  1. Perhaps the new theme park needs a better transport which can maneuver in the city, right? Based on my previous truck design, I did this for moving the raptors. The tractor section has a turret that can be used for any emergency cases like dinosaur escape, and now raptor transport can go through the city without problem! Hope you enjoy this :) thanks!

    The Avengers Building

Our world needs superheroes...so let's make them stay! Hi all! It has been some time since my last building, and here you go, the new Avengers Building! After much controversy, the new building was finally permitted to be established and built in V City. Many people was too obsessed with the Stark-tower type of Avengers building, while I have another vision. The gradually slanting facade walls create an interesting elevation that looks different when you walk along. The idea of slicing up the building generates the dynamics for the blue-toned building, and at the same time creates privacy inside it with the folds. The snow-cap like cladding is a gesture of destruction, peeling off to show the inner skin, and gives a contrast of solid and transparency. The four prominent vertical ridges gives a strong feeling of anchoring to the ground, going all the way to the top. Due to the complex facade designs, the building opens up in the back to access the interior, which contains the lobby, war rooms, dormitory areas, equipment room, laboratory and storage spaces. Some areas are shielded from the windows due to privacy with interesting folds of walls. The Iron Legion is always ready, for any identified or unidentified threats near the premises... Yes, in this universe, we have both Captains and Iron Man... "Monica, did you go to the wrong building? This is not your department..." From bottom to top: the conference room, war room, dormitory area with restroom and kitchen, equipment room and storage, and the roof top. Stop fighting on the roof and destroying my building, you two! Top: What? Did you swallow it again? Bottom: Still fits, still...fits! "Monica, again, this is not a place that you can just walk in. Restricted area! And sorry, white Vision is offline still..." "I will see you in 5 seconds, okay?" "Not the lifting hammer again. You know who can do it...not just you." "If you're nothing without this suit, then you shouldn't have it, okay? God, I sound like my dad." "Wrong universe but right timeline, huh, this is interesting." "New enemies behind me...?" Hope you like it! Now, the Avengers can assemble!

    The Avengers Building

Thanks! One of the most difficult challenges is to make sure everything is firm and tight with the rotated bases for each section of the buildings!
  6. Oh no, I also had a missing cape for Spidey! I thought it was my own bad luck but it looks like a prevailing problem across the globe...gosh!

    [ MOC ] Batpod UCS

Hi everyone, today here I am to show you my version of the Batpod. When 5004590 was released, everyone was thrilled and tried to replicate one on their own with their parts. However, 5004590 looks just strange when you compare it to the real one. I bought the book The Dark Knight Manual to understand the design more, and research on the Internet for a month, and finally I built a version that I think is closer to the real Batpod. The original Batpod is an escape pod from Batman's Tumbler, and the mechanism is based on the S-shaped axis. Each of the two wheels are connected to the body by one-sided arm only. 5004590 set does not do this while mine follows that design. The shape of the Batpod is also in a reverse V-shaped manner, without any horizontal element. The LEGO set did not do that at all, and my version tries to follow that original profile, with rear part elongated as well to match the proportion. Front view, which shows the asymmetrical design of the wheel axis. The front view has mounted 3 pairs of weapons, with headlights on the sides too. Middle part, which retains some of the details of the original 5004590 set. I like this part the most, which keeps the original design of the Batpod: mudguard between the two pedals. I tried to add some wiring to mimic the original, but it looks too busy and so I ditch it in the end. The whole exercise was started as an MOD, but with my design goals to rebuild the form in the most realistic way, I redid the entire chassis in the end. Looks like an MOC at last! Anyway, there is one technical issue that prevents the front wheel guns from holding permanently, but as a display model, this is perfect already. Thanks for watching!

[ MOC ] Modular LEGO Store!

Hi everyone! It is me again and I am bringing a new modern piece of architecture to the brick city this time! Celebrating my 9th piece of modern architecture in the archiBRICKture series, the modular LEGO Store is a colorful and clean building where both adults and kids will find all the joy with the LEGO bricks! The design rips off all colors except on the front door, above where you can find all the different colors of LEGO bricks, the signature of this brand. Next to the door is the giant wooden sculpture of minifigure, and people will have no difficulty to locate the store! The new building introduces different curves and round corners to soften the block massing, giving the facade a subtle but interesting look. The curves also go around the facade cut-out for the minifigure statue and the glass wall behind it, which allows sunlight to enter the shop. There are 3 floors and a rooftop. Inside, you can find all the popular box sets including the latest ones, a Pick-A-Brick corner, a children play area and a LEGO factory machine display. On the rooftop, you can have some refreshments, or share ideas if there is any MOC event. So now you have a new place to haunt, what are you waiting for?

Thanks, I also think it is good to have a natural touch to the design, which is not common. Thanks! It is indeed an official LEGO piece! Since the wooden figure encourages additional art work on itself, perhaps it can also be dressed up for different occasions and holidays. We will see! Thanks for the comments!

