I can answer at least that last question: But yeah, all this speculation about the future is kinda tied to our speculation about the Ahsoka set Pretty sure it's gotta be Sato's ship now. I hope the minifigs have more excitement to them than just "Ahsoka, Sato, and frowny stormies"... maybe AP-5? Rebel troops? Seventh Sister?)

That'll never happen, not with the comics & various books covering that already. There's a finite time to work with amid the OT films, and it's going to be well-trod ground for the most part by the time they're ready for another series... it might have been a good idea before Marvel's series began, but they wouldn't have been able to cover much of the ground the comics & books have the freedom to do. I'm expecting something set between 6 & 7, probably following new characters or characters that haven't really been touched on much, yet. There are 3 decades between those films, so plenty of room to find a place for a several-season-long show... but again, not terribly likely to feature the OT main characters. Luke goes off & does the Jedi thing mostly separate from Han & Leia, and we already know from Bloodline that Han & Leia tended to spend a lot of time apart because politics wasn't really his thing (tho they were still very devoted to one another; I haven't read far enough into the book to see how they handled Ben's childhood, if that's touched on at all...just one flashback memory of Ben as an infant in Han's arms). But there's still plenty of fun they could have with a series between 6 & 7, regardless of who the main characters are. If there was, it was likely a fan-made creation. I vaguely recall someone talking about an idea about who was Red Five before Luke joined Red Squadron, but again I think that was fan stuff, nothing remotely official. They haven't announced a thing about "future series" yet, or even anything beyond Episode IX and the 3rd Star Wars Story (of which nothing content-wise has been confirmed). Rogue One may've had other names earlier on, I forget, but not as a series... I think a lot of people think Rebels is gonna end soon because Rogue One is on the way, which takes place right before ANH... some think there'll be a tie-in with Rebels leading directly into Rogue One, but Rebels is still 4 years before ANH--and so 4 years before Rogue One! It's possible they could introduce some characters into Rebels Season 3, like maybe the Spectres run across a living-on-her-own Jyn Erso or the ISB cape-guy is Kallus' superior. But who knows? I don't think Rebels is necessarily at its "mid-point"; they've still got lots of space to develop the show (and, likewise, sets related to the show! They're barely breaking into Season 2 sets this summer!)

I would guess that they only built the one bridge set, and used it for the Executor as well as the Avenger & the SD that gets hit by the ion cannon during the Hoth evacuation (I forget the name of that one). The Executor has a bigger bridge tower, but the bridge itself within that tower is still the same size. This shot from the Avenger certainly looks enough like the Executor's that you should be fine keeping it the same... -
A combat frigate could just be a medical frigate with several medical bays revamped into missile storage, extra shield generators, turbo laser control systems, etc. In Lego terms, it probably just means "more spring-loaded launchers & flick-fires!"
-
Oh yeah! I forgot that was the origin of the model of Sato's command ship, that'd make it a valid "frigate" option.
-
Oh yeah! Good call on the Republic Frigate... yeah, the Corellian Corvette might be a likely option, tho I'd love it if it were Sato's command ship instead. If it has Sato as part of the set anyway, that'd be fine (hopefully they print a nice blue on his upper torso, to help him stand out from the dark tan Imperial officers... his uniform is definitely suited for dark tan! Dual-molded legs with dark brown boots would be a fantastic bonus). Ahsoka, Sato, a couple Rebel troopers with their new helmets; the last seems a stretch. Maybe they'll make it into a Battle Pack someday. The Hammerhead Transport wouldn't exactly cause any conflict with the Star Scavenger, despite its preliminary "Hammerhead" name... the Scavenger's 'hammerhead' is horizontal, while the KOTOR-esque transports are vertical.
-
"Combat Frigate"... we know about the Medical Frigate, and the old EU had an Assault Frigate, but those seem unlikely. If it's the Ahsoka set, and therefore definitely from Rebels, the options are limited: the Hammerhead transports, the Quasar Fire-class carrier, and Sato's command ship I suppose. The Shadow Caster might work, as it's sort of a combat-oriented vessel, but it's classified as a dropship, which is a far cry from "frigate". Or maybe it's something new... whatever the case, "frigate" makes it sound like it'll be a big ship, and therefore a pricey set

He was one of the first characters named in official materials, and shown in photos... I recall fan boards at the time wondered if he'd be the "Han" of the movie--basically what Poe kinda was in TFA. Not exactly how he turned out... But that minifig is terrific! Great batch of updates all around.

