Many thanks! That's good enough for me I've added those parts to my spreadsheet.

New LEGO Speed Champions 2021 Rumors, Speculation
Paperballpark replied to Bartlomiej's topic in LEGO Town
I'm very pleased there will be more sets. I picked up one or two each year of the 6 wide ones when I really liked them, but most of them looked too narrow to me. I really liked the move to 8 wide, as it allows the cars to be much more realistic and model-like. So much so that I bought the entire 2020 range.- 121 replies

Yes, it's perfectly possible to get plain parts for colours which technically have never appeared in a set as a plain part. I got a number of torsos like that. However, for the purposes of the spreadsheet, I've simply gone with what is available in sets, as that's easiest to determine.

Yeah deffo printed :)

If they called it Station House, they'd have to be careful next year not to release an Italian Theatre -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Hmm... We've had: CC - Cafe Corner MS - Market Street GG - Green Grocer FB - Fire Brigade GE - Grand Emporium PS - Pet Shop TH - Town Hall PC - Palace Cinema PR - Parisian Restaurant DO - Detective's Office BB - Brick Bank AS - Assembly Square DD - Downtown Diner CG - Corner Garage BS - Bookshop So yes, PS for Police Station would clash with Pet Shop, but I doubt that Lego will have put much thought into that. If it is that, We Afols will just have to refer to it as PS2 ;) I don't think they'll call it Police Precinct as it's only really America where they're called Precincts. Maybe 'Station House', or 'Police HQ'? -
I've spent a few hours updating my spreadsheet of available monochrome minifigs. It now says whether you can get each part plain or only printed, and if printed, there's a note saying which sets or themes that part is in. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a8r22qag71j02r7/Monofigs Parts List.xlsx?dl=0&fbclid=IwAR2r16VURO6mm7YQSdS-rOxmu4sowg6j-WOrfoPBO8yCxAQPKd4_43Ykz_s

Ok, I wasn't going to show this off until I'd got it fully printed, but that won't happen before Brick 2014 later this week. However, I've decided to take it there to show it off 'naked' as it were, so I thought I might as well post about it on here. This is my model of the double-tender 4-6-2 LNER Class A3 4472 Flying Scotsman. As you can see, there is a lot of printing to be done on it - including green printed onto the windows and a couple of other bits of colouring. I'm also going to try to get green printed onto the wheel spokes... It has power functions included. It runs fine with a single train motor (although I've not tested the limits of what it can haul yet), and runs smoothly around corners and over points. The driving wheels are the XL drivers from Big Ben Bricks. Unfortunately, including PF in it (as well as ensuring it could go around curves) meant that I was unable to properly implement connecting rods, valve gear etc. As for stats, it's 7-studs wide, 81 studs long, contains over 1300 pieces, and took about 35 - 40 hours to build over the course of about two months. Oh and for any pedants out there, yes I know that 4472 Flying Scotsman never ran with the smoke deflectors and the double tender at the same time, but I don't care It was always going to be double-tendered, and I much prefer it with smoke deflectors. Anyway, let me know what you think. I'll post more photos once it's been fully printed (probably in the New Year). Full size photos are on my flickr stream here.

Many thanks for that! Just to check on the Trans Pink, do you mean Bricklink colour Trans Dark Pink (Lego colour Transparent Medium Reddish Violet)? I'm very surprised about the 'Glow in the Dark Trans' figure, as my understanding was that colour was retired and had been replaced with 'Glow in the Dark White'. I've also seen Trans Neon Green available, but not Trans Green or Bright Green. I suspect that some sellers are getting confused with some of the colours - especially around all the different blues. Oh and what colour do you mean by 'Trans Light Orange'? I wasn't aware of such a colour.
-
Yes they are possible, as said above. Where did you manage to confirm all the Trans colours from? I'd like to update my spreadsheet. Thanks!

Ooooooooh! I'd really love some of those!

Oooh how do I get one of those?

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Paperballpark replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
I'm calling it - Winter Village Ski Shop. Look at the leaked Advent Calendar images - they're clearly from a catalogue. Look at the City one, and look at the (cut off) image above it, which looks distinctly like a Winter Village set (which would make sense to place it there in the catalogue). Winter Village Ski Shop, with ski and snowboard gear in the windows, and an A-frame and a snowman outside. -
Oh that's a different model to the one I was meaning.
-
Looking at the 'different angle', it's a different model - someone's moc as opposed to the Lego model.
-
Yes I found it easier to remove the print with it than with either an eraser or brasso, and it didn't seem to leave any kind of scratching or dullness. I'm not sure what price it is in the US, but considering the prices that some of the elements cost, it's probably not all that much!

There's a product in the UK that I bought called Quixx, which I'd thoroughly recommend.

My spreadsheet is still available via the above link. As far as I'm aware it's completely up to date. Let me know if there's some parts out there which aren't noted on my spreadsheet!

I have all the modulars except Cafe Corner and Market Street, neither of which hold any real interest to me (I BL'd Green Grocer). For me there are two 'eras' of modulars - the first era was up to Palace Cinema, and the second era started with Parisian Restaurant. This Bookshop actually feels like a bit of a 'reset', like the starting of a third era of modulars. I always felt the first era lost its way a bit with the last couple - Town Hall and Palace Cinema - and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same about the last two modulars (Downtown Diner and Corner Garage), that they weren't quite up to the usual high standard, so for me this feels a bit like a reset, like when Parisian Restaurant was unveiled after Palace Cinema, if that makes sense?

TLG take-down of custom 3D printed parts for infringement
Paperballpark replied to Tommy Styrvoky's topic in LEGO Technic and Model Team
Of course TLG doesn't want the LEGO name used to describe LEGO-compatible bricks, however they're made. Because that is a slippery slope - if people get used to describing all bricks as LEGO, then LEGO becomes a name for interconnecting bricks, rather than a name for one brand of interconnecting bricks. If you doubt this, consider that in the UK (not sure about elsewhere) a vacuum cleaner is known as a hoover. I hoover the house, and when I go to buy a new one, I go to buy a hoover - even if I buy a completely different brand. The problem with this for the Hoover brand is obvious - how do they distinguish Hoover the brand from generic hoovers (i.e. all brands)? The answer is that they can't really. Once people refer to all brands as your brand name, you're knackered. That's why TLG is so precious about protecting the brand. They always have been - all large brands are the same. If a company describes one of their products as 'the Rolls Royce of [whatever]', they'll get a nice little cease and desist letter from RR's lawyers. -
I suspect that Lego have done this to solve the problem of not being able to connect a long plate under the wheel set. There's a few times in the past (when I was building trains) that I wished I could attach a plate underneath, and it's possible they decided that doing so would make a stronger connection. Otherwise, why not just make a single wheelset with plastic axle attached?
