As I said, pretty pathetic, but, how would the Star Wars fans feel if their was a huge error in a Star Wars set? Like Mace with a pink lightsaber? It's hard to explain, particularly as I'm a bias Marvel geek and its hard to compare to anything else, but it's an integral part of the character. I know, its just a toy, but we've got to talk about something, haven't we?

Avengers VS JLA, George Perez artwork, a great series if anybody's interested, much, much better than the earlier Marvel VS DC stuff. Superman lifted the hammer too, however, that was while Odin had lifted the enchantment of the hammer. It's confirmed (kind of) that they are two separate reality's during this.

Agreed, I see them as the equivalent of a Shuttle or Runabout from Star Trek, not a long distance ride. What I meant, and I feel like an idiot for not putting in the topic, is the overall length, although anything else, like enclosed space or the air tightness, would be good to know. I've got loads of medium sized ships, from the 918 to the Rebel Hunter to the Allied Avenger, but I'd never got anything bigger, till yesterday when the Galactic Enforcer arrived. Having seen the diverse selection, in particular the Classic Space and other Space Police flagships, I was wondering about the overall size of them in comparison to each other, in case I buy any in the future, and for other people, as I'm sure some one else would like to know.

Not to start a riot or whatnot, but Im a brickmaster is right, and rakky to a degree. It has been said that Thor's Hammer returns to him, when he whispers Mjolnir's "secret" name, as an alternative reality Rick Jones once put it. However, as rakky says, there are many times when he has been separated from the Hammer, and has not used it to escape. But then again, that's comics for you. I was going to post about this, and I know this sounds so pathetic perhaps to some, but that is just plain stupid to have the Hammer being held in that contraption. A very few select individuals can lift the Hammer (Cap, Storm, Beta Ray Bill, Odin, and Wonder Woman come to mind), and the enchantment can be lifted, but only by Odin. How the hell can MODOK or Taskmaster lift it? It annoys me, they don't manage to screw up continuity wise on the Star Wars sets, or the LOTR sets for the most part, why mess up Marvel?

I don't. In all seriousness, I try to follow Chief O'Brien's advice on searching for engineering spares, from Star Trek DS9: "Must haves, could use, and would be nice". That went out the window this month, however, I usually look up a few sets I want on eBay that are EOLed, see if Amazon has any sets on a discount, or any other deals. The only exceptions are when a set I really want, i.e. a new Marvel set or an exclusive, are released, or anything from a Charity shop (Aka a thrift shop) for a reasonable price. Where do I put it all? Where the dining room used to be, now home to a thriving population of miniature yellow people.

Oh, wow, thanks just2good, bringer of great Lego news, I didn't realise that the dark red shield was getting re-done. Trust me on this, that's a different colour, and the best part is it's more comic accurate. Bring on the X-Men!

80s-something Space Guy poster with Space Ship
Dr Leg O Brick replied to danth's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Fantastic! Just getting back into space, and finally completed my little Jelly Bean troop by getting the quite surprising yellow astronaut. Great to see this possible revamp, even if the set were expensive I'd buy a few. As for the simulated damage, why not have him as a battle damaged astronaut, making his way back to the Inter-Galactic Command Base after falling down a pit or getting caught in a rock slide? -
Starting out. How do I explain being an AFOL to other adults?
Dr Leg O Brick replied to LukeWarmTea's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, my close friends where a bit lacking in the "infinite diversity in infinite combinations" department, until I did two things: Showed them my Indiana Jones and Marvel/DC sets. Their massive fans of comics, plus Indy and most Sci-fi, my certain other got hooked on Lego via me showing her stuff made out of Lego she likes, and I had a guess it would work on them. A few weeks later and all but one of them had a Quinjet and at least one Batman set. The last one, who was quite adamant I was a idiot, I told an (edited) quote of one of my favourite singers, originally on Alcohol, but with a few words edited: "I feel sorry for the people who aren’t Lego fans. When you wake up in the morning, that’s as good as your going to feel all day". -
Really happy with some things while I'm extremely disappointed with others. Great to see a purple pants Hulk, Taskmaster, classic Doc Ock, Red Skull, Hydra goon, new Cap, Powerman and that damn brilliant Hydra tank, I'll be buying a few of those. However, I am extremely disappointed about (the lack of) Thor's Helmet, Falcons wings, the cruddy electrical spark, second rate Hulk and the slightly multi coloured van. Other than that, this looks like a good year for Marvel.

Should Lego sets have the designer's names printed on them?
Dr Leg O Brick replied to TeufelHund's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Too my knowledge Kinggregus, and I'm sure some other person will add or correct this in a latter post, the Lego City designers initials are on the Registration/Licence plates, on the Space Police 3 and Alien Conquest sets the Graffiti and ship specifications respectively have again the initials, and I'm told that the Ninjago and Exo-Force have a similar thing again. However, I don't/didn't collect the last few, and I sure there are others. You could perhaps cheat, as some designers have added Bricklists on Brickset, such as these: http://www.brickset.com/brickLists/?7613 http://www.brickset.com/brickLists/?5289 -
I had a Birthday a month ago, so not exactly in one day, and I just came out of a dark age, hence why I went on a spending spree. How can one be so broke yet be so happy?

