    [ MOC ] Box N . My Design Studio / Modular Building

Thanks for the comments! I will certainly work on the interior a little bit, maybe a carpet or like you said a sculpture would be nice. Such details will not only add a bit of colors, but also add some more "fun" to the internal space. I will see what I can do! Thanks again!

I think LEGO bricks can be a good presentation tools for mass / form study, and I am sure the Architecture Studio set will help her a lot on that part ;)

    [ MOC ] Box N . My Design Studio / Modular Building

Thanks all of you for the comments and compliments! It's very encouraging and I hope some of you are inspired to do something similar and impact your own city! I know that design has no end. Every moment and then we want to refine our own creations and make it more perfect. I'll continue to work on this for sure! Haha, thanks, and your idea is interesting! I'll definitely make a shot of that! Wow I'm too far from giving an architecture MOC course! But I would no doubt share more ideas and answer questions regarding making better modular buildings! Exactly that's what our city is about! Every city envolves and the new will take over the old ones eventually. That course of history is happening here within the bricks now!
  6. This is my first time to do an MOC modular building, and it is a chance for me to put my profession into practice in the brick city! (I am working as an architect) There is still a lot of room for improvement and detail refinement, but at least the basic shape is all here. Yes, this is a bank, the Lego Bank of the Golden Scorpion. Finally, the Lego citizens can get their money here for shopping at the Grand Emporium and watching movies at the Palace Cinema! And yes, finally my street is starting to look different than the others! Overall view, the workers are cleaning up the place and preparing to get off work... The main entrance has two doors, left and right, separated by a little pond. The middle fountain is a mushroom jet, and water at the entrance? It is all about feng shui! (in Chinese feng shui, flowing water means money!) The front elevation is decorated with a lot of golden pieces, and the scorpion logo is right there too. It has a golden and silver on its left and right sides respectively, symbolizing trading and monetary matters. Let's talk a look at the first floor. Instead of making the whole floor removable, I retain the front facade of the 1st floor to the G/F, as a little test to see if this section cut is more useful or interesting... G/F . Basic Services (card return, passbook check, ATM, appointment booking...) The ground floor has a small counter for some basic and easy services. A guard is at the door, while you can see the ATM on the left. On the right is a lift to other floors, and it is a bubble lift! (glass lift) Another angle of the floor. A staff is handing a new credit card to the client... Let's have a ride on the lift to the next floor! 1/F Bank Vault The bank vault storing the most valuable things is located on the 1st floor. Today some green money cases are delivered and a staff is watching. Well, sounds like there are enough gold bars to buy the new Lone Ranger Lego sets coming this summer! 2/F Premium / Advance Services The topmost floor is for advance banking services, where you can find a bigger counter (I should put more staff in). The table on the left allows customers to talk to staff on more serious matters like setting up new accounts, insurance policies or getting more information on new saving plans. There are also seats for customers to wait during busy hours. Another angle. The call button of the lift is not on the wall but on a pedestal. This guy at the counter is taking out quite some money from his account! There is nothing on the roof for security reasons. You know people can go to another building from one roof to another in the modular building series, right? It is too easy! So here, there is nothing but a roof with security wire beneath. There is a UPS (uninterrupted power supply) machine but again, it is well secured with alarm system linked to the police station. I guess the crooks cannot get into this bank that easy like in the set 3661! Here is what it is like to be next to the Town Hall! :) Oh, the money transport truck has just arrived! Hope you enjoy it! The bank starts running this Monday! Thanks!

    Porsche GT3 RS

Taking me nearly two weeks, I finally got the time to find the needed parts and build this super car. I did a Mustang some time ago, and I thought I should make and complete a super sports car series (so that they can really race in my city, haha). Now, here you go! I just parked my new Porsche GT3 RS! (oops, I just found that a light is tilted in front of the restaurant!) I tried very hard to make the car profile as close to the real one as possible, and here are some photos for comparison... I think the rear part is the best, and I even keep the center red tail light! I like the mix of 4-stud and 5-stud to achieve the tail profile... I can use white for the spoiler, but I guess it is more exaggerating to have it in red. Just a little test. Now it is placed next to the Mustang, and you can see the two different styles... I tried so many different windshields but none of them looks nice since I have a 6-to-4 car profile (bottom to top). I guess I will just leave the glass issue aside, as the car profile is more important than glass problem! Time for pedal to the metal! C'mon and start drifting and dragging!

Thanks! I think the hood needs a little more work, and perhaps I will take some time this weekend to fine-tune it! ;)

    The Batmobile: Which is best

I feel the same too, and together with The Bat, I feel that it fits more into the realistic Gotham world settings. I have made my own creation of the Tumblers, together with The Bat. It is much more powerful and well armed, probably because I am not a big fan of funky comic-like designs... (from another thread http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=79567&hl= )

MOD - Nick Fury's Flying Car

This is more like a "mod" than MOC :) I have finally got the 76004 set with Nick Fury, Spider Man and Venom (I love Venom!), but the green car does not look right in my setup which contains the original Quinjet, original jeep and my MOC Avengers truck. So I just turned it back to the official blue color... And now everything is all good and ready for battle!

    MOC: Modular Laundry

I really really like this building of yours! The clean design with sharp color scheme, this is very eye-catching! I especially like the tiled floor with tan and white colors, which makes the space look very comfortable. Nice!

