  2. One thing I've neglected to do is to thank all of the players. The Host only provides the stage, it's the players who bring the game to life. I thought everyone was fairly engaged into the game, and really played well, given your mafia experiences. The newer players made some newbie mistakes, but at least they were trying. And more important, I hope they learned from it, too. There were a lot of funny moments, but this quote is still my favorite:
  3. Yes but.... I mean... Hold on, let me check my notes. Here it is. Day 8. No Lynch goes into Night Actions. So if Only a Scum gets killed, SK and Town win. That didn't happen. If the Scum kills the Town and SK kills Scum, SK wins outright. If the SK kills Town and Scum targets Town or SK... WTF! I can't even follow my own notes. fhomess is correct. Scum would win at the start of a Day 9. Dammit. Ummm... Crap. Well, in light of the fact that I am a complete idiot who can't read, I have to award the win to the Scum team as well. I had notes for a reason, and didn't double check them. While Hinckley would have won as long as he didn't get lynched, I am sickened by the fact that he doesn't get the solo win he thought he was getting. For that, I apologize profusely. So, a bit belated, but congrats to the Maples, winners of Unrest in the Forest.
  4. 'Revenge of the Fallen' was sort of a joke. I have no intention to make it a reality at this time. But it would make an awesome title! I DO have an idea for another Mafia, titled "Pressure Cooker". It will probably take me 6 or so months to have it ready, however. That'll give some other hosts a chance to strut their stuff. Besides, I need a break from hosting.
  5. That was Night 7. If fhomess had sent in Foog at the conclusion, Scum would have won with you, since you took Foog out first as well. A hypothetical two player Day 9 would have happened, and the Scum would have had their voting superiority and a share of the win. But they went after Hinck again, instead.
  6. Deadboard is going to be difficult. Since only those Janitored were going to be on it, it was only a PM. Scumboard is here.
  7. I do have to give props to the Scum team. They played a magnificent game. It's too bad that Hinck and the Scum couldn't win together (It was actually possible, if both the Scum and Hinck had targeted Foog Night 8) Both deserved it, I thought. Just to clarify, in order for the scum to win, they must hold the voting advantage at the start of the new day. I actually contacted Speedy to clarify this was correct a week or two ago. Well in advance of Day 7 at least.
  8. Nope, never sent them in. It didn't affect anything, as the targets they talked about on the Scum Board weren't investigated by Scaevola.
  9. jamesn was indeed a Naive Cop, getting an 'Oak' response to every investigation.
  10. It is midday in the Forest of Galidor, and the loggers from the nearby village are busy eating lunch. Burt is enjoying a hot cup of joe, while Ernie eats the sandwich his wife made for him. Meanwhile, Walter is busy looking at a map of the forest, when something he sees strikes him as odd. "Mr Big Chief, can you take a look at this?" Walter asks. "Of course, Walter. What is it?" "We've taken trees from all over this forest, with the exception of this area right here" Walter says, pointing to a spot on the map. "Ah, yes. Take a look with these binoculars." Mr Big Chief hands the binoculars to Walter as he begins to explain: "We've tried sending men into that section time after time, and whenever they get close, they suddenly get disoriented and wander the wrong direction. Every time. Most of us oldsters think that part of the wood is haunted, or perhaps magical. The trees there do seem bigger and stronger than most," Mr Big Chief explains. "But it seems that is about to change. See, I received this note this morning, and it says that we will be allowed into that area tonight, but we may only take one specific tree, which will be pointed out to us later..." The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. Each player will be given a character to play. That character will be aligned with either the Oaks or the Maples. To win the game, the Oaks must lynch or kill off all of the Maples, while the Maplesneed to outnumber the Oaks. Any Third Party characters will have their own win conditions. 2. Each day will be played out in its own topic. During the day you will be able to vote to expel (lynch) a player. Voting must be done in the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format: Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to expel (lynch) a player, meaning that over half of the remaining players must vote for the same player to warrant a lynch. 3. A game day will last for 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end after those 72 hours. After the day has concluded, a night will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of nighttime. You may not post about the game openly on Eurobricks during that time (but may continue to use private messages). 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those that died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the next day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to you by the game host via PM. This includes the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. You may not quote/post anything sent to you by another player via PM. If you wish to use information gained in this way, you must do so in your own words only. 7. Do not play the game outside the day threads. Similarly, do not post out-of-character inside the day threads. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 8. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players (living or dead). Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 9. Don't edit your posts. 10. You must post in every day thread. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a 5-vote penalty against you on your first offense, and the death of your character on your second offense. 12. If at any time another player asks you to violate these rules (for example, asking you to give them your role PM), report this to the host immediately along with PM proof of the violation. Unrest in the Forest - Day 8: Moving Pictures