Should Lego sets have the designer's names printed on them?
Dr Leg O Brick replied to TeufelHund's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Its a good idea, however, a toy/collector line I collected (Art Asylum Star Trek) stopped printing the names of the designers, after a company change admittedly, due to the fact that so many were involved in designing the action figure. Sure, they're action figures, and its a different set of circumstances, but if Lego where to do it, perhaps they would run into the same problem. I'd love it, particularly as others have mentioned in regards to D2C sets, and all sets in general, I just think perhaps rather than a page or three in the back of the manual, perhaps as mentioned an Easter egg route, such as the City and Space Police 3 sets, are best at the moment. Maybe a web link to a page or even mini-site on Lego.com? -

Not buying any Space Police 3, 09 Pirates, Batman, more Indiana Jones, Kingdoms, and Fantasy Era. I can still remember seeing some of the early Batman sets and later Indiana Jones TOD sets at half price in Forbidden Planet, thinking that I'd get them on eBay later, or even in the case of Batman not giving a damn. I still kick myself over that...

Sorry to dig this up, but I have a few to add: Clint Eastwood-S1 Cowboy Sherlock Holmes-S5 Detective If you remove the hat, the Cop from S8 and added black hair, to me he looks like the T-1000 pre Motorcycle uniform from Terminator 2, aka Robert Patrick David Beckham-S4 Football, “Soccer” player Dr Jackal/Mr Hyde-S10 Mr Good And Evil While not resembling the character, the S7 Black Knight has the same Boar symbol as the Monty Python And The Holly Grail Black Knight There are a few more, but those where the ones that immediately came to mind

I like to believe that Castle/Pirates/City/Town/Space all take place in the same universe, along with perhaps Adventurer's, Dino, Alien Conquest etc. However, Fabuland, BIONICLE, Technic, Jake Stone, Chima, Ninjago etc are all separate pocket universes/planets, Perhaps the council Chambers in the Trailers is the nexus of all Lego Reality?

That looks great! Love the architecture around the top, finally a bucket for ammunition, and finally they're using the "Brick-Bricks" for the crenulations, it really does add something. At last Lego seem to be listening, here's hoping for another wave!

The description for the Castle set from the Lego Movie sets, from the Lego Movie products page. "Keep a look-out for Lord Business’ robots from the castle tower with the soldiers and knights. Get the crossbow ready and prepare the mobile catapult on the ground. If you see the Micro Manager trying to grab the civilians, use your creative skills to convert the castle into an armored Castle Cavalry. Take off and target the speedy, clawing menace with the crossbow, cannon, catapults and flame flick missiles. Includes 3 minifigures: the knight, Sir Stackabrick; the soldier, Gallant Guard; and Where Are My Pants? actress, Sharon Shoehorn." Doctor Who, Torchwood, Sarah Jane Adventures...
Dr Leg O Brick replied to The Kid's topic in Culture & Multimedia
AyliffeMakit, that explains her reaction in Tooth and Claw perhaps? I haven't watched any Who for ages, started watching Matt Smith, but never seemed to like it. Still, I'm going to tune in tomorrow night. Anyone seen "An adventure in time and space"? I thought It was fantastic, and the ending really was moving, if you've seen it you'll know what I mean. And was I shocked about the 8th Doctor mini episode, I thought it was just one of them audio ventures, it really sets it up for again tomorrow night. -
Damn, I like to be proven wrong. Them Marvel set descriptions are fantastic, in particular the Hydra one. I thought it'd be $40, not $20 that was mentioned some pages back, and knowing Lego it'll be £20, and for Red Skull, a Hydra goon and a new Cap that's a bargain. I'll probably buy 3-5. My attention has now moved away from DC, and on to Marvel completely. I'm not as interested in DC anymore, I was holding out hope like the rest of us that the Steamroller was going to be good, and that's gone out of the window, meaning that it will be just the £10 set for me. However, I don't care about the price or even the actual set, I'll be getting the AIM lab no matter what for Falcon, Taskmaster and Thor, couldn't really care less about MODOK or Hulk, but still at least it's non movie based. After that, the Doc Ock and Electro sets, and then ebay Powerman. Bring on the X Men and GOTG!

I think as many have noted, Lego really have done some simply fantastic factions, they all have their pros and cons, their castles, parts, colours, figures etc. I shamefully forgot about the Forestmen in choosing The Black Falcons, so I'd have to say the Forestmen would come second, I hardly have any but the ones I do have I love. Just some wonderfully executed designs with them, as well as their forestly domains.
