In the past month I grabbed 6210 Jabba's Sail Barge, 7113 Tusken Raider Encounter, 7139 Ewok Attack, and 7667 Imperial Dropship. Like I mentioned in another thread we recently bought a new house, so everything is boxed up, including these fantastic new sets.

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...
Chills replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's cool how close you got the ship to the scale of the ISD. I'm diggin' how your MOC is coming along. Just a couple of things to point out: The SSD is 11.875 ISD long. Second, the bridge/conning tower of the SSD is almost identical in size to the ISD; so you could use the bridge from the smaller ships in your large MOC. Keep up the good work! -
YES!! I'm glad I'm not the only one. My wife and I sold our townhome and we bought a new house. 4 bedrooms upstairs, an office on the first floor, and an unfinished basement. Ohhh the plans I have for my Legos! As soon as our offer on the new place was accepted my pro-active wife started packing, which meant so did I. Guess what was packed up first... yep, all my Legos. There are completely disassembled and boxed up in the garage. I even got some new sets recently, Jabba's sail barge and Tusken Raider encounter, and I didn't get to put them together. The worst is that once we move we'll have a lot of painting to do before we settle in. So I'm looking at mid to late August at the earliest to start building Legos again. Thank goodness for Brickset and Eurobricks!

"The Dark Ages" - How long were you away from Lego?
Chills replied to Duck's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I was really into LEGO since I was 4 (1980) until I was mid-high school (early 1990s). Then college, then the Army, and now I've been settled as a civilian for a number of years and I came out totally from the dark ages last Christmas. So close to 20 years of dark ages. Ouch, just thinking of all those awesome sets I've missed out on hurts. -
I mean the chute the victims slide down and the round steel grate/door in the wall that opens.

Wow, if I spent as much as some of your ballers my wife would kick my butt. She thinks I've spent too much already, but if she mentions my collection I remind her that she brought me out of the dark ages with the SSD over Christmas. ;) According to Brickset my collection is about $3,000. But, like others, I'm guessing its eBay value is more.

I'm a really big LEGO SW fan and usually give high marks to the sets. I'm not one to be nit-picky and negative about the designs, but I'm not thrilled with the Rancor's Pit. The minifigures and Rancor look really cool, kudos to Lego for them. But the pit itself is really lacking. It's just 4 columns and a portcullis. It doesn't have the "feel" of the actual pit. Lego could have had so much more here, like walls, the little alcove where Luke hides, and a trap-door for the victims to slide into the pit. That being said I really like the new Jabba's Palace, will be buying it and will likely be buying Rancor's Pit. I'll just MOC those items Lego should have put in the set in the first place.

Hi Everyone, I've been lurking for a few days and I'm really digging this site. I am a typical AFOL: I started out being a big KFOL in the 80s, had many Castle and Space sets, then in the 90s I went through the dark ages. When the first Star Wars sets came out in '99 I started to come back, but then dropped back into the dark ages until last Christmas. My wonder fiance (now my wife) got me the Executor and BAM! I'm totally hooked on LEGO again. I found Brickset, and making lists of what I own and what I want made the addiction worse. LOL. Right now I've pretty much caught up on all the sets in the 2000s that I want and I'm just waiting for the new ones to come out. I'm mainly a SW fan, but I dig the Creator and some Town sets. I'm just starting out with a MOC or two, and I must say some of the MOCs I've seen on this site are pretty impressive. Looking forward to sharing my addiction with people around the world!

Welcome to the board. I'm also recently out of the dark ages. It's pretty cool to see such a vibrant Lego community.

Wow, John that is an awesome MOC. I'm just coming out of my dark ages and it was 10221 that brought me back to Lego. I'm a HUGE fan of the Executor; I've been studying material about it since 1980 and have been building my own MOCs of it since I was a wee lad. I am impressed with 10221 and its one of my favorite sets, but I will admit that the first thought I had when I finished was, "Its not nearly wide enough." I was also not thrilled with the flat bottom. But I figured it was nice to have a big ship that wasn't held together by magnets and had hull-sag over time. Your MOC is amazing. I understand what you mean by having to compromise on shape/angles/lengths when building with Legos. But I think you've found a great balance. I will say I like your revised version with the shorter tail better than your original version. Fantastic work. I'm looking forward to seeing more in this thread.

Welcome! I'm new to the board, too. I just came out of the Dark Ages this last Christmas; like you I spend 20 years or so in them and now Star Wars brought me back to Lego.
