    Lucky LEGO finds

20 Alien Chitari from the Avengers for £8 at a comic store, mispriced as they had them for £10 each behind the counter. Also, was rather pleased with 3 SHEILD Cars for £18, a Malibu Mansion for £10.00, and a Helicarier playset for £9. Oh I how I love and hate eBay sometimes...

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like

Thanks, they arrived just after I made my post. I haven't watched them just yet, just waiting for my Girlfriend and some other Marvel fans to arrive, but upon looking at the back at the episode names that they at least sound good. I've been a fan of the Korvac Saga since I became a fan of Marvel, Operation Galactic storm was probably the best part of late Ninety’s Avengers although I don't see how it can fit in, being part of the Kree/Shi'ar war not the Kree/Skrull war, Galactus isn’t a giant Fart cloud like FF2 so that at least is a bonus, Acts Of Vengeance was fantastic in the comics, and I am a massive fan of the Marvel series Exiles, so Emperor Stark will be interesting to see as its highly unlikely they would include such a dark and alternative universe story in a Animated series. I'll report back when I've watched a few...

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like

Sorry to barge in, but I didn’t realise anything like this existed. I've just started to watch Avengers Assemble, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Hulk Agents Of Smash. I think, in order, Ultimate Spider-man is best at the moment, I absolutely hate some of the episodes, the kid like nature of the show, the cheap X Babies knock off throughout the program (and I HATE the X Babies), and the idiotic origin of the Rhino, with almost everybody with an ultimate Earth 1610 look, not my favourite to say the least, not that I don't like the Ultimates but I'd prefer the more classic costume's. However, there is something that the 90s Spidey lacked, loads of humour. In my mind, Spidey isn’t Spidey without a wisecrack or three in there, and I loved the Dr Doom/Captain America episode, Dr Doom's one of my favourite villains with Count Nafaria, Ultron, Kang and Magneto, so it was fantastic to see Doom brought alive as I missed completely the 90s FF Animated series. Never been a fan of any Hulk shows (with the exception of the feature length Planet Hulk), it was OK, and it was good to see Rick Jones, but it just wasn’t my thing. Avengers Assemble, well at least it was better than the 90s Armoured Avengers cartoon, but In no way a competitor to Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Now that was an animated series, and probably my favourite with Batman: The Animated Series. Avengers Assemble, the voice acting is terrible, the whole show is like a giant advertisement for the Avengers film, and the characters are completely of character. It would be like Dr Doom having the voice of a four year old girl. And worst of all, Hawkeye isn’t funny! But enough of my Fanboy ranting, this is a place to discuss are favourites, not to rant. Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes was just fantastic, I was really disappointed that they caned it. It had everything, classic 70's/80's costumes, Avengers Mansion not Stark Tower, characters that where faithful to the comics, humour, good animation, superb story lines interwoven with others...It was just unbelievably great. I've only seen Series 1, but I've Amazoned the rest (i.e. Series 2). I know its got the Kree/Skrull war, but is it any good? Thanks

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

The X Men will most likely be based on the 90s cartoon. I don't mind that to honest, as long as we get Colossus, Second genesis costumes sometime, and a non cat like Beast, so can use him in are Avengers. The only thing I'm disappointed with is that there’s no FF sets, I'm still holding out for a Doctor Doom castle with all the bells and whistles, including Doom Bots and a Time platform.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