    [ MOC ] VCPD - Police Station

Hi everyone, long time no see! I would like to present my latest creation, after a long pause in my LEGO life due to a new family member, and this time it is about setting up more important public services to the citizen of my brick city, the police station! Despite the limited space, the new police station is packed with all the necessary features for its daily operation. The Command Center for Operation and Response Team (CCORT) stands in the city under sand blue, black and grey major colors, getting rid of the usual bright blue palette. Here is the shot with the people and vehicles: I am an architect (in reality) and I always want to put some architectural language into my creation (you know, to inspire others and to educate the younger ones when I have talks and workshops with them), and I am glad that this time this piece of work is an extension of what I learnt over the years, with expressions in colors, patterns and massing. The ground floor is all for the cars. You can find the main entrance where bigger transport cars can be parked, and connects to the two smaller garages in the back which have their own entries too. Giving way to the vehicular entries, the reception is moved to the first floor led by a wide staircase which becomes a welcoming and prominent feature along the street. Above it are the detention section, interview rooms, and one record room. Going further up will be the main office for the officers, accompanied with pantry and the female restroom. Half of the area is a double volume space to receive more daylight through the big window. There’s also a meeting room which can be used as a war room if needed. Above them will be the laboratory and equipment room, where evidence can be analyzed and where weapons and tools are stored. There are also the male restroom and one meeting room. Speaking of the restrooms, both of them have shower in case the overworked officers need to take a break. Finally you will reach the top floor where the director’s office and flight control room are located. One can also reach the rooftop which is an Orca pad. The parking receiver is usually closed, and extends out upon Orca landing. The charging equipment sits on the side. Seldom do we see an Orca here actually since it’s usually parked for charging and equipment check. Now, VCPD (V City Police Department) has a solid base for daily operations, providing all the services and support to the citizens in the town! Hope you all enjoy the design and you can see a little more photos here. Cheers!

[ MOC ] The Grand Mall

Hi everyone, just a few days before 2017 arrives and I managed to get this building done! As the economy of V City (my LEGO world) is going strong, the old Grand Emporium needs an upgrade too. Unlike many people who would buy more of the set and stack the stories up, I took a different approach from an architect's point of view. I got the inspiration from the book shelf of mine, and thought what if I added more books to the shelf? I would push the books aside and insert the new ones. And I got the idea for the new annex of the department store. The new building is just like new blocks inserted into the old one, and the expansion is not merely an increase of volume or floor area, but also a re-establishment of the icon. The new shop becomes a new landmark in the city (again). The design is clearly an insertion, but not invasion of the old. The new wing has a larger entrance, while the old revolving door is still kept. Let's start with the G/F. This floor is the supermarket, with one side having a double-volume space. You can also see that I kept some iconic features from the old emporium, namely the gift deco and escalators. All these link to the old memories... There is also a little information counter, if you are lost or if you have lost something. Going up to 1/F is the kitchenware section, and you can find the fashion section next to it. Wait, is that...Scarlet Witch? Further up is the 2/F kid section, with a fully stocked LEGO shelf! You can also find other toys here. The other side of the kid section is a book section. Mums can play with their kids too there. Snack corner is near the escalator, while you can find the restroom too. The roof originally was not used for anything (or a rest area for the window cleaners?), but after the renovation, you can enjoy a drink at the sky bar. Sometimes you can find the Avengers too. The model is also "slice-able", as you can open it up to reveal all the different sections inside. So the new Grand Mall is in business, and you can start getting some new things for the new year. Enjoy!

[ MOC ] Mail Box at V City

Thanks everyone! I guess it is easy to reach this kind of appearance with LEGO bricks, showing smooth and clean lines and surfaces. The hard part is how to arrange the spaces within such clean language and look. Let me take a good picture of it next to the other buildings!

[ MOC ] Mail Box at V City

Finally! This is the Mail Box! I took quite some time off from my last creation, and now I finally realized what was in my hand for quite some months. This yellow building is my latest modern architecture creation, and clearly, it is the place where you post your letters and get other mailing services, the post office! Many people would use up most of the inches for a corner building design, but I want to reclaim the space for the people. How about a negative building? I decided to remove the walls along the pavement, and create a nice, welcoming semi-outdoor space. Then the building will start to "climb" onto the remaining walls, as if they are inserted into the planes. I used grey for the horizontal box indicating that this is the public area. You can do your mailing at the counter or get help. You can also buy postcards and other mail products. The above is the black box, which is the office, the staff-only place. You can post your letters outside. Note the local and air mailboxes! The blue one is stamp vending machine. Buy, stick and post! On the other side of the yellow wall is the loading bay, and you can see things are just scattered around, with parcels pending delivery...the other side is the lift shaft, with a workable lift! The mail car parks here, and ready to be loaded and go! The first floor is the office where the postmen sort the letters. Looks like they need to have OT today... The second floor is where the manager sits. You can also find special delivery section here. They are brainstorming about how to deliver these silver bricks. Who is that artist? He is the designer for the post products, like the first-day-of-issue! The computer? For the drones! Yes, the drones! With these little robots, speed delivery will be really...speedy. No need to wait for any man or car to send your urgent letters! Hope you enjoy this! Now start posting!

[ MOC ] Mail Box at V City

Hi, thanks for the comments! Sorry for being late to reply, and here is a shot of my lift shaft: You can see the lift will be held by the walls (when all the floors are inserted back) and so it won't fall out, and nothing sticks out so that the building can still be attached to the other one side by side without problem. The lift is not a square but in a slight L-shape, and that is why it will be "pushed" into the black wall part (you can imagine by looking at the bottom of the shaft). Hope that helps!

[ MOC ] Mail Box at V City

It took me actually a month to sketch and design, while the building work took around a week...pretty fast actually when most of the bricks are ready, haha... Thanks Henchmen! Actually, you are right, I didn't just sketch and jump to this design. I actually did 5-6 sketches to reach this final design, before using the bricks to test the idea out. :) I only showed the final sketch right before the actual construction work. Good guess! Thanks everyone!

[ MOC ] The Grand Mall

Thanks! And I like what you said about architecture. It is a kind of art, and people have different tastes for different art. About the light colors, I should be posting better pictures. My bad! My MOC does not have any instructions, sorry about that. However, I am more than happy to answer any question if you are working on your own emporium expansion!
