  1. Great conversation with Paul. I really enjoyed part two and then the story behind the crowkillers name was the icing on the cake. Keep up the great work Paul! I hope Lego leverages some of your ideas into some future car models although their latest car definitly lacked the attention to detail that you put into your models.
  2. I find the lack of Technic parts a real shame. I actually picked up an extra Unimog kit for the orange parts and pneumatic pieces. It sounds expensive, but when you look at the prices of the pieces on Bricklink or through Lego Education, it was not a bad value at all. I would like to build models that are some color other than black and bley. Even the red and yellow plates are rare/expensive in the secondary market.
  3. Very nice details. I love how you made the triple trees to hold the front suspension and the rear chain guides. Great work.
  4. Nice work! I like the fenders on the tractor and the dolly wheels. When I make a MOC version of the 9397, I am planning to add an inline 6 motor if I can stuff it under the hood/bonnet.
  5. The new formula one car really looks like a nice model. I hope it has better panels to cover the switches because the back of the 8070 was terrible.
  6. Amazing MOC. The power is tremendous!
  7. I now know what happened to the supply of Red 5X11 technic panels on Bricklink. Great Work!
  8. I am surprised we haven't seen a studless version of the 8848 Power Truck. For the day, it was an amazing model with HOG steering and levers that worked the bed and scoop.

    REVIEW: 7346 Seaside House

I bought this set last week and I have to say from the initial thought, I thought the model was going to be much bigger considering the size of the box. I was very disappointed when I finished the build and is the primary model was much smaller than what I had anticipated. I also thought the lack of Lego furniture and amenities was disappointing as well considering the price of the kit. I also was shocked to discover that the set is not as sturdy as I would have hoped and building it was a challenge with the way the designers arranged the plates for the second floor of the house. I have built many models that were much more solid than this and I really expected more from a model that was designed for more advanced builders than the product that you see in the City line of products. Also, $50.00 USD seems a tad bit high considering what you get. But, if you were to purchase all the pieces individually on BrickLink, you could easily dump 20% more than what it was at my local Lego store so, I did the ultimate and (gasp) I bought a second Seaside House with the plans of making this set into a formal Seaside Condos with pieces that I have picked up elsewhere. Maybe sneering surfer dude can use some company and I am more than obliged to provide the design so that the formal beach condo units look nice. And that life presever will make for a nice toilet in one of the units. Pictures of the MOC will follow. Cheers!
  10. You have my vote. Great work!
  11. I have yet to build the 8043 Excavator, but when comparing the 8258 to the 8110 Unimog, the 8258 had a much better build quality and did not feel like it was going to break every time I touch it like the Unimog. Same goes for the 8070 Super which was a great model to build, but the final piece felt very flimsy and the battery box was not hidden behind nice panels like the 8258. So I only voted for the 8258 Crane Truck since it is the best of the flagships I have built. The only other larger model to be as solid is the 9395 Tow Truck without the PF additions.
  12. This was a great MOC at Brickfair. When I first saw it, I did not see the kid with the controllers and I thought you had programed it with sensors to flip the pinball on its own. Great work and I cannot wait to see version 2.

    No longer a lurker

Hello. After a visit to Brickfair 2012 and dusting off my Lego pieces that I have collected over the past 35 years, I figured I should move myself from the ranks of lurker to that of a member that participates. Look forward to talking to everyone in the forums. Gary

I have a lot of the studless Technic and some of the creator. I am more into the models the latest Gold Mine sets in the City theme have me thinking of a coal mining scene.

    Europe vs US

Lego got much closer with the Technic 9398 Crawler as it is priced at 169.00 Euro which is about $210.00. Considering tax in the US is paid at the time of sale, then the 199.99 becomes $212.00 in my state of Pennsylvania. The lucky folks down the road in Delaware don't have the add-on sales tax, but it would cost me more than $12.00 in fuel to drive to the closest store in Delaware to save that tax money. So all in all, it does seem to be getting better.

Modular Madness: London Row Houses - CR#3

I saw these today at BrickFair 2012 and the work is very nice. The colors really popped in person and the photos do not do them justice. Great Work!
