Which Jedi, Sith or other do you want the most?
Rijkvv replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
-Galactic Marines -Commander Bacara -
Isn't Crusaders a Castle subtheme? It sounds great to me anyway. Maybe the brave crusaders cn protect the pilgrims against the robbers? I voted for Western. Indians is also Western I think. But when LEGO decides to re-release this theme, I hope they do a better job than they did with the Pirates. That looked way too <insert that tiresome argument>. But Romans and Greeks sounds also great. How about a fortified gate together with the Troyan horse?

What other SW "Battle Packs" would you like to see?
Rijkvv replied to BearHeart's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I hear many times people who like to see a Snowtroopers Battle Pack. But I've readed somewhere that there will be a Snowtroopers battle pack, with some troopers, and an AT-AT pilot. There was also told about an Ewok battle pack. Is it sure that these sets will be released this year? What I like to see: a Mygeeto Battle Pack. Maybe Ki-Adi Mundi. Three troopers (Snowtrooper helmet with different colors). And the commander (don't know his name). -
What I dreamed of as a kid: Thunderbirds sets. Then you can of course release a big set of Tracy Island, sets of every TB vehicle (not only the Thunderbirds, also other vehicles like the FAB1 and the Mole) and some other big vehicles and scenes.

I never said it before, but your comics look great! I was not sure who the actor was, yesterday I watched the movie "The one that got away" about Chris Ryan. He is the same actor, isn't he? Anyway, is Spyrius going to be in one of your comics? Keep up the good working!

I don't like it. The main reasons: first of all, I don't like the theme/story. I can't explain, I have the same with Exo-Force. Second, as many others have said: it is not easy to combine the pieces for non-Bionicle MOC's. It doesn't look like LEGO, and in my opinion, a LEGO set should have some studded parts. That is what makes it LEGO. I don't like studless very well, but the TECHNIC studless sets you can at least combine with many other elements.

The AT-AA: link And a red Royal Guard version of the TIE Interceptor (however this should be easy to modify).

The Dutch name in the catalogs back then was (translated) Goldsmugglers' Hideout. I used these guys as the local criminals. The 6598 police station has also this part: He is the guy with the cowboy head, isn't he? Reason enough to arrest him... And the brown tiles 1 x 2 were drugs when I played with this set. To me it looks clear these guys are bad guys, however it is not as clear as 1687 Midnight Transport for example. But just see this as an advantage: as already noticed, you can use them for much more than town. Great set, but the building is too small. 4 out of 5.

Which is mightier - Black Seas Barracuda OR Brickbeard's Bounty?
Rijkvv replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in LEGO Pirates
BSB. It looks like a LEGO SYSTEM ship, the new ship looks more like the 4+ ship, not very details, not a nice shape and the sails are ugly with those skulls. The older generation ships with skulls (SES, RBR for example) had skulls wich looked nicer, more like real skulls. Those new skulls looks very <insert that tiresome argument>, like they come from a toy ship for childs under 4 years. That are the words I was looking for. -

There are indeed some old set instructions, not only with Pirates (there are instructions of 5571 and 8880 for example). The oldest ones in the Pirates theme are sets released in 1996: 6244 6289 But they may have older instructions soon. The other instructions are from re-releases of different sets. For these sets: follow the link of The Rancor and search by brand for "Pirates". -
This one was also in Episode III, wasn't it? I voted too fast, I thought it was about the movies (without reading the posts ) and voted the PT. But about the sets, it has to be the OT. These models are absolutely great, with 4483 my favourite and 6209 a close second (however I don't own them).

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Rijkvv replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I agree with both of you. Western was a great theme and I wanted all the sets, but never got one. But I hope TLC make a better theme-re-release than the 2009 Pirates theme, if they release a new Western theme. That looks like the 4+ line and is IMO too much <insert that tiresome argument>. -
Which company makes better pirate-themed sets?
Rijkvv replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Pirates
I voted for Playmobil. I think it is the only brand with high quality, except for LEGO with the 4+ line. The last one is not very detailed, maybe because of the juniorization. Playmobil is full of details, especially the newer sets. However some older ships looks better than the new ones, maybe nostalgia, the same thing with LEGO for me. Maybe I voted for Playmobil because I played a lot with it when I was a kid (also with LEGO of course and always wanted a Playmobil pirate ship, but never got it. -
Weird design with that huge wing, but I like the design. Detailed cockpit, nice wing-rotating system... I like it! One question: those hinge panels at the sides, do they have a function, or is it just because of the shape?

I hear almost everybody talking about the British redcoats. But I think only marines and the army had redcoats, the navy used blue. Or am I wrong?

Model team
Rijkvv replied to Buttons's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yes, Model Team is great theme indeed, and I am a proud owner of 5571. I would like to see this theme restarted. But IF it's restarted, I hope there are not as many stickers as in the original theme (I hate stickers). The stickers are one of the main reasons why I don't collect Model Team. -
Mint In Sealed Box. I always open the box. I buy these sets for the model, and not for the rarity. I buy mostly old sets that are no longer available in most of the shops, but that is more because I like the older sets more, not because those sets are rare and have value. The only time I buy a set MISB and not open it, is when I'm going to sell it somewhere.

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Rijkvv replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Great job! -
I like the bike the most of all. I've seen a picture of the yellow plane, with a Harrier alternate model, that looked also very good.

I think the flagship would be faster. The hull of the clipper is wider. I think the flagship is also better looking because of that. The clipper is too short for it's width. And I agree with HMS243 about the able crewman. However, the clipper can fit four guns if you have two extra, there is no room to o that with the flagship. But the flagship gets my vote.

I voted for SES. Although I think the name is wrong (I believe this is not a schooner, but a bark) and the BSB looks better. But I think the BSB looks too wealthy to be a pirates' ship. A smaller ship like 6268 would be great for pirates, a sneaky little vessel to surprise a merchant ship. But from these two, I think SES is the best overall. And in a battle, the SES has four guns a side against two for the BSB. But the rotating system is not really realistic. However, just looking at the pics, both ships are better than the new ship coming in 2009.

What New Themes or Sets would you like TLG to make?
Rijkvv replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
A Ferrari F40 supercar, with working gears and suspension. And studded. Lights built out of bricks, NOT sticker headlights. In the line of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner: Concorde, Boeing 747, maybe a space shuttle carrier (7470-compatible?). -
I voted sharks. The old ones, not the new ones which appears in the new 2009 sets.

Which "bird species" could be introduced to the Pirate Theme
Rijkvv replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I would like to see an albatross. I voted for pelican.
