    REVIEW: 70801 Melting Room

This look's great! First thing I thought when I viewed the set, much like another members comment about it's versatility, was "That'd be great for a Superheroes AIM lab to cut Iron Man out of his suit". Sure, I'm not going to lie, the Mini figs look great and play a large part in me buying the set. With the increase in price of the CMF's I'm likely not to buy any of them, and I'll wait for Amazon discount's for most of the line , so this will get me the two main Characters for cheap, and a useful set. Great reviews Clone O'Patra!

    What did you buy today?

This particular lot was from the British heart foundation. I've got some from Charity Shops over the years, but it's extremely uncommon, I'm lucky because my local area is in great decline, your lucky if a shop lasts longer than a week. The only shops that flourish are Charity shops, or large chain stores, such as CEX and Tesco. You get sick so quick of the "you just missed a whole lot with every damn thing you wanted" and the "we never get any in" but sometimes, on the very rare occasions, you find a gem or two. There's lull's as well, like between last December and October, I found one lot. Between October and now, I've found four. You never know your luck, and it's always a gamble. Now for something more on topic, I bought 7891 Airport Fire Truck to go with Century Skyway.

Fantastic reviews, Clone O'Patra! Quick question with all these mysterious bits on the Micro Managers. Do they combine, like a Power Rangers Megazoid?

    Ninjago 2014

Couple of things. I don't know if it's known, however, the bios are on Lego.com, explaining a few things. http://www.lego.com/en-us/ninjago/characters/rebooted And another, although this perhaps needs to be put in another topic, how their are similarity's with Star Trek The Next Generation, in two ways. How the villain's are named, "Borg Industry's" (Yes, I know, Borg from Cyborg, but still they are vaguely similarly, emotionless for the most part cyborgs) and how the good guys leader has been converted into a bad guy, via cyborg implants by the looks of it.

    What did you buy today?

Bought a large mixed lot, mainly for a wreaked Airplane and some plain green baseplates. Turns out I've got a 99% complete (Sans baseplates) 6597 Century Skyway, a 70%ish complete 4768 the durmstrang ship, a 50% complete 7467 ISS and a load of late 90's town sets. Not too bad for £15.

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

Don't want to get involved at all in this, but I think why some people (at least me) are annoyed is that we expect more from Lego. Particularly in recent years, in all themes, in all aspects, Ideas, Minifig quality, printing. Sure, we could fix them, but why should we? When I buy a £30.00 set, I expect Flash, an A-list Superhero character, to have boots. £10 no, £20 maybe, but £30? And a licensed set? Seriously. All kid's are different. I, and my friends and any kids I know like a few vehicles, but more over bases/buildings. Sure the FF are nothing without the fantasticar, but then again the FF are nothing without the Baxter Building/Four Freedoms Plaza. I always wanted something to smash when I was a kid, something for Dr Doom to smash Iron Man into. I'm fine with affordable vehicles, just quit the stupid ridiculous Spiderman Helicopters.

    Ideas for New Action Themes

Something like Marvel's series Exiles or the Avengers , characters from all Lego's Action Themes (Alpha Team, Rock Raiders, Power Miners, Adventurers, Ninjago, Atlantis, Pharaohs Quest, Dino, Atlantis etc) repairing damage to the timeline/multiverse, done by a common foe/group of villains (Ogel, Sam Sinister, Time Twisters, Amset-Ra etc)

    What I got for Christmas

I got 76007 Malibu Mansion Attack from my parents, 76006 Marvel Extremis sea port battle and 70700 Space Swarmer from my Girlfriend, along with a ton of other stuff, Graphic novels and books, along with two action figures. Overall, a good year, a very good year... P.S I now your pain JM1971, I've been getting that Action Man playset for many year's as well. You'd think with all the truck's and enough weaponry to arm a small country, Action Man would be more inclined to stick around...

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion

Remember Lego did put real Lego in Happy Meal's, not plastic fakes, in 1999. It was a series of sets, here's a link to one of them: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=2719-1 Brickset say's they where only available in Germany, however, I've got most of these "sets" through people who got them in the UK. I hope we get polybags, but nowadays knowing Mac Donald's it will be cheap, cruddy, gimmicky, nonsense rubbish they usually put in them.
  10. Merry Christmas to all! And a great , funny picture too. That alien conquest head's hilarious, its just the poor elf's look of extreme horror at the site of Hulk about to rip him to bits, makes me laugh every time I look at it, you've got to smile at double sided heads. Again, happy Christmas to all EBer's, have a good Christmas!

    LEGO Plan for 2014

Stay away from eBay, Amazon, or any other place that sells Lego for a month Sort my collection and parts (Now that sounds familiar...) and get everything in order, and invest in three new tables for my recent influx of Space and Castle Figure out where I'm supposed to put 6597 Century Skyway in my city I wonder if any of them will come to pass, I think not unfortunately. I'll end up with another load of sets before February, still have the looming prospect of 50,000 unsorted parts, still have the Space and Castle sets sitting on makeshift tables, and Century Skyway next to them.

