  1. This is truly amazing. Looks like a dream layout and works like a charm. I can see lot of work was put in there and it is well thought-out. As Dav1d wrote, you have captured the 12V spirit. Seeing this magic was partly responsible not to sell my 12V stuff.

    42113 Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey

Totally agree. I also signed the petition as this LEGO set has nothing to do with war imo.

    Lego 10277 - Crocodile Locomotive

Thank you very much for the answers. No speed regulation does not sound good unfortunately. I thought it can do the same as 60198 with this set up.

    Lego 10277 - Crocodile Locomotive

Very excited and plan to purchase it as I love the original Crocodile engine - it is a piece of industrial art. Hope it will look good next to my original 3 Creator Expert trains. My questions though: can I use the Powered Up motorized version (88009 and 88013) with 88010 remote controll? And will the 88005 lights work with this set up out of the box? Thanks in advance.

    Technicopedia

It made my day. Technicopedia partly insipred me to get back to Lego Technic after dark ages.

    42115 - Lamborghini Sian FKP 37

@kbalage It was a very informative and thought-out review and your comments are in line with what I think about this set. Thank you and keep up good work.

    42115 - Lamborghini Sian FKP 37

I am really excited to get my hands on this model. At first sight the final product looks stunning and meets my expectations. Waiting for reviews by Jim and Sariel. And the design video - it was worth doing just only for to get some introspection into Uwe's work studio and to hear him speak finally. Very much appreciated as he is one of my favourite LEGO designers.
  8. In the afternoon I thought to have some sleep but then I saw this article and sleepiness was gone. Thank you for the detailed and well thought-out review Jim and of course stunning photos, as always. Was worth waiting for it. This was the first set I bought from the 2019 Technic lineup as I was eager to see how Control+ performs compared to the old crawlers and I came to a similar conclusion as you: I hoped that Control+ would bring a significant performance upgrade and versatility compared to PF, but unfortunately that's not the case (for the time being). Overall I like the set, it looks agressive as it should, it runs well but lacks torque, which you can improve only if you sacrifice speed. And one thing that still bothers me is the lack of physical controller. If third parties can make usable controllers then LEGO should have created one as well for this amount of money, because looking your mobile phone instead of looking the action detracts from joy a lot IMO.

True that. And that rumour was totally false, starting with backhoe on the list...

    LEGO 40th anniversary classic train

I have to agree with you. And thats why I will never buy it. Instead I will expand my 12v collection.

Totally agree with agrof, this set is a big let down... I've just added the much better 8460 to my collection.

    Limited Technic Reviews

I appreciate your (old type) reviews Jim very much, those are well thought-out, come with astonishing photos and you always come up with similar verdict I have in my mind after I build my own set. Therefore your reviews have good indication for me if I would like to have a set in my collection or not. I also like Blakbird written reviews a lot but unfortunately he is done with LEGO as far as I know. And IMO it is not necessary to come up with your review before the release date. Please continue great work, take your time, maybe concentrate on big sets only and these reviews will always be on the top of the list.

    Technic 2020 Set Discussion

Lol. @kbalage really like your high quality video reviews because you always come up with thoughts I can fully agree with. The new one about the 3 Technic beasts is no exception. To be honest I miss such reviews when (real LEGO) models in the same category are compared at the end. Back in the good old days, when Balkbird had all the Technic models from the past, he could do such kind of thing but I know how space consumer is to keep built the official models and probably most of them just reused in different MOCs. I've just planned to add these biggest Technic models into my collection gallery and now I can see how they will look next to each other. Thanks.

Finally! A LEGO flagship backhoe. Dream come true if true.

Trans Europ Express (TEE) VT 11.5

Wow just wow! I rarely comment on Train forum but this MOC of TEE is incredible. Congratulations to HoMa and you, it looks stunning and really the crown jewel of this massive collection. TEE is one of my favourite trains and someday I will try to build a similar one.
  17. +1 I've built all Technic flagsips starting with 853. I still have most of them in my collection. 8868 is the king.

    Future Set Wishes and Speculation

Hahaha, you are right, it was too much in one sentence...anyway, they can skip the flashing orange light if they elaborate all other backhoe functions properly. I just thought children (including me) would love such a new thing on a construction machine. They managed to implement that in some 80s Town sets, so why not? Imagine it at night supplemented by some normal PF lights. It would look awesome. Good question about the motor though, I would use L and two small pumps to get enough air pressure.

    Future Set Wishes and Speculation

IMO it is time for a full pneumatic and yellow backhoe flagship again with 10 big cylinders + motor driven compressor with big claas tyres back and new small claas type tyres front with fake engine, pendular suspension and flashing orange light on top.

    Blakbird Collection Liquidation

Sad to hear that...agree with the comment that this collection should be placed in a LEGO Technic historical museum. And hope you will continue your great work with Technicopedia. In my case it was also partly responsible for getting back to LEGO after 10 years of dark age.

    Technic 2018 Set Discussion

I think you are right. This is something really exciting regarding 2h and can lean toward IR controlled pneumatic models (backhoe) in the future.

Yes, 42056 is available in most stores and no sign of retiring soon at all.

    Technic 2017 Set Discussion

Thank you very much for this information sir. If this list is complete 42056 Porsche from 2016 will be still available in 2019 or probably for a longer period. In my opinion TLG wants to boost sales figures regarding the new super car hopefully coming out this summer and creating the new collectible series of ultimate Technic which was mentioned before by the company itself. And maybe they decided to keep production run much longer for these special Technic sets (similar to mudular buildings) in order to decrease profit of scalpers and Lepin. I would support this strategy. On the other hand TLG had very strange strategy regarding flagship 42070 last year which I do not support. RRP was insanely high and dropped right after the release date at many resellers with huge amount to keep planned sales figures I believe. And I agree with agrof at this point that it was not the best way to treat with long-term fans. If 42070 had been priced at EUR 175 (which for me is the right price for a MISB 42070 set) much less dislike would have come I think.
  25. @curakar Very nice collection there, I love your MODs. I almost forget this super topic and I haven't updated my collection (see below) for almost a year but will try to add all the sets I bought since.
