These are really great! They totally work by themselves and would also look good with the official modular line. Building a grocery store modular with the signs from the Juniors Supermarket is on my to-do list too!

LEGO Dimensions Physical Brick Discussion

I think Flintstones could be fun--but the Flintstones and Jetsons rumors make me fear that we won't be getting any more Wizard of Oz packs.- 527 replies

I'm lovin' it!

I'm still debating getting the game, but I did just pick up the Wizard of Oz fun pack. Thought I'd pass along news of a good deal if you're in the US and plan to buy the game and a lot of the packs. At Best Buy for $30 you can become a member of the "My Best Buy Gamers Club," which gets you 20% off new games (this includes all of the fun packs, team packs, etc. too). Pretty good deal if you're a gamer, or if you plan to buy a lot of the Lego packs.

I'm interested in seeing what the BB looks like if you turn it and have the Laundromat next to the DO. I feel like the laundromat will look better next to the DO than the bank's main facade.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

This sounds really great! Wasn't expecting a laundromat with the bank--but that's a great addition! -
I won't be holding my breath...but I will freak out if we get the Emerald City! Here's my wish list if this is a really large set and is the only Oz set we get: -Mini-figs: Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Toto, the Wizard, Wicked Witch, Glinda, a couple of Emerald City citizens -Oz's chamber - with the giant head, flames, and curtain where the Wizard hides -Oz's balloon -Horse of a Different Color -More than anything, I just want it to have the iconic outter appearance from the film.

Do we think there will be other figures released for the game next year? I'm really disappointed that Oz is only represented by one mini-fig.- 527 replies

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion

I'd snatch up the GE if I found a good deal. The inside might be bare, but you can fix that yourself. Plus the outside is on display much more often than the inside anyway. -
It certainly sounded like the Portal level comes in the main game - they said it was about mid-way through the game, with Oz being the first level.
-
Yeah, the YouTube Live is all about a Portal level for those interested. Gameplay looks identical to all of the other TT Lego games. Video also shows the physical Lego gamepad lighting up. Looks pretty cool.
-
Fantastic! So many great details!
-
I love the new sets. I'm really hoping that we get more figures from the Wizard of Oz though.
-
Got mine a few weeks ago and just built it this weekend. Of the modulars I've build so far (Pet Shop, Cinema, and Town Hall), this is my favorite BY FAR! Such cool building techniques and fun features in the interior and exterior. I wish they'd keep it around - it's a must-have set for all modular collectors in my opinion.
-
I especially love the upper two floors. The area above the main entrance looks like it would be cool for a piano bar too!
-
Great review! I'm not going to be collecting Simpsons, but all of these great details make me want the set so I can stock up a modular grocery store. Still--all the stickers and the high price tag will make me hold off.

Love it! Looks great!

My preference would be that they treat the theme like the Simpsons and do a line of collectible mini-figs with one big set. Big Set - Emerald City (Either Oz's throne room or the Wizard's hot air balloon scene) Collectible mini-figs: -Dorothy w/ Toto -Scarecrow -Lion -Tin Man -Wicked Witch -Glinda -Wizard -Winkie Guard -Flying Monkey -Mayor of the Munchkin City -Lollipop Guild Munchkin -Lullaby League Munchkin -Coroner Munchkin -Female Munchkin -Emerald City Guardian at the Gates -Emerald City Citizen I suspect that something like this would be good enough for the Oz theme and they could stop there. But, of course, if it were super successful they could give us the Witch's castle, the forest with the talking apple trees, a Kansas set with sepia-colored figures and pieces, Munchkinland, the Horse of a Different Color, etc.
-
I desperately want this theme to happen. I'm not sure I'll be picking up the Dimensions game, but I'll be collecting all of the Wizard of Oz packs. My favorite film of all time--and a great choice for Lego!

Thanks for the review! I'm a fan of the set but will be modding quite a bit. Have to get a small bar into the Highlander and then turn the second/third story above the barber shop into a proper apartment. The detective's office is great and will stay as is!

List your favourite modulars in order of preference, and explain why?
JDW replied to glendo's topic in LEGO Town
I've only got the Town Hall and Palace Cinema right now, so I probably can't rank the buildings at this point. I'll say that I love both of the buildings but wish that the Town Hall was a little shorter and that the Cinema was a little taller! I'm planning to get the Pet Shop and then the Detective's Agency next...but I'm a little worried that everything will look tiny next to the enormous Town Hall! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
JDW replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I agree. Like some other posters, I'm don't really care for vehicles with my modular sets. But since it appears like they're potentially trying to bring in some kids and other city fans with this set, it is a bit surprising that they aren't including a car. -

I really love this set! So much going on! I'll be getting the Pet Shop pretty soon...but I'll skip PR for right now to buy this one as soon as possible! -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
JDW replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Diggydoes posted today that the agency is on top of the bar, which a lot of us expected I think. So it does seem likely that the set features 2 buildings with an alley in between. One building is home to the barber shop (does it have an apartment or anything above it?) and the other is home to the bar (1st floor) and detective agency (2nd and/or 3rd floor). This sounds awesome!