There are still people asking if this series is gonna be canon on social media... and one guy in particular who likes to cite a quote from a member of the Story Group as if she's saying it's canon, but it's clear that it's too "Lego" to ever be canon--plus, the Kybersaber alone is enough to nix it. It looks like a lightsaber, but the entire blade is Kyber crystal. Which is ridiculous! (yes, even for a universe where a higher concentration of tiny lifeforms in your blood means you can move stuff with your mind and there's sound in space) edit: Also, I really wish they'd do up those Ventress hilts in metallic silver or pearl dark grey or something... there are probably reasons why they can't, but it'd be nice to see. Same with Dooku's saber in something other than chrome!

He was more of a dijon-mustard in TCW, not "lime green" Dark Tan or Olive Green would probably work well with Bossk in Lego form... much better than Sand Green anyway! Either way, we'd then have a dark tan or olive green Trandoshan head for populating our SW cantinas & marketplaces with. I kinda favor dark tan, if only for the chance for Lego to produce dark tan hands again. I love that color for hands! I've replaced most of the tan hands from my Endor Commandos with dark tan hands, and they look so much nicer. It's a great "glove" color. Plus dark tan Trandoshan heads are also useful for Saurin figures for the Mos Eisley cantina & elsewhere! Just need to maybe sharpie out the colored iris print on the head to make 'em a bit more accurate

She'll probably just be fighting another dark tan Imperial Officer with the same head & rank markings as the others, and another frownie-helmet Stormtrooper. Yes! You can tell by the torso print, with the surcoat OVER the upper chest armor, Rebels/ANH-style.

Only if you plan to open it up and build it! ...it's still on my list to get, since it's useful as the Tydirium with the figures provided, as well as useful as an Imperial shuttle with Imperial characters. If we had the right pieces, I'd also try to make Leia's team that stole the shuttle in the first place from "Moving Target" (tho that team was down to 3 by the time they escaped in the shuttle: Leia in an Imp uniform, the Cerean communications specialist Kidi Aleri, and Nien Nunb) -
The comics are turning out lots of great characters for potential figs (I'd still like to get a Yavin Ceremony Luke WITHOUT the medal, since they're using that outfit quite a bit in the comics--they did the same in the Dark Horse days with the EMPIRE comic, too, tho they darkened the jacket to a light brown--kinda like Poe's/Finn's, now that I think about it). Sana Starros, Dr. Aphra, BT-1, 0-0-0, L'ulo...
-
That makes sense. We'll hopefully get the Imperial tank, maybe whatever ship Forrest Whitaker is in when he's giving his little speech (you can see one of the seats behind him), probably some speeder sets of some sort (air, bike, land, whatever--I imagine we'll see something of that sort) and maybe a couple "Battle on Takodana"-style playsets (Marketplace Ambush, Imperial Base Raid, whatever). There's probably still room for other fighters/ships, too... can't wait to see what they've got in store! Can we all agree to just wait for news on the exclusive Ahsoka set? Asking about it every dozen posts isn't gonna make it arrive any sooner, nor are those who acquire tidbits of info on upcoming sets (like Sir von Lego) likely to just forget to let us know about one of the most-asked-about sets of the last few months.

501st packs are one of those no-brainers that should've been done awhile ago. Like, in place of last year's weird Geonosis Troopers which didn't match anything from any source... it was just "How can we reuse these Airborne helmets?!", it seemed. They could've easily done that pack in 501st deco (501st Airborne? Yes please!) but maybe they balked because they'd just made a 501st gigantic AT-RT recently... so having a better-scaled not-quite-AT-RT with a multi-stud-shooter could've been vetoed. Or maybe they didn't want two blue-themed BPs at the same time, what with the Senate Commandos set. Or...I don't know. But it really should've been there instead of the Poop Troops. -
The Clone Wars takes place between the films! Seems like fair game.

