Oh. Thanks for noticing that! -
Cool!

Location: E02 - Jurin II Tags: civil, vehicle, land/water vehicle Terrain: Spaceship Interior Start of transmission #06. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Security camera footage on the medical frigate above Jurin II. Location: cargo bay, port side. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - "Who do you have here?" - "Identity unknown, sir! We have found him on New California last week. The nearest medical ship was on Jurin II, so we brought him here." - "What's the status?" - "We were able to stabilize him, but can not say more. He was heavily wounded by a strange cactus-like creature. Hope you have more info on him from other Octan explorers". - "The data suggests that we put him into surgery immediately. I strongly recommend to do so and deal with the identity later on." - "We'll take him from here. Await here for a few minutes and the medical transport shall arrive." - "Pick this one up and transfer him to the Medical Bay #07." -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of transmission #06.

Very cool build. Like the representation of alien life. A side-note, though: please check the sector. I believe, Kawastita cartographers could have given you the wrong coordinates. (upd.: resolved)

There's a huge possible problem with these tags system + bonuses. I can imagine a build with a small and simple boat, small and simple spaceship and, say, an awesome ground structure - and all this is presented as a story... with possibly separate picture for every part. If one would judge the parts separately - they would not qualify for more than "2" for vehicles, and the structure is "5+" - and the whole MOC is also graded "5", but + all the bonuses for vehicles. All this may inspire a player to put a simple 4-wheeled-and-a-plate vehicle on one of the pics, and this would qualify fr a bonus. The main question here is: how the "main focus of the MOC" is assessed in case of story-type MOT with multiple pictures of different stuff? upd: I rephrased the text a bit.

Thanks again, Bob. But one more thing... Yo moved the build's scores to H08, but the Octan resources still account 60W for this build (should be 60A).
-
Thanks! The DP bonus should anyway not affect any planet domination statuses this week.
-
@Bob - please check DPs on H08, it seems that Jacques LaRose's build was counted as being on H09 instead of H08. And one more... it seems that +1 domination point was awarded for spaceships instead of land vehicles. And should be opposite.

Open channel message #012 to Octan Corporation. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I would like to transfer 50 credits to Bob of Quatrian. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of message #012.

Are you sure? Checked Dr.Long's story so far - nothing similar yet. Or do you mean the WIP pics?
-
Really like this jungle island, it combines lots of different techniques for flora. Certainly have to try this terrain sometimes. Keep up the good builds!
-
...edited my previous transfer request. 110 credits is the correct sum. Also: @Bob - it seems that +200/+100/+100 resource bonus is not added to Octan totals in the first post.

Open channel message #011 to Octan Corporation. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- I would like to transfer 110 credits to Bob of Quatrian. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of message #011. There was an error initially.. and 120 credits were not correct.

Location: G03 - New California Tags: civil, exploration Terrain: Desert Start of transmission #05. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- ... seems the the cactus had finally found the trail. All this will end soon... very soon... The attack came out of nowhere. Only a second ago it was all peaceful and quiet, and suddenly this strange green creature, which i thought was simply a cactus, attacked me. It was even able to bite through the industry-grade spacesuit. I was barely able to escape this and kill the beast. But it seems that the night is coming close, and there are lot more of these strange creatures coming cor me then. The bloody trail is too good for them to miss. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of transmission #05. The build:

Start of automatic transmission #01 from probe exploring Arium Major. Initial recipient of the message, Octan Corporation explorer Wick Nole, did not provide the confirmation on receiving this message for five standard days. In this case, according to standard Octan Exploration Protocol, the message is transmitted via unsecured channel on open frequencies. In case you are receiving this message, please forward it to planet Farmolis, AG sector H06. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- The probe had prepared first pictures from Arium Major. Flora is abundant here and fauna is reach. Thick air allowed for evolution of probably one of the largest flying creatures in southern sector of Andromeda. The probe was able to capture one of these on top of the huge tree. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- End of automatic transmission #01. The build:

Thanks. That's my first attempt on anything that moves.

Amazing!

Jody, please check the size of the build. It feels that the base is larger that 24*24 studs, which is the limit for this challenge.
-
We did it! First two interplanetary Octan Defense Force ships were commissioned on our new homeland on Farmolis this week. They have proceeded to the nearby asteroid belt with the first training assignment being currently prepared. As soon as the CEO officially announces completion of the research on new spacefleet tactics, we'll initiate the "Space combat" training exercises. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- On the day after... The research is officially finalized and announced. The Octan Defense Force ships are now to proceed towards the training zone where they have to find and destroy decoy drones.

[O - TECH] Space combat training exercises have begun.

The main difference in our discussion is the definition of espionage itself and whether "intelligence" and "spying" are to be distinguished or not. I'm totally fine with if your approach is similar to the judges' approach on the matter. My personal opinion is that such broad definition of "spying" activities makes builds and stories much easier to "fit" into the description. And, after all, the comments to the builds are for expressing the opinions and making suggestions while the build is officially a WIP. Comment given, comment rejected.

For the sake of mutual interest to the question, I think i should continue. 1. Koro is recovering Kawashita's own drone data from unclaimed planet. Furthermore, there were yet no activity in the sector other than Kawashita's. 2. If there's no Octan or M.A.N.T.I.S. activities in the sector - and the probe was gathering intel from the unoccupied world - that's "intelligence", not "espionage". 3. Bob listed an exact example of "spy action" being "espionage" (i.e., gathering data on other corporation, in any way possible). 4. In addition - recovering own intelligence data is not espionage as well. Had you mentioned that the probe had detected M.A.N.T.I.S. or Octan probes or vessels (i.e., possible "spying" on other corp.) a few moments before the contact was lost - that would instantly added a tiny bit of exact "spying act" to the story.