Day 8 ends with no lynch. The players have already sent me their Night Actions, the Conclusion will be up soon.
  12. Day 8: Moving Pictures There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the Maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the Oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the Oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the Maples Can't be happy in their shade There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the Maples scream 'Oppression!' And the Oaks just shake their heads So the Maples formed a union And demanded equal rights 'The Oaks are just too greedy We will make them give us light' Now there's no more Oak oppression For they passed a noble law Night returns to Galidor, and the few remaining trees wonder who will be next. One of them doesn’t have to wonder. Burt and Ernie come up to Adelaide Apple and start to work. The job is swift and merciful, and Adelaide falls. Mr Big Chief approaches another tree. The end comes quickly to Sue Sumac. Ernie approaches a third tree. “What a beautiful tree,” he says. “I just can’t bring myself to chop this tree down.” And so Simon Persimmon survives to see another day. Dawn breaks, and Alden rouses the three trees that are left. “Last night I saw visions of trees being chopped. Pictures moving through my head, showing me absolute desolation. I was certain it meant the end of Galidor. “Then I awoke to this new day, and lo and behold, only two trees met their fate during the night. What’s more, Sue Sumac was a Maple. Excellent work, my friends. “Unfortunately, you did not choose wisely in your voting. Adelaide was very much an Oak, as she repeatedly told you yesterday. “I would not be surprised if today isn’t the last day of this ordeal. Choose well, the survival of Galidor is on your shoulders. “Addendum: As there are only three players left, I am going to change up the voting a bit for Day 8. Voting will be opened immediately. The day will last a maximum of 72 hours. There will be no Unvoting. Once all three players have voted, or a consensus lynch has been achieved (i.e. two votes for one player), Day 8 will end. “The result of the Lynch will determine the winners. If 72 hours expire and no lynch has been achieved, then Night Actions will determine the winners. “Take your time, do your behind-the-scenes jockeying, and think carefully about where your vote belongs. Remember, once you vote, it is final.” The NPCs: Elder Alden Alder Burt Ernie Mr Big Chief Walter The Players: Lassie Sassafras, played by fhomess Sammy Sycamore, played by Fugazi Simon Persimmon, played by Hinckley The Fallen: Alastair Pear, played by Brickelodeon – Lynched Day 1 – Alignment Unknown Lauren Laurel, played by PirateDave84 – Felled Night 1 – Oak Buck “Dollar” Poplar, played by Mencot – Felled Night 1 - Oak Catarina Dogwood, played by adventurer1 – Lynched Day 2 - Oak Agnes Cyprus, played by JackJonesPaw – Felled Night 2 - Oak Vicky Hickory, played by Stickfig – Felled Night 2 – Oak Larry Larch, played by TheLazyChicken – Lynched Day 3 - Oak Clem Elm, played by Scaevola – Felled Night 3 – Oak Bobby Beech, played by Lord Duvors – Felled Night 3 - Oak Barry Cherry, played by jluck – Felled Night 3 – Alignment Unknown Hazel Hazelnut, played by Goliath – Lynched Day 4 – Alignment Unknown Maggie Magnolia, played by Calanon – Felled Night 4 – Oak Waldorf Walnut, played by jamesn – Felled Night 4 – Oak Berty Birch, played by Dragonfire – Lynched Day 5 – Oak Nash Ash, played by Zepher – Felled Night 5 – Oak Chester Chestnut, played by Lego Spy – Felled Night 5 – Oak Peter Cedar, played by badboytje88 – Felled Night 5 – Alignment Unknown Jack Pine, played by mostlytechnic – Lynched Day 6 - Maple William Willow, played by Scubacarrot – Felled Night 6 – Oak Bruce Spruce, played by Tamamono – Felled Night 6 – Oak Adelaide Apple, played by TinyPiesRUs – Lynched Day 7 – Oak Sue Sumac, played by Bob – Felled Night 7 - Maple The Rules, by which we shall play: 1. Unrest in the Forest - Day 8: Moving Pictures

If your intention is to take the game into Night 8 without a lynch, then voting for yourself will do the trick. There are no penalties for voting for yourself.

