expedition Explorer because it includes a large boat (the largest boat in the entire subtheme), a mini-sub, a raft, a seascape to explore, a crew consisting of four scuba divers, a boat captain, and a mini-sub pilot, as well as diving gear, and some sea creatures including sharks, stingrays, and octopuses. other features include a skeleton Conquistador guarding some sunken treasure.

    Discontinued and ongoing licensed themes?

And if they were to make a Sandy's Treedome building set in the SpongeBob theme they would have to bring back this piece, previously seen only in LEGO Space and in Aquazone Hydronauts: ...unless they just release her tree-house, picnic table and hamster wheel. One of the the things LEGO overlooked when redesigning Sandy's air helmet was the pink flower, which they left out of the design at the last minute before releasing the Glove World set to the general public.

    [MOC] Darth Vader's sail barge

Great MOC! I like how it incorporates lots of Star Wars references, as well as references to other themes. I'm afraid that if Vader gets off his barge, that he'll get sand in his mask!

    Your dream Lego theme

I would like to see LEGO continue with their Nickelodeon licence by including these themes alongside their already-popular SpongeBob SquarePants sets: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Power Rangers Samurai The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 2 (movie coming in 2014; a subtheme of LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants)

    Your dream Lego theme

I would love to see Nickelodeon's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in LEGO form (fingers crossed for Nickelodeon to extend their licensing range from SpongeBob to TMNT, since Mirage Studios sold the rights to Nickelodeon), including some sets based on, but not limited to: *The 1987 series (a.k.a. "Hero Turtles" in the UK) **The Technodrome **The Turtle Party Wagon **The Sewers **Channel 6 Mobile Newsroom **Turtle Blimp *The 2003 series *The upcoming 2012 series
  9. The problem with that, is that they would have to swap out his satchel for a full beard.

    Disney 2012 Discussion Thread

Actually, Disney came up with the idea first, with a cartoon "Susie the Little Blue Coupe" in the 1950s. The cars in Cars/Cars 2 have the "windshield eyes" that were first used in the 1952 film. More about Susie the Little Blue Coupe here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Susie_the_Little_Blue_Coupe
  11. Both sets look fun and I'm really looking forward to buying them once they are available. I also have yet to buy this year's sets (yes, I have a lot of catching up to do.). The only thing thing that would improve the party set is the inclusion of Sandy. I like that all the characters are wearing leis and flowers, giving the set a Hawaiian party theme.

    Review - 3648 Police Chase

The police car reminds me of the Gadgetmobile from the Inspector Gadget cartoon.

    REVIEW: 6399 Airport Shuttle

This is a great review for a set that just happens to be out my price range. So many play features in one set. If only I had enough money for this set...

30121 Cars polybag handed out in Sweden

I would like to buy this set once it is available at Toys "R" Us.
  15. These new LEGO SpongeBob sets have some potential for those Town MOCers out there considering that the ice cream pieces in new colors are perfect for ice cream parlors. And for those Space/Sci-fi MOCers, the space gun in the Heroic Heroes set would be a great weapon for your spacemen.

    Your dream Lego theme

How about if Lego was in talks with Pepsi about releasing Pepsi-branded building sets under the City theme? One set could include a Pepsi delivery truck with Pepsi delivery guy, and a payload of minifig-sized cans of Pepsi products including Pepsi, diet Pepsi, Mtn Dew, Sierra Mist, and Pepsi Max. The set will also include a dolly to carry the payload, as well as a Pepsi vending machine to fill with the cans. (I'm sure Lightningtiger also likes this idea)

MOC: We need more flame units!

It's "Toy Story 4: Toys Gone Wild"!
  18. I don't get it either. Why does the Sandy fig in the photo you posted have no flower on her helmet, where the Sandy fig found in FBTB's pictures has one? I don't know. Maybe the photo was shot between the time the preliminary box art and FBTB's photos were taken, which explains why the flower is missing. Or, maybe it was a sticker, and they may have forgot to apply it (let's hope it's not a sticker). Or maybe the helmet was put on backwards.

    Review - 3648 Police Chase

No, I think it's going to be available at Target, Toys "R" Us, Kmart, Meijer, and ShopKo, as well. ...And, if you live in Canada, it will be available at Zellers and Toys "R" Us, as well as Walmart Canada.
  21. If anyone is looking for the basis behind the characters' designs in the Heroic Heroes set, here's a poster with both SpongeBob and Patrick as superheroes: Now, do you see the resemblance?

    Best licence of all time?

I personally like SpongeBob, but not just because he's my favorite cartoon, but also because of the various colors used across the entire theme.
  23. Both sets are great. I like the addition of the flower on Sandy's air helmet. I also like the "Masked Sponge" in the Heroic Heroes set. (I do have this strange feeling that they put the Nickelodeon/SpongeBob license on hiatus in order to make licensed Disney products in 2010)

    LDD MOC: 6610-style Gas Pumps

This is my first MOC, which happens to be based off the 6610 Shell Gas Pumps, which I built with LDD, and modified, so it looks like it has stickers and strings. It cost $16.94 USD, contains 28 pieces, and includes a female gas station attendant. Here's the official LEGO set that has served as my inspiration:

The three City sets you'd like TLG to release

I would like to see: 1. A school with school bus 2. An ice cream truck 3. A gas station similar to the 1980 Exxon station, but with Octan stickres and colors, as well as other updates.
