Lego polybags, lord of the rings and cmf for sale
English Electric replied to adreva11's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Hi, how much would postage be on one each of the £1 polybags (i.e. 11 polybags in total)? Thanks, Dave -
MOC: Swedish shunter littera V5 with onboard decoupling in the "tw
English Electric replied to Selander's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great little shunters, very similar to some private user industrial ones here in the UK. As cei has said, if you would be willing to share instructions that would be great! -
MOC: NS 1847 - Mainline Electric of the Dutch Railways

Fantastic creation, excellent details you have on the roof and pantographs! Thank you for sharing it with us! -
MOC Mini 10219 and Special Painted 10219
English Electric replied to daystar's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Great little creations, well done, are you going to build them? -
Certainly not an easy prototype to work from, but you have done well to recreate the nose shape. I have to say the prototype is a real ugly duckling!!!

The points are spring loaded when you go through them in the trailing direction, so they are just set for the correct directions of travel in the facing directions.

Tracks: DIY rail crossing with PF tracks
English Electric replied to DjiM's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think they are fairly common in the US. There are a few in the UK, the most famous one being at Newark, where the ECML crosses the line to Lincoln: Another interesting one in the UK has recently been installed within the last few years, where the narrow gauge Welsh Highland Railway crosses Network Rail metals in Portmadog: Great project by the way, I have actually been considering doing similar myself! -
My local Tesco currently has Ninjago 9450 Epic Dragon Battle for £45.

Great looking trains, I particularly like the NS DB loco, the DB Schenker livery is one we have here in the UK too since DB took over EWS, although most of the loco's are still in liveries from 1, 2 or 3 owners ago!

Building Emerald Night. Is correct what I did?
English Electric replied to robt's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I'm glad you raised this topic robt as I checked my EN and it didn't have this fitted, so I've made the mod now. Are there any other known official changes or corrections? -
I have opened up the second motor unit and reversed te wires to the motor inside, it is relatively simple if you have soldering equipment.

Excellent, they look really good

Perhaps ramps will prove to be more of a challenge?

These are nice, I like how you have incorporated the prototypical yellow line that we have on platforms in the UK. Are these used elsewhere, I can't remember from my travels if I have seen them or not!

My advice would be to keep an eye on eBay, I watched one on there recently which had been built but was complete, and it only made £96, I think that's less than 120 euros at the moment.

MOC: LEGO turntable by Tupolev
English Electric replied to matias bendtsen's topic in LEGO Train Tech
This turntable is amazing, great idea to use the curved road base plates! I have just had a look at your video and it seems to work well What does the deck roll on at its outer edges? -
All I can see is a black square, not sure if ths is because I am viewing on an iPad or whether there is an issue? Ok, I have viewed the image by quoting your post and gabbing the link to your Flickr stream from there, this should work: IMG_5075 by alainneke, on Flickr Looks very nice, could you provide details of basically what you changed as I can't access an lxf file? Cheers, Dave

LEGO BNSF (10133) strange font differences with the real thing
English Electric replied to JopieK's topic in LEGO Train Tech
They look really good Johan, I think Lego may well have decided that the standard serif font was close enough and saved the effort of creating a customised logo? Your version certainly is an improvement -
Why not add a PF battery pack front and back with PF lights, they would last forever if they were the only load on the batteries!
-
No it should work straight away, I'm not sure if there is any kind of cutout built into the battery box, I doubt it though. Maybe there is a loose connection or dry joint inside, but hopefully your fault will not re-occur now!

What do you mean by the locomotive roof flaw? Are you referring to the addition of the orange above the windscreen referenced here (from page 4 of this topic): If so, the plate 30357 is not available in orange...
-
Sorry to ask the obvious question, but have you checked and confirmed that you have put all of the batteries in with the correct polarity?

Anyone running Lego train on OO/HO track
English Electric replied to mobi's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Why not adapt 00 models to run on RC? There must be RC receiver modules and batteries small enough to fit in 00? Alternatively have you looked at 0 gauge? I can't imagine any of the lego wheels being suitable for use on 00 track, as the flanges will be taller than the rails. But on the subject of 00 outdoors, I'm pretty sure people have done it still using powered rails, modern track has nickel rails so won't corrode, and I assume you wouldn't be planning to run it in the rain? Keeping debris off the track would be the biggest challenge! -
I don't know about the US but in the UK the set is only available via official Lego stores or on Lego shop at home. The nearest store to you appears to be in Austin, so maybe you could take a trip there. Alternatively, mail order from S@H shipping would be $13-18 depending on if you ordered 1 or 2

One other thing, although I'm not 100% on this as I haven't added a second bogie to the front loco, but I think the rear brick built bogie has its centre pivot offset by one stud to counter the fact that the other two holes in the baseplate are half covered over by bricks. To add a power bogie at the rear you would probably need to remove this brick: And replace it with one of these in white (3455 on bricklink):