The best way I can describe The Guardians of the Galaxy is this: The originals, although I don't know about the latest ones, was set 1000 years in the future on the USS Captain America, where a group of people from each of earth's colony's came together to repel the Badoon, a but ugly alien race who swarmed over Earth's solar system killing everyone. Their future diverged from ours (Earth 616, the main comic reality) when Earth was invaded in 2001 (I think) by the Martians, with most of the Major Super-humans and the Human race dead. Humanity rebuilt, but then the Badoon attacked and where defeated thanks to the Guardians and some help of from some current Superhero’s. Most of the Guardians missions revolved around things like finding the Mutants who had been driven of Earth, and then fighting their descendants, finding Captain America's shield that had been placed in space by Dr Doom and protected by Vision, dealing with a race that had used Iron Man's armour as a basis for they're civilisation with deadly results (The Stark), "the punisher squad", fighting with the Avengers in current times against a very powerful villain called Michael, or Korvac, meeting a future Ghost Rider, Wonder man, Firelord, Silver surfer and many others.. the list goes on. The current ones are set in our universe and our time I think, they are the ones in the film, and they battle some pretty powerful villains (If your interested its on Wikipedia, I won't put it here due to spoilers), and they are more mercenary’s than Adventurers if I understand correctly. I hope that helps Anyway, the sets, in better detail. I gotta say, I can't really add much more to what others have posted. I'm happy that we get Marvel and DC sets in the first place, let alone the selection we have, and will have. The Junior sets sound like a cheap way to get rid of spare parts, but who’s arguing? I don't mind getting a cheap Super Hero parts pack, I might even add red boots with some paint to Spidey if he is the same as the last few. DC sounds good as well. I like GL, any one to be honest, but Hal and John are my favourites and to get either would be good. I just hope Lego move away from the Batman stuff. I'm getting a little sick of these Bat Vehicles, it’ll get to the point where we'll have a Bat Buggy and a Flying chair. Don't get me wrong, I like Batman, but there’s so much they could do instead....

    Future Superhero Set Ideas

Here's some better, more detailed ideas due to my lack of time, last time: Kree Battlepack Includes 1 Ronan The Accuser 1 Kree Captain 2 Kree Soldiers Supreme Intelligence (Brick Built) Classic Skrull Battlepack 1 Classic FF Superskrull 3 Skrulls Some kind of Hover transportation pad and a some battlements Shi'ar Battlepack 1 Gladiator, leader of the Shi'ar imperial guard 3 Shi'ar Various weapons and battlements Avengers Mansion Modular building sized and detailed, with a equally big price tag. Huge, bottom floor consisting of a dining room, kitchen, lift, spare room, hallways, second and third floor consisting of bedrooms and a quinjet hanger. Minifig statue outside. Avengers HQ Attaches to the bottom of Avenger mansion like Jabba's Palace, three floors containing an operating theatre, a gym, cryogenic storage, main assembly room, firing range, arsenal chamber, computer room, lab and a battle training area. X mansion Similar to the mansion except that its a bit smaller, and that there is a huge swimming pool out the back that opens. X Men HQ The Same as the Avengers with the exception of cerebro and a blackbird hanger, but a different layout and all on one floor. Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Fantastic! Great news about the sets, looks like as others have said the Avengers sets will be a Thor and a Captain America set. Great news about the X-Men and Guardians Of The Galaxy sets as well, I'm more a Vance Astro/Nikki/Starhawk/Yondu/Martinex/Charlie-27 person, but that's what customization is for.

    Yet another Batcave MOC... (WIP)

Hi, I don't know weather this was by accident or intentional, but I get a very Batman the Animated Series feel, particularly in the workshop. This is just stunning, the detail, the incorporated sets, and that trophy room is just stunning. Good luck, I look forward to seeing more.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Exactly, how many of us would buy a CMF made up of Avengers or X Men or Alternative universe Heroes and villains (Ultimates, Exiles, Age Of Apocalypse, Future Imperfect, Marvel Zombies, Squadron Supreme, 2099, Days Of Future Past...) or maybe even a Series devoted to a particular popular hero, like Wolverine or Iron Man, or army builders, like SHEILD agents, Hydra Goons, Aim Goons, Mandroids, Guardsman, Kree, Classic Skrull's, or Shi'ar? Truth is, as others have said, there are literally hundreds of thousands of characters, not to mention the variants. It would also take pressure of the market, I mean, have you seen the prices of some Superhero minifigs compared to the sets? You can practically buy a loose Quinjet for £30-£40. And I have to admit, I spent £1,000 buying Marvel Legends, so I can only imagine what I'd spend on CMF. That's interesting about the comic con figs, one explanation on the topic of Spider-Woman is that she was based directly on the prototype, and that they would of improved her latter.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Personally, I'd like them to do Cap like the latest Darth Maul's horns, a rubber cap around the top with little rubber feathers sticking out ether side. On a side note, do you think with all this speculation about a Simpsons CMF series coming out that its possible Marvel might be in the running to do a series or more? I mean, I know there is some hostility to them doing licensed ones, but imagine the array of obscure characters they could put out...