    What did you buy today?

4434 Dump truck, the Second Ninjago brickmaster book, and 60053 Race Car, my first 2014 set. My new years resolution is to stay away from anywhere that sells Lego...

2014 City Sets - Rumours and Discussion

Just went into Birmingham City centre, UK. I went to WHS, and they had six of the monster truck, and one of the Police bike, Prison Van, and Race Car. I bought the Race Car, no pictures as I don't have a usable camera, and I've just built it. It's fantastic, it cost £7.99, knowing WHS its a £1 mark-up. Item number on the bottom of the box is 6056695.

The LEGO Movie Sets News and Discussion

Thing is, you can get stuff from there, but it is cheating Lego out of stuff. There was talk of some kind of restriction or even cancelation of the service (don't quote me on that, I'm not sure where I read it) due to people using it to effectively get exclusive parts/minifigs in large quantity's and sell them on for twice the price. As for weather its excepted, I've seen both sides of the argument, cheat Bricklink and the after market from charging stupid money for stuff you want and get a good deal, or that your cheating the Lego company out of money and possibly put a good service out of action for people who need it.

What do you do with your Lego?

Well, I tend to display it for my own enjoyment and relaxation, although very few see it. I rarely break it down, but I tend to modify and change a set, even while I build it occasionally. Sometimes for a laugh I might make a Brick-film or comic, but usually just show it to my friends. I never let my crazy younger cousins near it. What I end up doing unintentionally, I hope, is play with it. Police chases, shoot-outs, space-ship crashes/dog fights, construction site massacres accidents, canon battles, Super-Hero fights, you name it etc.

    Your favorite TV show(s)

All Star Trek, in particular the Original Series and DS9, the later tends to get a bad press but for me is the best. Also some other Sci-fi, such as Red Dwarf, sitcoms such as The Big Bang Theory, Frasier and Cheers, animated series such as Batman: The animated series and Avengers Earths Mightiest Heroes, almost all Gerry Anderson productions and The Frank Sinatra show rank among my favourites. Problem is I watch too much TV, hence I have too many favourites. Damn you 900+ channels!

    What did you buy today?

And the last of my haul has arrived just in time for Christmas, 1704 {unnamed} or as Peeron likes to call it, "Ice Planet Snow Grader", much more catchy don't you think? Available only in the US, I got one of eBay UK for I think a reasonable price. It's such a shame it was never available else where, the detachable weather control monitor station (akin to other sets in the range), the near exclusive Ice Planet printed blade at the front, and the usability and quality of the vehicle, particularly on an Arctic planet, astonishes me that this never achieved a more wider launch than it got.

    Hello all!

Great to see a familiar face! Welcome aboard, as they say.

    What did you buy today?

Ah, I've been sniping on eBay for some of those, and got one from a Charity Shop (or a Thrift store as people In the US call it). I live in Britain, and particularly around Christmas some real rare stuff has been listed on eBay and gone for practically nothing. Sometimes you've got to be in the right place at the right time, if you don't mind a gamble and the possibility of missing or substituted pieces, of course.

    Lego: Space - The Comic

Sorry about that, I got confused. Looking back, I can see I misinterpreted the message, I thought you where referring to a completely new series, not commenting about my comment in relation to a new comic being posted and being disappointed in that their wasn't a new comic. Sorry about the confusion.

Who you're thinking of is a different guy called Captain Settle, whom lives in the UK, hence his is called "A Brickish Space Comic". I wanted to post here because the other guy is well, a different person.

    Lego: Space - The Comic

Hi, I know I'm going to get hung, draw, and quartered by the Mods for this, but I wanted to dig this up, to post in this topic, to ask if you, K-Dog, are all right, and haven't got caught in a quantum singularity-death by phaser fire-time loop-dimension hoping contraption-something or another? In all serious though, I know I could of PM'ed you, as the phrase goes (if your still around that is), but I felt that perhaps, I hope, their are others who are fans of your comic, who'd like to know what's going on. I fully understand that perhaps real life has taken over, or you've gone into a dark age, and that most likely your EB account is inactive, but I do hope for what its worth that your reading this. I won't lie, I didn't start reading you comic till around issue 100, and stopped due to my own dark age at around 300, however, I've spent a week reading from 1 to the The Search part 14. I'd love to know what happens, weather these Aliens with their bootleg decrepit fakes will really attack , or weather Jenny is Schwartz's Grand-daughter for sure, or weather Captain Dash, o'll vacant eye sockets, will make a return. I've tried to keep it short, thought for me that's impossible, but to sum up, you all right? From your avid reader and space fan,

Super Heroes 2014 Rumors & Discussion

I do agree with you there, Clone O'Patra. They can give Cap's shield mold to LOTR and the CMF's, but not Taskmaster, a fig who genuinely needs the mold, as it's meant to emulate the original? I don't want to sound like a nerdy fanboy over Thor, but its stuff like that does annoy me, it's just such a simple thing, sure I can fix it but still, it gets under my skin.
