  1. Here's my final entry for the MINI contest. I just need to wait for the parts to arrive before building the physical model. Functions - Rear Suspension - Steering - Single Cylinder Engine P.S. The wheel arches will look won't have a gap once the model is built.
  2. So I thought I stick to what I know and create a wheeled vehicle, so here's my Trophy Truck so far. Features (so far) - Rear Suspension (Live axle?) - HOG steering, with working steering wheel in cab. These are the only two that I have so far, but hopefully, I'll be able to make it modular, and maybe add another feature. Here it is.
  3. I agree with this fully. What I like about the competitions with more limitations is the way that you're forced to think differently. This means that new types of creativity are pushed with these types of competitions. Just my views, and I'm glad that regular competitions are taking place!
  4. At long last I've managed to upload my entry to the competition, the Ultra Racer. I used Lego 42022 Hotrod containing 414 pieces. Features - 2 Speed gearbox (red lever) - Pendular front axle - HoG steering (yellow lever) with working steering wheel - 2 Cylinder engine - Adjustable rear wing(s) Thanks for looking!
  5. Thanks, it's a shame it finished last with no votes!
  6. Yeah I kn ow that design won't work, especially with the brakes an gearbox. I just thought it might be quite useful. I like the progress, and that hub-centred steering is really nice on such as small model.
  7. Here is a design I made a while back, but feel free to use any of the ideas on it. It has some fundamental flaws, such as the sidecar wheel being too far back. Plus I have never tested it at all, therefore it could all work terribly. Some inspiration hopefully though. P.S. Sorry for the slight hi-jack
  8. I LOVE THIS! I'm a great sidecar fan and have designed a number of different chassis on LDD. If you could get this to work I'd be extremely impressed!
  9. I've never seen this model before but I quite like the idea! However, I don't think there are any instructions for this model. Sorry to sound negative, but some people might get annoyed seeing a 3 year old thread being bumped.
  10. It's further up the page. It's this one... http://s1265.photobu...853572.mp4.html
  11. Don't worry about it. I'm glad you used the search function, it's more than a lot of people do. Just thought I'd give you a heads up.
  12. Yes, the 12 tooth bevel gears are used within the differentials these days instead of 14 tooth gears. This topic is 3 and a half years old so just try not to unnecessarily bump old topics.
  13. Why don't you just use a connector with to axles that add to make 11l, e.g. 5l and 6l, 9l and 2l. I like this model a lot. It adds a different side to competition.
  14. In that case, I would just make a working suspension system, then buy the grey, softer shocks if needed. You never know, once the car has the wight of a body it might be just right.
  15. The shock isn't only compressed, but it's bent The mounting point of the shock absorber is going to have to changed, probably moved up in order for this to work properly. I like the idea, just not the bent shock!
  16. That looks a lot better now. I really think that's made all the difference. Keep working on that boost mechanism and it'll be fantastic!
  17. Great idea, and I like what you've done so far. I would recommend covering the hole in the bed and the buggy motor by putting the box in place behind the cab. Also, I would try and make the role cage fit the cab slightly better just to neaten things off. If you want to go the extra mile, add small things like openable doors, that just enhance the model that little bit more. I really like what you've got so far though!
  18. Looks like a great start! Have you considered using one of Piterx's newer designs? They are smaller and have more accurate gear changes. Just a thought.
  19. I was thinking that the wheel caps should be grey. Although they look good in white, I think they are just a bit too bright. I love the car though!
  20. His Beetle and Split Van were both in it as one model. I don't agree with this list though, a lot of good MOCs were missed out, but the ones included definitely deserve to be there. It should have been a top 20 really. EDIT: Go there just before me D3K!
  21. Well done to all the winners, you all deserved the podium spots. Thoroughly disappointed with last place, I'll have to try harder next time.
  22. To me the Dawnbreaker was a clear winner, until I saw all the other entries. This would be one of if not the strongest contest we've ever had.
  23. The only voting pattern I've seen is no one voting for my entry!
  24. I really like that design Zblj however the one pictured looks more like double wishbone rather than macpherson. I'll see what I can come up with.
  25. What would an entry be without an LDD file? Here's the link.