    Comic-Con minifigures

I don't want to seem like I'm jumping on the band wagon here, or repeat what others have said, but I've gotta post my opinion. I have been a Marvel fan, and a DC one to a degree, since I was 6/7, and have somewhat near 15,000/20,000 comics under my stairs. I've bought nearly all the Lego Marvel sets since day 1. What really, really, p****s me of, as a Lego fan, as a Marvel fan, and as a DC fan, are these Exclusive figures. Look, I don't mind if Lego want to give away a gold Spider-man, or a silver Captain America, but what I do mind are when one offs, unique characters, people that are likely to never be made again cough:Spider-Woman cough:Phoenix I don't mind Lego doing something special, for those going, but it seems its like a slap in the face to those who invest money and time in the Marvel and DC line. So, in essence, DO exclusive figures, but not well known, popular characters, make them "unique repaints" in various colors or patterns. Nuff Said

    Purist Superhero Figures

I know what you mean, I don't know how much of a Marvel fan you are, but for me I got ideas from looking back at comics in my collection, seeing what would be feasible with the parts at my disposal, and having a look at a few Marvel encyclopedia’s I own. Maybe have a look around the internet at a character you like. And I know what you mean about time, I've got loads of project going on, let alone real life work, but some how I end up with my Minifig tool case out, trying to build another Hero or Villain. Good Luck though!

    Purist Superhero Figures

It took me ages to make up my mind on weather I would do yellow or flesh, with such a wide and diverse choice with yellow, and my choice of flesh limited to Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and some of the other license themes. But in the end I chose flesh, for the fact that you can "cheat", using yellow legs, hips, chests, hands and arms that would look stupid and somewhat strange with yellow heads, and they fit with the official releases. It is, of course, up to you, but sometimes the best way is the hard way. Anyway, amazing figures! I gotta say, I love the Ant Man and Yellow Jacket having just read Avengers Forever. And your use of the Series 5 Boxer Torso for Sentry and Luke Cage is ingenious, I might just have to use it for my Luke Cage. I look forward to more instalments of excellent customs from everyone here in the future.

    Future Superhero Set Ideas

Classic Avengers Quinjet, D2C Blackbird and Sentinel, cheap £15-£20 Sentinel with extra parts to turn one into Mastermold, Avengers Bus, Baxter Building, Avengers Mansion, Stark Tower, X Men Base (Danger Room, Control Room, Lab, Cerebro), and a Huge Death's/Thanos's palace from the Infinity Gauntlet saga And that's my ideas ATM.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Thanks Navy Trooper Fenson! That’s fantastic, looks like I'm going to be on a spending spree to get the Marvel sets from this year. And I know this of topic, but upon looking at the Tower of Orthanc, I'm betting now its a Blackbird, Truck load of X Men and a Sentinel. Oh, I understand that. But surely with the rivalry between the two, that Marvel having at least a passive say into what's made and what price points, that they might ask for a D2C set as DC have. Wishful thinking, I know.

What DC/Marvel Hero/Villain Do You Most Want To See Made In LEGO?

