REVIEW: 8833 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 8
chard5000 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Love the review. On your the topic of the Evil Robots red hand, I'd just like to chime in that I love it. Every time I see lego sci-fi in black and red I immediately think of Spyrius. So what I've been doing is buying the robot in twos and swapping parts to make 2 forms of new spyrius droids. one has two regular arms and red hands, as well as a standard visorless black helmet, the other has the bucket helmet and 2 clamp arms. Making the original spyrius droid the spy/data gatherer, the black helmeted one the soldier, and the claw handed the heavy armored kill-bots. Now my Galaxy patrol can have a serious fight. -

Maybe "Mr. Freeze" is a new Ice Planet 2002 type guy. That would be awesome. -
LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

Found a fresh box at Toys R Us this evening. Grabbed the Bat, The Actor, The Alien Queen, and The Evil Robot. The Queen is great, I'm not a huge fan of the dress brick to begin with, but I only need 1 Queen. The Bat goes great with my Zombie Crypt. The Actor is great with the double sided head and everything. My favorite though is the Evil Robot. I may get a few of them, make a mini Spyrius Droid Mk.II army. -
I feel that my problem with the witch, and its only a minor problem, is the rest of the set contents. The zombie, ghost, and grave stone all facilitate this to be army-buildable. Make a whole cemetery for your castle, or haunted house and have any army of ghosts and ghouls parading about. But the witch is semi-specific. It would be a little weird to have an army of those. Of course this isnt a problem for people who don’t care for army building in the slightest. And for some reason I'm drawing a blank on anything that would fit it better. The Monster? Mad Scientist? Not any better and we have them in the regular monster fighter line anyway. Maybe the new Man-Bat. At least we haven't seen the witch since her CMF appearance.

And the Silver Surfer. Can't forget Norrin. Well; and Anihillus.

The Hobbit, inbetween some H.P. Lovecraft, Zombie short stories, and a backlog of Star Wars novels (why are you so awesome Rogue Squadron?)

I think I need to go rewatch that episode! Its been too long. -
greetings all. Currently I am reading: - Green Lantern - Secret Avengers - X-O Manowar and actually that might be it... I whittled my list down quite a bit. Though I am quite looking forward to the new Phantom Stranger series coming soon.

My word! I had just finished my own Spyrius MOC and then saw this. Mine looks considerably less impressive now... Amazing job.

I will definitely snag those monsters. The witch is not amazing, but the other 2 are very welcome additions to my Legion of Monsters.

1 Galactic Miner (M-Tron redux) 2 Wolfpack Bandit 3 Judge 4 Guy in an Elephant Suit 5 Witch Dr. that was originally planned for the Zombie set. 6 Lego set Designer (like an employee) 7 Pro-Bowler 8 Old-timey criminal mastermind (to oppose the detective) 9 Historic-type knight 10 Roller-derby skater 11 Mountain Back-packer 12 Comic shop owner (with lego comics) 13 Movie Director 14 Female Elf 15 Sasquatch 16 Mythological Hero Doesn’t seem very likely, but I wouldn't mind a set like that. -
Thank you sir! And welcome to you as well! While I myself was mostly into the space stuff, My brother was definitely into the castle and pirate themes, I distinctly remember thinking the islanders were really cool. Other than that we may have had a few city sets between the 2 of us, but that’s about it for our lego depth. My parents went to visit him and his wife recently and I sent an old Forestman along. But he's going to have to come back for all his Wolfpack and Dragon Knights.

Hello, My name is Chard, and I decided to finally join Eurobricks. I grew up with lego between the Space Police 1 through the appearance of Exploriens timeframe. After which was a dark time where I sold all (or most) of my awesome old toys at various garage sales because of course such things weren't "cool." So fast forward to modern times and I have been drawn back into lego thanks to the Galaxy Patrol minifig. At first I only grabbed 1, and thought "that’s enough." but then I somehow ended up with 8… I went back to my parents to retrieve what was left of my brother and I's old lego stashes. After rifeling through a couple buckets and a lunch box I was amazed at how many of my dear old space figures I didn’t sell. Most notably my 2 favorite minifigs of all time a Blacktron 1 fig and 2 Spyrius Droids. Ahh nostalgia. Sadly something diabolical must have happened as I could only recover helmets and torsos of fallen Space Police 2 and M-Tron civilians. Anyway, that’s my story in a nutshell, I'm currently really loving the CMF line, slowly but surely getting into the Monster Fighters line (love the Zombie set), and fervently wishing for a comeback of all my old favorite Space themes.
