[MOC] Brotherhood of Steel Power Armor

I've updated my Fallout 4 inspired Power Armor, this set is much stronger than my first attempt and is much more accurate. In addition, I've made some characters to go along with the build! All of the minifigure purists should look away, however.

    [MOC] "Fire Walk With Me"

David Lynch's Twin Peaks is one of the formative pieces of media in my life - this small diorama is a tip of the hat to the masterpiece. It's tough to see but the red curtains are offset by a jumper plate every other row to mimic a curtain effect, the emerald ring is part of the base (albeit a bit obscured due to the lighting). I only included Bob, Cooper's backside, and the statue (the holes are photoshopped closed in the arm and hand sockets) because I've seen the expansive cast done to more significant effect than I could've accomplished. That and I'm happier doing something that not many people have done for the red room in LEGO.

    [MOC] Rumors of a Vault

Rumors of a Vault - A Fallout MOC I'm a huge Fallout fan, and when I first heard of a TV show I was admittedly very skeptical. Once set pics leaked, it's apparent that they aren't just winging it... whatever Amazon is cooking. The visual imagery of a torn-apart nursery room in a vault was the main inspiration for this build. Like Fallout, this build depends on visual story-telling and an apparent aesthetic. It has to tell a story, the rust in the vault not touching the nursery, did something happen intentionally? The dead Vault security officer, if something did happen, how long ago did it happen? Mixed with easter eggs that represent the game such as teddy bears, notes, and terminals (albeit Fallout 1-2 inspired). I'm definitely taking a lot of inspiration from Fallout 4's vaults because I just love the character of them. I chose to use 3 bases that all have an 8x8 footprint (give or take). I'm really happy with how this turned out and I hope others who are fans of the series or not can enjoy something about it.

    [MOC] Rumors of a Vault

In regards to the "YOU ROCK!" it was totally unintentional but now I can't stop thinking of your idea. That's the goal, it's an example entry for my contest on Instagram! I also just love working with small footprints because it's a unique challenge for me. Really appreciate the kind words - there will be more where that came from!

    [MOC] David Tennant's TARDIS Console

10th Doctor’s Console by SporadicUser, on Flickr Nothing to really say here, did go through Tennant's catalog and really enjoyed it. Forgot how much I liked it as a kid and that interest is revitalized as an adult. It's really exciting to see he's coming back. I'll also have a build for 14 (or whatever Doctor Ncuti Gatwa is) when it's revealed. For now, I'll post about some of my favorite parts... the screen actually spins! I have stickers numbered "10" and "14" on the console - though the "14" is hiding behind a microphone. Hand in a jar is there, and Wolverine claws are used to mimic wiring under the console. Unfortunately, Tennant is edited by myself and is not a figure anyone (even myself) can purchase. I've composited different figs into one. The base of Tennant's head is Owen from Jurassic World, eyes and eyebrows are from Star Wars' Cassian Andor, cheekbones are from Star Wars' Biggs Darklighter, and the mouth is from one of the Weasely twins. The sneakers are edited on from Beaker (Muppets CMF). The sonic is made from a Harry Potter Gryffindor sword (the red gem I edited blue), an X piece from Speed Champion tools cut for the base of the sonic, and a Harry Potter wand for the butt of the thing. The sticker on the screen isn't super accurate but I thought using some stickers from the new Harry Potter sets would be fun and this wizard looked particularly time-lord-y!

    [MOC] David Tennant's TARDIS Console

That's a fair comparison - seeing as not much stylistically changes between the two. I just bought a 21304 so I'll revamp it for 9/10 using this design! I agree, a new TARDIS with 10, Donna, and Ncuti Gatwa's Doctor would be incredible. Gosh - I wish LEGO found a way to make some sets. Us fans are locked out of Ideas to offer sets but we can continue MOCing and I'll definitely continue compositing figures to make the Doctors I want. As I stated above, I bought a copy of 21304 as well as parts for an additional TARDIS so I can display a 9/10 TARDIS at college. I have a lot I want to change and am excited to share how that looks with the iconic blue box attached.

Many thanks, I’ll be expanding this and connecting it to the Ideas TARDIS for display!
  9. Howl’s Moving Castle - Calcifer’s Spark by SporadicUser, on Flickr This is a creation I've been sitting on for a minute, I thought this community would enjoy seeing it as well. Having recently watched Howl's Moving Castle, I decided to make Calcifer's furnace because I loved its unique shape. My favorite part is the transition between the dome and how the curve is extended through a fender piece. Howl's face is edited and his sleeves are made of cut apollo studs (shock and awe ensue ). I just loved the chaos of the house and how delicious the breakfast looked. There's also the detail of the spell on the table that Howl then quickly erases.