Odd that Thrawn & Isard have Clone Wars-era uniforms, tho they look pretty great overall. I think J Jonah Jameson's face works for a Thrawn-era Pellaeon, and then Yularen's face would work for a Hand of Thrawn/NJO/"Old Man of the Empire" Admiral/Grand Admiral Pellaeon. They're close enough that they could pass for "same guy, different ages" I think.
-
But one problem is that they've got several shades that can work wonderfully already! The Freemaker sibs have decent shades for Kanan (which they DID use), Ezra, Sabine... slightly darker gets you Panaka, the Zabrak Jedi Knight, and Quinlan Vos... darker still you have Finn, etc. I think there might be a couple other colors that could be used in the middle there, too. I like Panaka's head for clones, personally... it's generic enough, good skin tone. The Freemakers might prove useful in updating Ezra & Sabine (sure, the youngest Freemaker's face might be a little too kiddie, but Ezra is the youngest of the group after all, and maybe it'll prove a nice alternative to Space Aladdin). They can get a lot more mileage out of the available colors than they're getting, is my main point tho... Lor San Tekka's torso & legs would make for great SW civilians, perhaps even politicians... and be very useful for Castle fans, too, I imagine! Great print! Thanks for posting pics!
-
Looks great! You just have to be careful to photograph him so his alt-face isn't showing Little jealous you've got two Piett torsos there... I tried ordering a couple from Bricklink, different sellers, but was sent Tarkin torsos instead
-
For Sabine's hair, I wish the piece was more like this one (used for Ninjago's Cole and Marvel's Quicksilver), just with the part reversed & maybe the 'bangs' a little shorter. That'd be better than the bulbous one they've got now. Nice idea with the Aladdin head (tho that'll just keep the "Ezra is Space Aladdin" comparisons alive even longer), and I agree it'd probably be a better fit for Sabine's skin tone, too (so Kordi Freemaker's head might be a good substitute!). The Kanan change was kinda disappointing, if only because I read "A New Dawn" before watching the show and I'm pretty sure his hair was described as black in there... but, for all we know it could've been dyed as part of his ever-changing identity. It's disappointing, but not surprising, that they haven't adjusted their skin tones... considering it's been 8 years now and the clones & Fetts are all still far, far paler than Temuera Morrison, Bodie Taylor, or Daniel Logan.

Tarkin's uniform in the film/show is meant to be olive grey, which is something of a warm grey. Lego no longer has a warm grey, only cool greys (what we know as "bleys"). Dark Tan is a poor substitute for the old dark grey, which was a warm grey... and in different lighting, the uniforms can appear different shades. In the Death Star conference, for instance... in a wide photo that was paired with a diorama with the "Death Star Briefing" action figure set from Hasbro, it seems like Tarkin & Motti have warm grey uniforms, while Tagge & Bast have cool grey. In other shots, tho, Motti's & Tagge's appear identical. The simple fact is that dark tan should not be used for the uniforms, regardless of the color pickers in screen grabs from Rebels or the turnaround concept art for them... if you take that Tarkin and put him around a Death Star conference table (10188 or MOC) with other bley officers & Yularen, he'll look wildly out of place. Someday I might print up a decal & slap it on an old plain dark grey torso and use that as a better Tarkin... until then, I'll be using the 10188's torso, as that feels far more accurate than the Rebels dark tan torso. Re: blasters from a page or two ago, my main problem with the stud shooters is... it shoots studs. And then you have to go find them! Bouncing across the hardwood/linoleum/tiles, buried in the carpet, rolled under the couch, etc... that's not so fun. At least flick fires are pretty easy to spot by comparison... ...anyhow, at least the Kanan's Bike set provides a bunch of regular blasters, and they aren't too difficult or pricey on BrickLink (the newer colors are getting a little cheaper, too, which is nice... I nabbed a few silver Rey pistols awhile back, so now Cad Bane has a pair of silvers as he should!) I like the pics of the figures, tho the clones are too bland, and the usual critiques apply for them as back before we got hi-res pics of 'em (need darker skin, dual-molded arms, some blue on Rex, etc). Quinlan Vos looks fantastic, as does Luminara. Poe in the jacket is a must-have, Fifth Brother looks cool, Lor San Tekka looks good, as do the Freemaker siblings. The only ones I don't really care about are the battle droids, Unkar, and Teedo.

Nice! Seeing more pics like that certainly makes the ship look more enjoyable to me. Next-gen Grievous fighter. Still kinda annoyed that Lego "spoiled" her dual nature as "Jedi" and "darksider"... but given the deco of the ship, I guess it was unavoidable (not many Jedi would tool around in a black ship with dark red trim & a red canopy). Torso & leg print is nice! Dengar looks good; I like the switch to dark browns & a white torso. Nice detailing. Not sure the new face print is necessarily an improvement over the previous one, but the change from "bandana" to "bandage wrap" sure is! Kinda wish he had leg printing, but no big deal... plain dark brown legs are still pretty awesome on their own.

Yes. Both him & Quiggold! (and Kix, tho we've yet to see what Kix looks like as part of their crew--if he's still part of their crew at the time of TFA, of course)