I've been a comic fan since I was 6 thanks to my Dad, who is also a comic fan, so this post is going to be extremely long and most of the ideas are probably rehashes, but this was a quick post. Classic Captain America (with wings attached like Darth Maul's horns) US Agent Classic Iron Man (Mark 3 or 4, with authentic roller-skates!) Classic Nick Fury Classic Beast Classic "Steve Ditko" Spiderman Thunderstrike Classic Thor Wasp (I'd prefer one of her costumes from the 70s or 80s) Giant Man Goliath Black Panther Korvac Thanos Ultron Past Pot Pete The Melter Zemo and the best line up of the Masters of evil (The line up that trashed the Avengers mansion would be great) Yellow Costume Wolverine Brown Costume Wolverine (My Favourite) Patch Days of Future Past Wolverine, Colossus, Storm, Shadow Cat, and Magneto Second Genesis X Men Line Up (Including Thunderbird) The Original, the classic, and the best line up of the Guardian’s Of the Galaxy (Before Vance became Major Victory) Hercules Scarlet Witch Quicksilver Captain Marvel Classic Vision Sentinels (at a cheap price, so you can Army build them) Bishop Cable Classic Purple Hawkeye Mockingbird Classic Black Widow the Original FF Gambit Dark Phoenix Miss Marvel (Both Original and Modern Costumes) Santa Doom from the What the X-Mas Special 1990 Rogue Mastermold Future "Human" Sentinals The Original Exiles (Morph, Thunderbird, Blink, and Mimic in particular, but AoA Sabertooth, Spidey 2099, Longshot, Heather, Sunfire, or any other 01-06 lineu p would be great) Sabertooth Proteus She Hulk Warriors Three The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants (Any Combination, although I would prefer a classic line up) Earth Namour The Watcher Galactus The Infinity Gauntlet (as an accessory) Silver Surfer Dr Strange Power Man (AKA Luke Cage) Moon Knight Earth 2149 Zombies (AKA Marvel Zombies, not my thing but from all this Zombie hype recently it would be popular) Falcon Sentry Black Knight Black Knight (the Bad Guy) Brown Costume Wolverine Days Of Future Past Wolverine and any other X Men from that timeline Maestro and Old Rick from the Hulk comic, Future Imperfect (Wouldn’t the Souvenir Room be great as a set?) Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Any news on Marvel stuff, like the X Men sets? IMO, I don't think Marvel could let DC do a £130 set without themselves doing the same thing, so I'm hoping for a Blackbird, Baxter Building, Avengers Mansion, Danger Room etc. And where was the Ultimate Green Goblin confirmed?

    Is Lego only for kids?

I get a lot of stick from people at shops like "Your (insert age) and your buying Lego?!", and from some of my friends, and I used to care, but now I just think Smeg it, and say to those people "Yes, I am. Have you got a problem with that? Its for all ages, weather your 8 or 80. Google Lego modular buildings or Lego Imperial Flagship and You will see what I mean". By then, I've either got Security men wrestling me out of the shop or I've got one very embarrassed shop worker. But on a serious note, just ignore those who mock you over your hobby. Every night I build with my Girlfriend, and we then almost always end up playing with my Pirates or Knights or Superhero’s. Its just another hobby. And my Mom, after my Grandmother said that I was to old for Lego when I was younger said something that has stuck with me for years, Your never too old for Lego, no matter what somebody says.

How do I confess to my wife I'm an AFOL?

I got my Girlfriend hooked by doing two things: Buying all the Marvel sets and letting her build them (we're both Marvel comic fan's and she loves the mini fig's of Iron Man, being her favourite hero) Letting her help me build and sharing the hobby with her, customizing mini figs, building cars, furnishing Creator Houses, having huge Police Chases and smashing up my City over a bottle of wine etc. Please let us all know how it went, and good luck.

Which 'Space' theme should LEGO revive?

Hi, Personally, Classic Space, Blacktron, and Space Police, although I would like some M-Tron Miners for Blacktron to Terrorize. I love Blacktron (And even Blacktron 2, if give them big guns and other cool, dangerous equipment), and they would be the perfect villains. After CMF Series 11's Evil Mech with BT1 Logo, Series 3's Cyborg with the BT2 logo and the green guy from SP3, I am thoroughly convinced Lego could do a good job on Blacktron. And its possible we will get another in CM Series 12 Lego Movie Series. SP, well, you need good guys to fight the bad guys and to keep the peace, and Classic Space, who wouldn’t want the Spaceman from CMF Series 1 in red, Black, normal blue and yellow? I'd prefer that they'd do it like Star Trek, i.e. lets talk and resolve are differences (with phasers and photon Torpedoes on standby) than Lets kill all the aliens! And as someone else has done this, this is how my Space universe works, and of course, no copyright infringement intended to the many I P’s that I've got in there. Classic Space and Futuron are "Starfleet", on a mission to seek out new life and new civilisations, with Ice Planet a group of Scientists on a barren Class L world. Blacktron, the villains, keep a low profile in the shadows. Space police are the SHEILD of my space universe, going after the villains and locking them up, protecting colonists and civilians, and pulling people out of time like Johnny Thunder and Agent Chase to work for them. M-Tron are a haulage/Mining company in a dangerous rivalry with the Power Miners who are in turn rivals of the Rock Raiders. The ADU are long gone, protecting Legoland from alien threats hundreds of years ago. Galaxy Squad are SPECTRUM, a special Marine Like group protecting research bases for Starfleet. The aliens from Alien Conquest are The Dominion, from a distant part of the galaxy who are extremely dangerous and powerful. Spyrus, well, spy, and the Aliens from Galaxy Squad are the Xindi, mysterious aliens who everyone except Blacktron has had no contact with. Anybody I left out I use as Civilians or small groups of aliens (like UFO) or I haven’t got any of them (Like Roboforce or Exploriens). And that, I think, is the most of topic post I've ever wrote.

