    MOC: Patentee locomotive

Love what you did with the tiles for the boiler lagging. The whole locomotive is just perfect, great work!

That is amazing, dude! It's refreshing to see LEGO trains in a large scale such as this. :)

Nice SNOT work! You've captured the shape and curves very well in LEGO.

    [REVIEW]: 75058 MTT

Thank you for the review! This is a tough one. The MTT is my favorite PT vehicle and I already own the 2007 version, but I'm still debating whether I should buy this. Those gaps in the structure, and the amount of droids don't really bother me, it's the size that's bothers me. It should at least be the same size as the previous one.

    Official Lego Movie

Well after waiting a while I finally bought the DVD and watched this film for the first time with my family yesterday. I loved every second of it. I was so worried it was going to be a flop or wouldn't live up to the hype that's been going on. But after watching it, I have to say I'm glad LEGO managed to pull of such a great film! The movie itself was beautiful and I loved the brick styled water as well. Question though, was this movie actually done in stop motion or was it all digitally done to look that way?
  7. For anyone interested in classic 9v trains I'm selling my set here: http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1555.l2649 Note: I only ship within the United States. PM me if you have any questions or have an offer you'd like to make.

That is fantastic! Clever use of the light strips, I was considering using them for train car lighting too.

It looks like it could be the water injector line to the check valve.

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

Well I've had a change of mind on the MTT. I don't mind the fact it's not as smooth as 7662, it reminds me of older Star Wars sets. Now it all comes down to price. If it's $100 then I'mm not buying.

CP0186 my first steam MOC 1-4-2

Nice steamer you built there! Very accurate to the prototype too. What is the apparatus in front of the smoke box? Is that the air reservoir for brakes?

LEGO Star Wars 2014 Pictures and Rumors

For those who missed out on the previous MTT it will be nice to own, but I feel like it's a step back from 7662. It's primarily the shape of the sides to the rear that look too square and not sloped like in the film. Personally I would have preferred a tan AAT.

What's your recent LEGO Star Wars Purchase?

Yesterday I picked up a few LEGO sets, two of which were Star Wars. I bought 75035 Kashyyyk Troopers and 75040 General Grievous Wheel Bike. The wheel bike is a BIG improvement over the original however I wished they included the Boga as well. As for the battle pack I thought it was good too. I have to say I was skeptical about the new blasters and how well they'd work but I think they're great and add lots of playability for kids.

What would be your wish? If you had one wish.

Straighter track! And on a serious note I wish LEGO made wider turnouts and larger radius curves.

Class 55 Deltic, Class 37 and Class 27

Excellent work, Bricktrix! I love the amount of work you go through to make these trains as detailed as possible. I'm toying with installing a USA trains smoke unit into my class B 4-6-0 to accompany the sound board.

I'm just happy the cargo train has DOORS! Those green objects being lowered onto the flatbeds looks almost like spools of wire.

    French Type 120 Steam Locomotive

Well after much design attempts here it is. An early design of French 2-4-0 steam locomotive from the 1890's for the Chemins de fer de l'ouest (or West Railways). I'm not sure what the particular design or class is called or where they were built (some sources say they were built in Scotland). They're inside cylinder driven with outside frames and outside Gooch valve gear and connecting rods. This site shows more examples of this abundant type of locomotive if you scroll halfway down. http://roland.arzul....l/ouest_x2x.htm Many might recognize this type of locomotive from the famous photo of the 1895 derailment at Gare Montparnasse station in Paris. There were many versions of this class built throughout the years and have different styled footplates, cabs (enclosed and open), smoke boxes, and steam domes. I'm going to try and redesign the wheels to allow a PF motor and see if I can make the engine powered. The front wheels, although aren't meant to swivel like the prototype, are still causing problems on curves so I'll need to make them flangless. More photos here! http://www.flickr.co...s/46711946@N07/ Questions or and constructive comments welcome.

    French Type 120 Steam Locomotive

Thanks guys :) Thank you, and I am in fact working on three carriages for it. Oh dear, you had to point that out. I'm going to get keelhauled for this but I did cut a chain in half to get the right length. I'm a 98% purist. Thank you very much. I feel the same about the tender, however I think it's also because locomotive tenders tend to be just a box on wheels and not typically visually appealing. I mean apart from some types like the German railway tenders and even the one I built for the Swedish 4-6-0.

Thank you everyone! I'm honored to be front paged. The rings are custom stickers, the only non-LEGO usage apart from the BBB wheels.

    NEWS 2014 trains!

Well I'm not disappointed by the passenger train, I wasn't expecting anything great to begin with. Why does LEGO feel the need to make the entire front half of these passenger trains out of ONE SOLID PIECE? At least the previous train we got was a step up since it was built from multiple bricks. The blue cargo train looks promising though. Very nice to see LEGO do some more American prototypes instead of the traditional European locomotives.

    Runaway Train Diorama

Well it's finally finished after three months of on and off work. For those who don't recognize this scene it's the climax to the runaway train sequence from the 1997 animated Don Bluth film, "Anastasia". The films villain, Rasputin sends his flying minions to sabotage the train Anastasia and her friends are traveling on bound for Paris and they're preparing to jump to safety. This is the first landscape diorama I've built and so a few areas like the snow are very rough and not very smooth like I hoped it would turn out. The locomotive has an LED in the cab to light up as well. Flickr photo set here: http://flic.kr/s/aHsjMQn3M4 http://flic.kr/p/hJwN4X <Video Cheers!