[MOC] Eddie's Barge Service - A Fallout 4 Inspired MOC

Thank you so much! I'll send Eddie your regards, that is if he's still sailing these seas, of course.
  11. Eddie’s Barge Service - A Fallout 4 Inspired MOC "There’s nothing more dangerous than operating the seas in the Commonwealth. But the caps are always worth it, had some guy say he’s looking for his son. I remember losing like that, hard not to root for the guy. Something tells me this sunuvabitch is actually gonna find him too. Godspeed, brother." My MOC "Eddie's Barge Service" is based on Fallout 4 assets. I was really into the idea of the Raider settlement called Libertalia, and the floating houses all around it. I figured some guy would love to slap an engine on the back of a barge and make some caps from it. Eddie's tentative backstory is that he is getting caps to fund a harpoon gun from Far Harbor to get revenge on a Rad Whale that destroyed his first barge and swallowed a collection of rubber duckies. He chooses to help the Sole Survivor and Dogmeat traverse the waters of the Commonwealth for caps and the undying belief that the Sole Survivor will find his son.

    [MOC] Harry Potter 4751 Remake

Here is the newest entry of my little project, this one was a pain. I think I was sold on one color scheme throughout the concept stage, which evolved into a top wall, which led to much frustration to the point where I redid the whole top half about three hours ago. Three photography sessions later, I would love to present this. The original set was fairly cut and dry, featuring a lot of flames and a glowing Snape. Was I jealous? Absolutely but I love the 2018 Snape. I added one brick to the height of the original so I could focus on detail. I wanted to keep the earthy feel but also wanted to show that this was something built. The roots and the leaves are an extension of the leaves part included in the original, I wanted these things to wrap around and seem to actually have a purpose. The middle is probably one of the nicer changes. The light bluish grey tiled ground has a Hogwarts crest in the middle and a medium lavender(?) chest in the back to add a sort of reference to Hogsmeade/Honeydukes. The set in itself is an amalgamation of the Honeydukes tunnel and a fairly tense scene in which Harry pursues Peter Pettigrew. The top of the build didn't really need additional pictures as it wasn't too obscured. The statue had to flow seamlessly for me, thankfully there was a VERY easy solution which helps de-clutter the original set and allows for a focus on the architecture. I chose such a tall build because Hogwarts is a massive building, it really swallows someone up, that scale was missing from the first remake in the name of adding character. The mainstay for me and my LEGO Hogwarts is that there will be offsets by small details. I love the drawings and adaptations of these sloped and curved buildings. It's fantastical and very aesthetically appealing to me. That imbalance was shown by the candles and the brown foundations on the bottom. Fairly subtle but I felt pure mirroring would make for a boring build. LEGO Harry Potter 4711 is next, with an addition of a character and a building. I won't be using the vignette base so I'm hoping the open space isn't too distracting! Thanks for reading! Tell me what you think!

    [MOC] Harry Potter 4701 Remake

I ordered a lot of classic LEGO Harry Potter items on BrickLink and this was the first project I wanted to accomplish. Hopefully, I'll make more soon! I do believe a mistake was using the old hair and not including a cape, however.

    [MOC] Uncharted Vignette

I was pretty immersed in the latest Achievement Hunter Let's Watch series on Uncharted 4, makes me wish I had a PS4 so I could go through the while series. But when you simply do not have a PS4, it's pretty hard to do that. LEGO seemed like a pretty good second option on this. Nathan Drake is purist other than his sheath piece which is a cut up POTC sheath piece. It fit the plain blue torso fairly well. I chose a yellow head for Drake just because I use tan heads so often in my superhero builds, special occasions deserve a bit better. Such a small build is actually one of my most detailed builds to date along with one of the fastest builds. It was really nice to dip my toes in some non-superhero water and try going all out. I really enjoyed this so I think I will plan a bigger vignette for Nathan Drake in the future, I really need to finish the Let's Watch series though, and probably play some Uncharted. But that's a completely different story! Thanks for looking, C&C is always more than welcome!

    [MOC] "TENET" Art Vault

Tenet - The Vault by SporadicUser, on Flickr Nothing too crazy, I watched Tenet a few times and loved the scenery of the art vault. I kept wanting to do the shelves with the 8x8 grills which work EXCEPTIONALLY well! Neil and The Protagonist's faces are edited.

    [MOC] "Uncharted 2" Train

Uncharted by SporadicUser, on Flickr A real fun build to put together, I've been playing through Uncharted again with my girlfriend and we're taking turns playing chapters through Uncharted 4. The atmosphere of the train scene in the second game always captivated me, so I was intent on making it work. The red and purple just pop so well in my eyes, this was such a fun one-day build.