Review Triple Review: Series 4 Friends Animals

Great review! It is great to see how you elaborate on the parts, so that I can really decide on what to get as I, for most of the time, buy sets for their parts (for my MOCs) :) And now I am getting the tiger! Suddenly I think the penguin can join the Batman new set (76010) haha, but she is probably too cute / kind / un-evil to be a bad penguin! Great review!
  15. Many people looked forward to the new Superman movie <Man of Steel>, but were much disappointed when the movie was not something that they expected. However, I think the first part of the movie about Krypton, the home world of Superman, is quite awesome. The organic high-tech kind of design looks very interesting without being too overwhelming or too different from human's world. Too bad that Lego's Man of Steel series only have the dropship and escape pod, and I think the awesome attack ship by General Zod should also be included. This time, like I did The Bat last time, I bought the movie book to study what this plane really is before starting the brick building. I couldn't believe that it only had one page about this ship, with only this blurry image: This type of ship only appears once in the movie, in which General Zod came to Jor-el's place to stop him from sending Superman to Earth. I have trimmed that little bit of the movie, and see if it helps you recall what I am going to show you. After nearly 2 months I finally completed the model, and it was featured too in the recent Hong Kong Lego exhibition "Bricks Adventure 2013". Now, here is the overall view of what the Man of Steel series should be! Close-up of the cockpit. There is no glass, and with the Krypton technology, why do you need to see the outside? Haha! Also, check the guns at the front, which can be adjusted for different angles. They are the weapons blowing off Jor-el's place... Inside the cockpit, one Kryptonian can be fitted in. The attack ship is basically a bigger dropship, transferring warriors to the battlefield. The center part is empty, and you can fit around 8 soldiers here... The most complicated and difficult part is the wings, which is also the prominent feature of this ship. I guess they take the idea from insects. Each side of the wings have 3 members, each can then be rotated to adjust flight position. I fixed the innermost two parts, leaving only 4 of them being adjustable. Also, the 3 members can be opened outwards or packed together. The concept for all these rotated blades of engines is for the control of flight direction. If the plane is moving forward, the engines along the blades (green parts) will face backwards. If it needs to slow down, the wings will flip to the front, like this: (you can see that in the clip above too) If it needs to stay in the air, the engines (green parts) will face downwards. This is a shot of the back, which features a pair of engine too. Different rows of engines will be turned on depending on the moving direction of the plane (as you can see in the clip) Okay now you know how the wings work. Time to land and find Superman! There are quite some design considerations during the development. I decided to keep the same kind of color and form that the original Lego series had set up, but at the same time I had to follow what the movie had designed (the dropship was not completely like the original!). It is quite a struggle. In the movie, there is no green color, but I prefer what Lego did with the green color, since it is what Kryptonite is like in the comics. Also, I keep the details from the dropship: tan base plates, shooting missiles...etc. The hardest part is the pair of wings. I have redesigned it four times, trying to keep the same design and form but making it lighter so that the hinges can withstand the long blades. Now it is slightly supported too by the top part of the plane, which is okay for now. I may improve it by using some Technic pieces later. Now everything is set, the Kryptonian war begins!

[ MOC ] General Zod's Attack Ship, from Man of Steel

Thanks! It seems that it would look cool to have 3 ships at least to make an army, haha, but I am broke with bricks! :P Wow, let me know when you complete it! I also want to see how it looks! :)

I don't use LDD, and so it was built with trial and error, haha...I don't have the instruction but you can let me know if you would like to know more about some of the details on the ship :) Thanks everyone :D

    MOC - Airborne Rally Group

Hi everyone, it has been some time since I posted here. Finally I managed to complete this MOC. When I first saw 60025, I thought it was too sloppy and modified it to make the Octan Audi R18 LMP. Here with 60027, the same appeared to me. Monster truck? The truck was too weak too, so how about something even more interesting? Airborne Spoilers is now a rally group, let's take a look! Indeed it is quite long! Let's first look at the support jeep! "Hey man, don't take the tools again without letting me know!" "C'mon!" The back of the jeep. It is based on the nice fire captain car, but one layer of brick raised. You know rally tracks are all bumpy and sandy... Second is the truck. It is not just a trailer truck, but also a truck with a little lifting crane! The arm is perfect for maintenance and repair of the rally cars, but seriously it cannot do something too heavy, but these guys say "enough for now"! The final car is of course the rally star, the rally truck! The 6-wheel machine has no problem at all racing through the dessert or wet swamp area. I was planning to put on a lot of sponsor stickers, but I believe it is better to leave it this way... what do you think? "Hey don't move yet! Something to fix at the hood still!" "I can't wait, quick!" Well, the star racer is probably too excited, and the rally truck is not enough for him. He also has his rally bike! Gosh, he is too hyperactive! When the race is over, when the guys are all packed up, someone probably smells it... "a race going on here?" An overview of my MOC based on 60025 and 60027. All my racing crews are here! :) Let me know what you think!

    MOC - Airborne Rally Group

Thanks everyone! I must agree with you, as I was also dealing with that part. You probably understand why there is no sticker XD (because we all know that it is best to avoid). Instead, perhaps I will do some patterns over the body, and see how it goes. I will post it up again if I succeed! :)

Thanks thanks. The crane is usually used for lifting parts and materials. I believe it is not really for dragging the rally truck into the trailer... :P

    [MOC] Steampunk Batcave

Interesting! :D Very funny too! I think the two "door panels" on the tumbler can be inclined a little more, so that the back is a little higher. That will look even more similar to the modern version. Very good build, I especially like the "hat" on the rear wheels!
