    Thanks guys.
  2. Oh I didn't even realize they made it in dark blue, lol. I guess now I'll have to pick up a that set.

I've started clay sculpting again (last time was in middle school) but I've never done people before. This is Zelda from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I've never played the game but I like her design in this one. Everything besides the base and lyre strings is Sculpty brand clay, also the last image has the missing gold trim on the hem of her dress. I Hope there's plenty of Zelda fans here!
  4. Very Nice! It's great to see more Swedish locomotives, the decoupler is a nice touch too. Did you use vinyl stickers for the dark blue windscreen on the orange loco?
  5. The first thing I thought of when seeing that robot, was this... As for the new Mindstorms I personally can't wait. I've never owned any Mindstorm sets but now I think I'd like to try it out.

    Wide gauge technic trains

nicjasno, I have a large scale LEGO engine I just finished building actually. I should post a pic tomorrow so you can see. I too have been interested in building trains in larger scales, specifically 1:22.5 which is what many garden railway trains are modeled in. Like Duq already mentioned, these trains are heavy and the poor locomotive can barely pull it's own weight without the addition of side rods. I might install a Bachmann can motor and run it off track power.

    79111 Constitution Train Chase Discussion

Great now I'm torn between getting this or the Horizon Express, maybe I'll wait to see the final image of the set. Any ideas on whether this set will include a oval of track?

    2013 Lone Ranger Sets

Hey if it means another LEGO train I'm all for it! Plus more Wild West themed parts!

    LDD MOC: Cable Car

Nice work! I'd love it if LEGO made this a set.

    Friends "Controversy"

Most people I've met are glad LEGO is making sets for girls as demonstrated in the yahoo comments. It's the comments on the CCFC page that make me sad. Lot of people blaming TLC as being "sexist"... *sigh*

    Friends "Controversy"

There seems to be a lot of mixed feelings when it comes to the Friends line and this whole debate was brought up again when I was scrolling through Yahoo news. The CCFC (The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood) has put together a list of the worst toys of the year with LEGO friends topping the list. They gave it the TOADY award or "Toys Oppressive And Destructive to Young Children." Also a quote from the CCFC "so jam-packed with condescending stereotypes it would even make Barbie blush. Bye-bye square, androgynous figures; hello, curves 'n eyelashes!" The full article can be found here: http://games.yahoo.c...-180502792.html Now I couldn't help but laugh, then facepalm. What do you guys think? Also this thread can be moved if it's in the wrong place. I couldn't find the Friends discussion thread.

    ME Models R56

Very nice! I missed out on buying some of the previous rails before they sold out. Not this time though!

    MOC: Local Train Station

Beautiful job, it's huge! My favorite part is the curved platform.

LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors

That AT-RT is HUGE! Too oversized. As for the rest of the sets I'll pass. Maybe I'll get the A-Wing since it's a fav of mine but nothing from Star Wars recently has caught my eye.

    New Track Design from BBB

Ooh I can't wait. This will certainly add some realism for those who like to build railway construction scenes. Reminds me of the old 12V system with the separate rails and ties instead of a single unit.

    MOC: Swedish Railways 4-6-0

Thanks, Annie. After a while and the more you build and learn new techniques you'll be looking back at how primitive your first MOC's were. I'm still working on improving my building techniques.

    MOC: Swedish Railways 4-6-0

Swedish State Railways or Statens Järnvägar (SJ) 'B' Class 4-6-0 Number one on my favorite steam locomotive list these engines are just so darn handsome. These hard working locomotives were first introduced to Swedish State Railways in 1909 and drew it's inspiration from the Prussian State Railways P8 4-6-0's from 1906. They have some unusual features not normally seen on most steam locomotives such as the streamlined wind cutter cab, streamlined smokebox, and strange tender design. They proved to be an excellent operator for all duties and pulled both passenger and freight trains in Sweden. They were built up until 1920 with a total of 99 locomotives built. This isn't the first time I've modeled this locomotive from LEGO. My first attempt was in about 2005, however due to the limited bricks I had and parts that I'd have to wait a few more years for LEGO to release, it was severely lacking. It was done from memory, didn't have the right cab shape, boiler was too small and other features too blocky. A nice before and after shot. This time I revisited the locomotive and built it first on LDD to see what I needed for parts. This time I remembered to include the wind cutter cab (hard thing to model in LEGO) and the larger drivers and boiler. Also unlike my earlier MOCs this time my engine is able to navigate LEGO curved track and is also motorized! But that's not all, it actually has SOUND installed! I used a sound card from one of my G scale model trains and installed it in the tender. When the train starts moving it sounds the whistle and increased the chuff rate as the power increases. A LEGO wire clips onto the forward motor and goes straight into the card with no soldering necessary. These sound cards can be adjusted to fit your particular locomotive by adjusting a series of screw terminals on the chip itself. These sound cards are available from www.mylocosound.com. MOC: Swedish Railways 4-6-0

Thanks, It's the strangest tender I've seen so far. The only problem with the sound is it becomes muffled on some areas of the track farthest from the regulator because of the voltage drop. It's quite a surprise to me when I went to my old MOC folders and saw how different it looks now compared to how I thought it looked to me back then. We're all improving on our skills. ;) Yeah I wondered where my first post went. Haha Thank you. :)

    10233 Horizon Express

Oh heck yes! I'm defiantly buying this! The colors, the shape and detail are just amazing. Also I like that this time we have a woman train driver for once.

Review: 10170 TTX Intermodal Double-Stack Car

Excellent review, mostlytechnic. These came out around the time I entered my LEGO dark ages and I was never excited by the designs LEGO was coming out with for their trains. I'm more into the Euro styled trains. They certainly look great behind the BNSF engine.

    Newsstand - wip

"Let's see. Sports magazine, People magazine, Map to the canyon of the Crescent Moon..." This is looking good so far. I like the color scheme it has right now but like the others above me mentioned you could try grey and see how that looks. I'm thinking of real life examples but whatever you think looks good is fine.