Unrest in the Forest - Day 8: Moving Pictures

There is a lot of confusion about the PMs all three players received, and it's my fault. I wanted all three players to know that they could win, and what conditions they needed to achieve the win. In doing this, I inadvertently let it slip that Sue (Bob) was scum early. I should have chosen my words better, and I apologize to all three remaining players. My hope is that this information hasn't affected the final day too much, but I'm afraid it has. Again, I am heartily sorry for the slip up.

Unrest in the Forest: Confirmation & Discussion

Day 8 will begin this afternoon, at 4 pm CST. For those that hate doing math, that's 6 hours from now. There will be modified Voting rules. The remaining living players have already been informed of the changes.

Unrest in the Forest - Day 7: Permanent Waves

Voting has ended for Day 7. With 4 votes, the few trees still standing think that Adelaide Apple is a Maple. Meanwhile in the logger's camp, the humans get ready for the night's work. Mr Big Chief breaks out the grinding wheel to give his axe a nice, sharp edge. Walter replaces the chain on his chainsaw, while Burt and Ernie double sharpen their saw while sitting in the grass. You have 24 hours to submit your Night Actions.
  19. Day 7: Permanent Waves There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the Maples want more sunlight And the Oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the Maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the Oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the Oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the Maples Can't be happy in their shade There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the Maples scream 'Oppression!' And the Oaks just shake their heads So the Maples formed a union And demanded equal rights 'The Oaks are just too greedy We will make them give us light' Night comes for the sixth time to the Forest Clearing of Galidor. The all too familiar hum of the generators and thwacks of axe falls soon fills the air. Mr Big Chief begins his night by taking down one of the smallest remaining trees. It is not difficult, and soon Jack Pine lies on the forest floor. Since he is in the area, Mr Big Chief tackles the next tree, which is a bit more substantial. It isn’t long before William Willow joins his bretheren in the stumpy afterlife. Meanwhile Burt and Ernie go to work on a decent sized tree. They watch, satisfied, as Bruce Spruce crashes to the ground. The following morning, Alden the Elder Alder speaks to the diminished forest. “Ahh, feel the wind blowing through your leaves. Strange thing, the wind, almost like a semi-permanent wave, always there, but changing form.” The remaining trees aren’t sure what to make of the Alder’s sudden, philosophical tangent. “I have good news and I have bad news,” he continues. “Bad news first. We lost two good trees last night. Bruce Spruce and William Willow were both Oaks.” “However, there is good news. Jack Pine was decidedly a Maple, just as you suspected. “There is still hope. You found one Maple, you can find the rest. Go to it.” The NPCs: Elder Alden Alder Burt Ernie Mr Big Chief Walter The Players: Adelaide Apple, played by TinyPiesRUs Lassie Sassafras, played by fhomess Sammy Sycamore, played by Fugazi Simon Persimmon, played by Hinckley Sue Sumac, played by Bob The Fallen: Alastair Pear, played by Brickelodeon – Lynched Day 1 – Alignment Unknown Lauren Laurel, played by PirateDave84 – Felled Night 1 – Oak Buck “Dollar” Poplar, played by Mencot – Felled Night 1 - Oak Catarina Dogwood, played by adventurer1 – Lynched Day 2 - Oak Agnes Cyprus, played by JackJonesPaw – Felled Night 2 - Oak Vicky Hickory, played by Stickfig – Felled Night 2 – Oak Larry Larch, played by TheLazyChicken – Lynched Day 3 - Oak Clem Elm, played by Scaevola – Felled Night 3 – Oak Bobby Beech, played by Lord Duvors – Felled Night 3 - Oak Barry Cherry, played by jluck – Felled Night 3 – Alignment Unknown Hazel Hazelnut, played by Goliath – Lynched Day 4 – Alignment Unknown Maggie Magnolia, played by Calanon – Felled Night 4 – Oak Waldorf Walnut, played by jamesn – Felled Night 4 – Oak Berty Birch, played by Dragonfire – Lynched Day 5 – Oak Nash Ash, played by Zepher – Felled Night 5 – Oak Chester Chestnut, played by Lego Spy – Felled Night 5 – Oak Peter Cedar, played by badboytje88 – Felled Night 5 – Alignment Unknown Jack Pine, played by mostlytechnic – Lynched Day 6 - Maple William Willow, played by Scubacarrot – Felled Night 6 – Oak Bruce Spruce, played by Tamamono – Felled Night 6 - Oak The Rules, by which we shall play: 1.