    [Brains] Cat D - 2.2360679775 Squared

2.2360679775 Squared Need a group of survivors in the apocalypse? Looks like you've found the wrong group! This merciless band of survivors are the most merciless. If that doesn't terrify you enough, then read the equally ghoulish introductions to these characters that may or may not show up in a future build for this exact contest! Dale - The sniper of the crew, upon the crisis of many sniper problems, he's figured out the solutions to all of them. Dale was legally blind but upon discovering 20/20 vision glasses, he could see clearly. Another complaint of many was if a zombie walked up behind you and tried eating you, nothing would protect you. Alas, Dale made a shield to protect his precious spinal cord. Among this, he added a grappling gun on his shoulder to get out of tricky situations. Unless he's in the middle of a field then he's actually quite unprepared. Kate - The mechanic of the crew who is ironically named. Though bearing striking resemblances, her hard work often proves well worth any frustrations with her arrogance. To many, her weapon is just a revolver; little did the doubters know that she's made a fully automatic revolver! Often left alone on scouting runs, she enjoys her time with her robotic crab N.O.R.B.E.R.T. which isn't an acronym. She just likes the name Norbert but doesn't want anyone thinking the name doesn't have further meaning. Tim Bateman - The bait. This newcomer is absolutely void of fear. The cook of the crew is by far the member with the most composure in situations, I mean, look at that face! No worries at all, right? Tim is a bit on the heavier side, but the group insists that his physical health is their number one priority. Tim feels lonely romantically so he often finds himself considering trying to take it slow with a nice zombie woman who just wants him for his companionship, not his internal organs. Greg - Demolition man with the most heart you'll never see. Greg has the same problems as every human, knocking others down when you try to take photos, falling backward when you try to take photos, and forcing the photographer to build a completely new base just to accommodate. His specialty is mining and exploding. He's got a robot arm which is cool to some people, others think it's much too flashy and that he'd be better off with just the stub. Over his shoulder is a wire, detonator dispenser thing that he connects to TNT to make a long fuse. He has a small pick-axe then he's got a tiny one on his back. Equipped with a chainsaw, an axe-blade, and a scythe. Upon learning he could efficiently mine with laser focus, Kate made him a tactical laser sight on the pick-axe. REDACTED - This militant member often falls upon earlier practices, much like censoring her real name in a zombie apocalypse. Olivia believes this group needed a leader. Her military expertise was a useful asset when first starting out. She likes to say she has the best guns of the group, though many complain about her weapons being unresourceful and usually inaccurate. She doesn't need this hate however and Oliva proves time and time again that her zombie killing skills are unparalleled. [MOC] Harry Potter 4702 Remake

I started this at about 9AM and it's finished around 2PM. That's kinda nice, huh? The original set doesn't have too much to it, started off as an idea to split the 8x8 into three sections ala 2 2x8's on hinges with a 4x8 in the middle but that was idiotic and I immediately ditched the idea. The mirror does turn to reveal the stone, an inaccuracy to the film but a fun feature I decided to keep regardless. And of course, the figures.
  19. Fallout would be such a good D2C/small line, the sets could be broken down into a Vault, a Raider Settlement, and a Red Rocket station. The general idea of Fallout has a lot of potential, a good amount of villains are bugs/mutated creatures that’d make a great enemy for the sets.

    [MOC] Harry Potter 4711 Remake

Today I am showing off my remake of 4711, Flying Lesson. It's a pretty small scene in the film so the set itself was understandably very small. What I've done is scale it up quite a bit in terms of pieces. I figured the best addition would be another fig along with some exterior of sorts. So the highlight of the remake will obviously be the wall I've made. The color scheme is on par with the Harry Potter revamp using dark bluish grey rather than sand green for the tops of Hogwarts. While it is a bit bland in comparison to sand green, I think the additional colors of nougat and reddish brown benefit much more from it. If you read my writeup for 4751, you'll also note that I tend to offset parts of the build, in this case, it's the spires up on the top. I turned the cone to not line up with the 2x2 dish for a reason, I see it's a technique used in the microscale Hogwarts to portray windows so I figured it would be fitting to offset those. The play feature is a fairly simple button that in turn launches Neville off of the statue (or wall, where there are two connection points with the 1x1 tiles). This is a very accurate play feature to the film in which his cape tears and he breaks his arm as a result of hitting the ground. Nothing too complicated I hope. The remake compared to the original set in terms of what the original looked like. Now that it's done, tell me what you think! I'd love to hear anything in relation to this. Next up might be Slytherin Common Room or the Final Confrontation
