All right pirate experts, I've recently gotten a hold of 4 of the ladybird pirate books (continuing the Will and Captain Roger story). Delightfully they were classed as 'non-fiction'... But are these the only 4? 1) Will and the Gold Chase 2) Captain Roger's Birthday 3) Adventure on Shark Island 4) The Royal Visit (the numbers on the spines) And yes I do have a use for them... God Bless, Nathan -------------------------------- Scans of the books can be downloaded here.

This set seems to appeal more to the non superhero crowd. It is one of the only marvel sets I bought. Mainly because I thought that the building was a nice return to the old style of city sets. I would love to see this sort of backdrop for a more realistic agents theme... I also liked that most of the figs in this set were easier to merge into other (non-super) uses... Thanks for the review! God Bless, Nathan

Back in faithful service after a long absence, expect a little more regularity in the future... 6035 Castle Guard Year: 1987 Elements: 49 Figs: 2 list Price: $5.75 (USD) Lugnet score (out of 100): A solid 82 Review #: 9 Resources: -Comments left on Lugnet -Building instructions and Set inventory from Peeron The Thoughts of the boomeranging Norro: ...in under a word per brick... An interesting little set, with playability, rare pieces, accessories galore, and the mystery of two box sizes. It was the red octagon that made me buy this set (years after its release) but the mysterious black knight is also a cool inclusion and many time winner of the 'most deserved a black sword' from AFOLs the world over. A black saddle and a few more grey pieces would also be nice but this set maintains a charm of its own... Guest Minifig Comments: Yes, I am the guard. Trouble is: I don't know what I'm guarding, no chest, jewel, not even a cruddy barrel with a few 1x1 yellow dots in it... Nothing! Yet no sooner am I told to guard this place than a black knight shows up, sure he has a falcon shield, but what kid will notice that when he only has the two figures in this set, and who do you think will always win this little encounter?! I am shaking and I have no where to hide, not even a wall to crouch behind... "Take the rare roof, take it!" It's So Great I Must Have It Now: -On Bricklink -Or some non-lego specific site no one has ever heard of...

Where do Rare/HTF Parts come from?
Norro replied to Turaga of Force's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Your "2451" is a very interesting part, it seems the most 'lego ready' of everything you've posted and I can really picture it being used in a lot of small sets (as opposed to some of the more sophisticated missing roof slopes for collectors). It seems like it could have been printed and work well in little scooter style sets like 6100 and 6115... Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Nathan -
I know I've been away for a while but Mrphes will vouch that I'm a purist of the purists... However after seeing this pop up on ebay, I really wish Lego would bring back a bulked up pirate line that meshed a little more closely with castle in the fortification sense... All the best and God Bless! Nathan

The forced perspective trend is not for everyone, but this is a really great and well executed example. Thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan

I normally don't like steampunk, but these are very inspiring. I love how each one gushes with character and story rather than being 'merely' picturesque. Thanks a million for sharing! God Bless, Nathan

Really exceptional, it is always nice to see the various techniques actually contribute to a scene! Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan

One of the best forts I've ever seen. I love the scale, texture, footprint, pier, and other details. Really great work. The level of vegetation is also nicely balanced. Again great work! God Bless and thanks for sharing, Nathan

I enjoyed looking through these. Great to see the thought and logic behind each class, and the appropriate touches, also like the 'contorted' scale which just 'feels' right. Thanks for sharing and God Bless! Nathan

Hello all, Wanted to take a moment to share a non-lego project with the community. So without any further talking I'm presenting (plugging) "A Belfast Story" stars Colm Meaney (Layer Cake, Hell on Wheels, Con Air, Star Trek) it is in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from Sept 20th. The site: http://www.abelfaststory.com and facebook for a full list of cinemas: https://www.facebook.com/ABelfastStory If you have the chance to see it, your support of an AFOL in his other endeavours is much appreciated! Cheers! Nathan

Hey all, for the computer ignorant I was wondering if you all could walk me through the cheapest way of getting a domain name I know I want... Thanks and God Bless, Nathan

Everyone probably forms their own mental price guides after a few months of stalking lego sales, but if you want a rough and ready way to compile a price list, why not use the BrickLink average sale price, Lagoon Lock-Up for example, and then add a standard percent discount (if you are a patient ebay searcher) or increase (if you insist on near mint condition)... God Bless, Nathan

Someone else in the lego sphere plays axis and allies?! Good to hear! God Bless, Nathan
