Customizing Bootlegs

agoodfella77, if I'm honest, I'm not sure. I acquired him from eBay, the company wasn't specified, however, he came with a Symbiont bomb build (similar to Venom's but lacking two tentacles), and had, if I'm remembering correctly, a strange leg connector, only two pieces of plastic either side to connect to the torso.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Collector's right, 17 is almost definitely a take on Hyperion's classic costume, same boots, belt to a degree, atomic symbol, and cape clasp on his right arm (the hair's wrong, however, it's nothing that can't be fixed). I'm not sure if I'm dreaming, that series is nothing short of stunning, every figure I've wanted in a series and then some. Any idea of a release date on these?

14. Hang on, unless I'm going crazy, these are unique, The torsos (except the doctor), common, but look at the heads. If I'm not mistaken, they're flesh, licensed coloured. Exo-force, Knights Kingdom, and City were all yellow, making at least two (the Exo-force and the knight's heads) unique.

Customizing Bootlegs

Not sure whether these count, but I've been buying the bootlegs and swapping various pieces out for Lego, an idea I borrowed from here (I believe from Robianco). Not sure weather it counts, but here's a picture of some of them: I've also modified other clones more thoroughly: An attempt at a classic War Machine (credit goes to a member here for the idea), Ultimate Wolverine, Emperor Stark (alternate reality Stark from the superb Exiles series, he clandestinely bribes and buys all the Super villains to kill all the heroes, unleashes plagues and viruses that brings Earth to it's knees, then takes over as it's "saviour" complete with Doom's hood), and my attempt at fixing Hawkeye. A better picture: I attempted to fix it by cutting it down with the only thing I have that would work, which was a craft knife, that proved too dangerous. I settled for a small amount of Blue Tack (like poster tack, for those outside the UK) inside the top of the mask, that does the job fine. Very impressive Vision above Borex, wouldn't have thought to use Hulk's torso, very clever. kid, I've seen people use a Chima helmet and the gold Chima armour with wings, while some have used Wolverine's mask.

Yellow or "fleshy"

Both. I'm happy with the mix they have now, licensed IP - flesh, everything else - Yellow. Besides, as someone who makes their own custom figures, it's great to have an extra skin colour - yellow - for people like Adam Warlock. I must admit that when I make figures from an IP that Lego hasn't acquired, or produced stuff for, I use yellow flesh, so they fit into my classic layouts (city, castle, pirates or space). It's also cheaper and easier than me searching for hours on Bricklink, Firestar, eBay etc for an appropriate head, when I have one already that's yellow.

Purist Superhero Figures

For anybody making a Judge Dredd figure, While I fully realise the helmet isn't purist (please ignore it), his shoulder armour is, and I'd thought I'd share the design. It's made using regular gold epaulettes, and a gold visor placed over said epaulettes. The helmet, and any helmet I believe, will hold the visor down due to it's wide base, pushing the head up just slightly (no more than the new life jackets or the medal pieces for instance), meaning it's fragile (unless you secure it). A big benefit of the design is that the gold visor comes just over the police badge, like how Dredd's classic badge connected via a chain to his armour. Skier1215, as others have said, fantastic Colossus! I'm also impressed by the way you've done Toad's legs, I've never seen anything like that attempted, but it certainly works well.

Bootleg Super Heroes minifigs - worth it or not?

Quick question, I've been away for awhile, but recently I've seen a Dr Doom variant, Black Bolt and a Days of Future Past Magneto, all clones (they all came with a huge brick built turret cannon). Any idea of availability on these?
21. Although I've read every image resizing topic I could find, I have absolutely no idea if this will work, it's kind of a test as I've got a lot of other customs to add to EB. Also the photos are a bit dodgy, I'm used to taking photos of 4.5 inch or 7 inch figures. With the disclaimer over, as you might know I'm a fan of Gerry Anderson's work. These are far from perfect, most will be decaled/painted at a later date. First, Spectrum agents, more to follow: Captain Scarlet If those above don't work, go to my Flickr page, I've posted a few others there as well: http://www.flickr.co...th/12929009563/ EDIT: Pictures aren't working, so I'll add links: Captain Scarlet http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Captain Blue http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Captain Ochre http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Captain Magenta http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Captain Grey http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Captain Brown http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Lt Green http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Colonel White http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Dr Fawn http://www.flickr.co...in/photostream/ Suggestions? MOC: Mini scale Babylon 5

"It was the dawn of the third age of mankind – ten years after the Earth-Minbari War. The Babylon Project was a dream given form. Its goal: to prevent another war by creating a place where humans and aliens could work out their differences peacefully. It's a port of call – home away from home – for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs, and wanderers. Humans and aliens wrapped in two million five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal… all alone in the night. It can be a dangerous place, but it's our last best hope for peace. This is the story of the last of the Babylon stations. The year is 2258. The name of the place is Babylon 5." Babylon 5 is one of my favourite shows of any genre, so while re-watching the show from start to finish, I knew I had to attempt something in Lego. While minifigures is more in the territory I usually work in (and I'm working on that), I attempted something I've never done before, a mini-scale, non minifigure sized ship, or station in this case. Here's a few more pictures: A side view. The way I constructed the habitat cylinder (the big grey and blue cylinder) means it can rotate, however, it's very delicate. And the base, with the B5 logo and a cradle to rest the station As this is my first go at making such a creation, I'd love any advice on how to improve it, particular the solar panels. Either way, I hope you like it!

Red Dwarf custom minifigures

I apologise for the very late reply, however, thanks for the comment Amset Ra and the sharing of your fantastic Dwarfers thewatchman! My personal favourites are your Rimmer and your Kryten, both are instantly recognisable, the shadow trooper body you used in particular for Kryten conveys the bulkiness of his body, very clever. I also love the legs and torso you used for Lister, very nice detail to include his sheriff badge by using a town body! My only suggestions would echo Amset Ra's, I would say, however, to use a clean shaven head for Lister, from memory he never had too much stubble, though I suspect that depends on the series.
24. I've been in a bit of a Lego community dark age, but I made these awhile back and I thought I'd photograph and post them! Red Dwarf is a Sci fi/comedy series set on the Jupiter mining corporation ship, Red Dwarf, with the crew consisting of Dave Lister, chicken soup technician, last human alive after being left in stasis for 3 million years (after a disaster aboard the ship that killed every human being), Arnold Rimmer, Dave's bunkmate resurrected by Holly, the computer, as a hologram to keep Dave company (at the start, at least), Cat, a descendent of the cat's originating from Dave's pregnant cat left outside stasis for the three million years, and Kryten, series 4000 mechanoid rescued from a downed starship, the Nova 5. Without further ado, pictures! Dave Lister (Not 100% sold on the head. Any suggestions are appreciated!) Arnold Rimmer Cat Kryten A group shot And an added bonus, if any fans are reading this: "Howdy doodly do. How's it going? I'm Talkie, Talkie Toaster, your chirpy breakfast companion. Talkie's the name, toasting's the game." "Anyone like any toast?"

What was the last movie you watched?

Watched Aliens for the first time in ten years and for the first time on DVD. Much better than I remembered, a superb film in my opinion.
