  1. Hi everyone! This is my entry for the Dream Home LDD Contest - Free Build Although I'm a software engineer by education, I dabble in architecture and interior design as a hobby here and there. This house is a concept i've had in my head for some time and it represents a dream home for me. In my vision, this house is placed on the edge of a cliff, the living room and bedroom areas are suspended over the abyss and held by columns. Imagine waking up in such a room to an unobscured view of surrounding hills and forests. The house is an open space, without doors (except on the bathroom :) ), rooms separated only by wall panels. Walls are made of brick and glass, and the floors, including the terrace, are teak. In current state, it is basically a bachelor pad :) There's a garage, a living room, bedroom and bathroom. No kitchen at the moment (although i enjoy cooking), so I guess there would be a lot of eating out :) On with the pics: The "squareness" of the house is broken by the curved bathroom wall What good is a bachelor pad without a nice porsche in the garage? :) Rare sight in a men's bedroom - a made bed :) Who can guess the lego set on the shelf? (not a tough question, I'm sure) I hope you enjoyed the presentation, it was really fun and exciting for me to materialize something I imagined for so long. It's a shame i will probably never be able to build it due to a huge brick count (the lego version :) ) <shameless propaganda>If you really like the house, kindly head over to the LEGO digital forum and vote for it :) </shameless propaganda> (theres also a .lxf file there if you are interested) Cheers!
  2. S.C.O.U.T. (Surveilance:Charting:Observation:Utility:Tactics) SCOUT is a lightweight reconnaissance ship with aerial and nautical capabilities. Equipped with a single sail and a small but powerful steam engine, powered by 3 propellers, it has excellent maneuverability and can outpace even the fastest battleships. Though the SCOUT always aims to avoid open combat, if the need arises, it can rely on a single rear mounted cannon yo discourage more persistent pursuing ships. SCOUT's typical assignments include charting new territories, battlefield surveillance, in-and-out rescue missions and various other tactical operations.
  3. LDD/MLCad 15C Hello pirate lovers! I would like to present you my latest MOC: Peter Pan and Captain Hook's Jolly Roger The set is based on the Disney's animated film. I tried to keep it as close to the original, which wasn't so easy because the ship itself doesn't get that much screen time. The design is mainly based on these two images: I think this could be a great new licensed pirate theme (there is a Peter Pan feature film coming out later this year - www.imdb.com/title/tt3332064/ and it looks right up TLG's alley :) ) If you like, it would mean the world to me if you could support it on: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/96285 Thanks!

[MOC] Peter Pan and Captain Hook's Jolly Roger

fixed :) I was thinking of a best representation for Tinkerbell but couldn't come up with anything that would adequately represent her in that scale. You could use a nanofig, but they seem so static, while Tinkerbell is all around the place constantly :) Do you guys have any ideas?

[MOC] Peter Pan and Captain Hook's Jolly Roger

You could easily make a whole theme out of it. Imagine, pirates vs indians feat. british children in their night gowns :D

[MOC] Peter Pan and Captain Hook's Jolly Roger

Unfortunately, LDD doesn't have the option of replacing a minifig hand with a hook and this torso (which i think is a very good representation of cpt. Hook) came with 2 hands. Funny enough, you are the first person, out of about 50 who commented so far on other forums, to notice it :)
  7. Sgt. Victor H. Ball is a real man's man, so if his craft is going down, he's going down with it :)
  8. My entry for the Agents of the Imperial Crown competition on Flickr Lego Steampunk group https://www.flickr.com/groups/legosteampunk/discuss/72157649710874190/ The idea is to build a steampunk version of one of the Ultra Agents set. Can you guess which one it is without clicking on the pics?

    75095 TIE Fighter

I completely agree with you. People tend to get caught up in the rant and the hate builds up. I will try to constructively explain my points. Scale: While not "significantly out of proportion", the canopy does run small, and the cockpit window looks just ridiculous. Also, the details on the canopy, pylons and the pylon - canopy connection look nothing like the "real" thing. The overall canopy design approach of stacking slopes is what I would expect of a child if given lego bricks and tasked to build a ball-like structure. Maybe if the model came out in 1999, that would be acceptable, but in the era of recent UCS models, it just looks half-arsed. The technic stand is another low point of the model. It looks like real construction scaffolding. I imagine the craft would rest on it while being bult. It's far from elegant and intrudes in the overall look of the finished model.

    75095 TIE Fighter

Not trying to toot my own horn, but that canopy looks awful and way to small for the wings. Here is a TIE interceptor, but a TIE nonetheless, thats in scale, and with a far better canopy (and a similar brick count)
  11. Did anyone try bricklinking parts for this beast? Any cost estimates?

    [MOD] Lake town chase

The official model felt very facade-y, which i didn't like, so I tried to create the feeling of a real house.

    [MOD] Lake town chase

Both doors are functional, there is no interior because I was trying to keep the brick count as close to the original model. Will post more pics later cheers!

    [MOC] TIE Interceptor v2

Some of you may remember the first version of my UCS tie interceptor. I wasnt entirely satisfied with the cockpit, so i completely redesigned it and did some work on the wings as well. I tried my best to match the official movie model as best as I could What do you guys think?

    [MOC] TIE Interceptor v2

The wing are heavy and long so they sag a bit. I'm still trying to find a cure for that Actualy, if you look at the official model, the cockpit is the right size relative to the solar panels, but you are right about the joints, they are a little on the thin size. I'll try to work that out in v3 :)

[LDD Contest] My Dream Home - Modern House

As a matter of fact the renders are not top quality at all. It would have taken 30+ hours for one render on max details I used LDD to POV-Ray Converter with the following settings: Model: Level Of Detail 2/4 Don't bevel transparent parts Use part specific bevel sizes Scene: Set color to: white Camera: perspective LDD default Lights: Light1 50% Shadow 20% Light2 50%Shadow 20% Light3 50%Shadow 20% Radiosity Custom Rendering: 1680 x 1050 Anti Aliasing: method 1 Quality: 9/12 This render takes about 3 hours on a quad core cpu

[LDD Contest] My Dream Home - Modern House

Yeah, the front was supposed to have vegetation had a driveway, but alas, no time... The rendering was a pain alright, I had 2 computers running renders for 2 days without a break. CPUs at 100% the whole time.... Could of made a barbeque of it :) If it was Bond's house I doubt the bed would be so neatly made Also, the liqueur cabinet is missing

Bricklinked UCS Millennium Falcon - MODded heavily

There's wonders to be done with the recent flod of cheap led strips. Good job!

Very nice! Especially for a one day build. Very smart head design

    Bricklinking a 10179

I understand that, but since people are now brickling it (most of the time not 100% correct parts), then it can't be considered an official set from a purist point of view. In that case why not go and improve on some details. I certainly would

    Future Star Wars Sets

With the advent of new material we will probably see a decline in the number of redesigns (thats probably why theyre going all out with redesigning old models recently) It probably also depends on the tone and the atmosphere of the new movies. Be it family-values-space-saga of the OT, the colorful-childish-action PT, or something darker and more realistic.

[MOC] Home one desk in perspective

Nice work on the forced perspective effect and the mini models! Have you tried angling the top of the walls to match the angle of the grey half? What I mean to say, the front walls have a 50-50 ratio of white and grey, then the grey part of the wall drops of at an angle to create the perspective effect, but the white part doesn't follow. So in the end you have a 20-80 ratio of grey and white. If you angled the top of the walls, that would be a home run i think

    [MOC] ARC-135

Wow, that looks amazing. The lines flow so nicely and the finished build looks very un-lego-like (meant as a compliment)
