LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
The lady vampire says "Elvira - Mistress of the Dark" to me with Velma Staplebots's hair in black ;) -
If you want my opinion, maybe Scooby Doo and his meddling kids can break the The Great Cookie Smuggling Cartel of the Detective Agency Modular Set! As the baking and smuggling of the cookies is taking place right under Ace Brickman's nose, he clearly has NO SKILLS to solve that case without their help! Use Velma's smarts and show Ace how it's done!!! ;)

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I have been expecting a Bride of Frankenstein or as LEGO may say "Bride of The Monster". They could use Marge Simpson’s hair in black with some grey electric bolts up the side. I love this series. -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
Pirzyk - while you have expanded the sidewalk to the road of the road baseplate, have you also moved the modular building a few studs forward toward the road too with respect to the baseplate that it came with? It looks pretty cool, so I was wondering how many studs you pulled the modular building forward? -
I was there for the store opening on January 1st for the release of Detective’s Office, Slave 1 and the Series 13 Collectable Minifigures. It was just short of a stampede when they opened the doors. Next year I hope they stagger some of those releases, so it’s not so crazy (and safer)!

I live in SF, so I assume you frequent the LEGO store in the Hillsdale Mall frequently?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
In the past there have been many discussions that the part count drives up the prices and so there is a compromise between the interior and the exterior to come to what is a marketable price. I am currently adapting a second Pet Shop, and I was very surprised by some of the inefficiencies of the bricks used. As an example, they would lay (2) 1x4 Bricks Short Side to Short Side verses using (1) 1x8. I’m not saying that I want them to use those awful completely pre built walls like in some of the City and Friends’ sets, but I hope they can be more efficient and then in turn give us a better balance of the interior and exteriors as both are important to me. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series Discussion
SFmuscle73 replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
My interpretation of “new-again” is we will see variations of previous CMF’s. In the movie trailer we see a red wrestler (while in Series 1 we had a blue wrestler) and we see a mermaid with blue hair in the trailer (while in Series 9 we had the blonde mermaid). My assumption is that we won’t see “vintage” minifigures. They had a separate line dedicated to that a few years back and it appears it was not as popular as the CMF series. -
Modular Building 10243 Parisian Restaurant (2014 Modular Building)
SFmuscle73 replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Town
I have been thinking about this quite a bit & I suppose one possibility is the following. Perhaps it may have a similar design to the Market Street Set. It may be a one 3-story building that is 16 studs wide and the remaining 16 studs of the baseplate will be an outside dining area open to the sky, yet enclosed/arcaded from the street. I suppose the dining area would have direct access from the street and the bottom level of the 3-story building would be a grand kitchen with many interesting building techniques for appliances. The upper 2-stories would be fully furnished residential (since the piece count is lower with less bricks for the single building) with the apartment entry off the street level. There were three ideas that lead me to my thoughts above. First a Parisian Restaurant typically has outdoor dining and the idea above covers that. Second the front of the modular building traditional aligns with the adjacent modular buildings and therefore limits seating vs. pedestrian sidewalk access. Finally, trying to cram an entry to the apartment, an entry to the restaurant and tables with chairs would get at most two tables outside, and I think a restaurant would want to have more seating than that. Those are my thoughts Nesquick!- 198 replies

REVIEW: 71002 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 11
SFmuscle73 replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great work WhiteFang – I really appreciate all the work that you put into these reviews! In addition, please give a big thank you to your wife from all of while you focused on this endeavor! Can you confirm that the Tiki Warrior’s face and Grandma’s basket are the only medium rubber piece of this series? The Diner Waitress’ hair looks like a potential Friend’s Line knock off which are mostly medium rubber. Does the welding helmet have any transparency at the eye socket? I can’t tell in the photos.- 117 replies

Modular Building 10243 Parisian Restaurant (2014 Modular Building)
SFmuscle73 replied to GRogall's topic in LEGO Town
Now that that they have included exclusive printing to the Modular Line, the printed clock disk for TH and the printed sidewalk star tiles for PC, I am hoping that the set comes with printed (not stickers) round tiles that represent two or more food dishes for the Parisian Restaurant. I know that they made two printed food dishes for the Paradisa Dolphin Point Set in 1995, so there is a precendent. It will be too soon if I see another genetically altered large apple or a carb coma sized loaf of bread!- 198 replies

When I first looked at the set from the chimney side (exterior), I was trying to figure out what that silver thing is coming out toward the base. I then was examining the interior wondering if they had dropped the “Light-up Brick” element from the series. I now speculate that the light-up brick is in the fireplace which I actually think is a cool idea. Well I’m a new member and that’s the thought behind my first ever, official post!