    Purist Superhero Figures

Sorry if these have been posted before, because I've only read up to page 12. I've been a comics fan since I was four, and when I came out of hospital after a major operation last year I set about taking my mind of my things by making custom superheroes. Anyway, most of them I made using hand made stickers (the horror ), but a few are purist. I don't have pictures due to my shoddy camera, but I can describe then. Thunderstrike Thor's or http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3626bpb035 head, Blonde ponytail, Indiana Jones body, Flesh arms, Black Legs. I'm still working on the hammer. Morph (From Exiles) CM Series two Mime heads (all three, for his array of expressions), Dark blue legs and arms, and standard yellow hands, hips, torso and cape. I've got a few more but their in my Avengers mansion/base ATM, and I'll post them later I hope, but has anyone had a go at US Agent, Vance Astro, Thanos, Zemo or Korvac? Thanks for the fantastic ideas, my Avengers and X Men have just got bigger, thank you.

2014 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

100% agree. As a young AFOL, I wholly agree with you, when I was younger I just resorted to buying 42X42 grey baseplates and adding White tiles for the roads in my city, and its almost like their teasing me with their huge skyscrapers or Factory’s and Skyscrapers on the instruction sheets. It just makes me sad. And the way that they had the Road signs, the plates, the trees to add more and more to your city during town, like the old Micromachines in some aspect. Nowadays, don't get me wrong, the sets are fantastic, but I'm not a millionaire and even I struggle buying plates, so I can only imagine a small kid's frustration when he can't even afford the road to connect his Fire Station and Police Station together. And that’s another thing that I hate about city, what happened to small, affordable shops or buildings at the £15-£20 price? Anyway, on Topic. On one hand, I am really looking forward to some of the sets, but half of the reason why I went into my dark age recently was because of the emphasis on Police. I'll save judgement till I see some half decent pictures.

I'm Leaving! I'm Coming Back! Do it all HERE.

Ralph_S, Im sorry to here you leave. You have been a great asset to the EB community, and am sorry I never got the chance to know you better. I, however, am back. After spending £450 on Star Trek action figures (I could'nt help, there so cheap now!) Im back on EB and with a better camera. I've had a go at stop motion, and "may" do a few reviews. Thanks.

    WIP#02 - LEGO Metropolis Project

Looks great so far, I'm in the middle of a major revam of my city, and you have given me some great ideas. I might try drawing my ideas first aswell, could never figure out how to use LDD. Of topic,I notice your a trekie (or treker) with that wonderful blueprint of the D. Im working on some scaled replicas of the varoius Bridge modules at the moment, I've had to buy a 42X42 baseplate just to do Picards Bridge. Good luck and I look forward to seeing updates.
  25. Before I start, MODs please lock this if theres another topic like it. Also, if theres not, could you add a poll please. Basicaly, out of all the offical pirate ship sets from all four themes so far, (the classics, the 4plus line, the 09-10 line, POTC) whats the one you want the most and why? Is it the figures, the ship itself, the play features, the cannons, the working rudder? I'll get the ball rolling and say the QAR. At the moment, I don't have the money to buy a SES and already have the BSB and 2010 IF, and the QAR is most likely to phase out soon after the reductions on it in the UK. The Mini- figs and the wonderful dark red sails also put it at the top of my list. So thats it from me, but whats yours? EDIT: Sorry about the title, damn useless phone.
