  1. Looks impressive Doc, well done!!!!! As we have learnt with our recent bridge building sessions, building on this scale presents many challenges due to size and weight. What can seem fairly straightforward or "easy" on a small scale changes dramatically as sizes increase. Even the faithful "rigid" technic bricks have a lot of flex in them which we both learnt first hand LOL. Again, well done. Good to see the bulk parts put to good use!!!
  2. So damn cool man!!! You've captured the overall shape brilliantly I reckon. Raise/lower mechanism in the tight space is very clever indeed. Now to add it to my collection..... :-D
  3. Outstanding, You really nailed the front end on the F100 Well done!!!!
  4. I just received my 8376 "Hot Flame" $60 on eBay AU Stoked!!! :-)
  5. There are a few themes missing, probably just updating the site, removing sold out items etc.
  6. Nice haul!!! I've had a couple of interesting gum tree lots that I picked up recently 1st lot was a big lot of city/Mars/star wars but I saw some technic in there. It contained a complete 8674 ferarri F1 and a 99% complete 10178 motorized AT-AT walker. I just finished selling off all of the random stuff so those 2 ended up in my collection for $0 (I actully ended up about $200 in front) 2nd lot was I big bunch of technic sets bagged up very roughly, about 30 in all. I kept about half and sold on the rest to recoup my $$$ but the bargain is what was thrown on top of the box because they couldn't be bothered listing it, a 8880 (99% complete) a 10177 Boeing 787 (90% complete) and 6211 imperial star destroyer (99% complete) for free..........!! :-D
  7. Holy crap that's awesome! Tough as!!!
  8. There is a page in the instructions that shows the chassis and front and rear axles perfectly aligned. If the gear racks are over to one side when you built it this may be a cause of the problem. If however you lined it all up nearly when building as per the instructions then I'm afraid you may have a servo issue. Some close up photos may help us here :-)
  9. Could be a dodgy servo, a few of us on this forum have had dodgy ones. If you contact lego they will send you a new one. They will need the serial number printed in the servo and may send you a paid postage satchel to send back the defective one (this happened to a guy in my LUG)
  10. Series 12 are at coles now too. A decent effort considering the last series they had before the Simpsons was series 7........
  11. It's a heap of fun to play with, it certainly has some speed!!!! I even got it sliding around on carpet LOL!!
  12. This is freakin awesome. Loving the details, well done!
  13. 9 : 4 19: 3 22: 3 31: 10 so many great entries, well done to all entrants!
  14. All the 2H sets are now available on the Australian S@H site. Typical though, I ordered the new mini and 42024 container truck the day before......
  15. Backed Such a great idea. Running a moc in a convention environment will be a lot easier and not being limited to 4 channels like the IR system is a big plus. I really hope it reaches it's funding goal and goes into production.
  16. That's more like it. Looks blue on my iphone As for the model Garbage..... Zero out of 10 :-P Kidding, I know where my vote is going :-)
  17. So awesome Doc!! Instantly recognizable as an Aussie icon Can't wait to see it in the flesh :-)
  18. Hi All, On the long weekend June 7-9 my LUG "Brisbricks" held their annual Pine Rivers Lego expo at Strathpine in Brisbane. so i dusted off the crawler course and set up for another busy long weekend. I learnt a lot from our first expo in october last year and made a number of changes/improvements, they are lowered the structure to a more kid friendly height, so instead of sitting on tables i set up the course on sturdy plastic crates that raise it up only 30cm from the ground. built a "see-saw" to add a bit of excitement piled up some pavers and rocks to make a high platform at the rear to drive over built a new Lego bridge that was about 6 studs wider than the previous one to make it a bit easier to drive over (doesn't look as cool as Doc-Brown's though) set up a queue system with entry and exit points with easy to follow signs. put up Lego set and MOC info posters on the wall near the entry. The layout I used this time made a more natural path so the kids drove the whole course without being shown. Up the ramp, across the Lego bridge and wood/rope bridge, down the ramp, over the see saw, across the green bumps, over the rock/paver pile, around the raised orange path and back to the logs at the front. Unfortunately Doc_brown couldn't make it this time so my wife, Emily and I ran it with 3 crawlers. This show was not as busy as the one last October so 3 crawlers was just enough, i hope you can make it to the october show Doc......... Massive thanks need to go to my wife, Emily, for helping me run the course for 3 days as well as setting up and packing up and to my LUG "Brisbricks" for supplying the batteries (235 AA's and 70 AAA's) I hope i got the kids and parents talking about the Technic theme, but most importantly i think the kids had a lot of fun playing on our course, i know i did... some photos Cheers Ben
  19. Non stop they go for about 1.5hrs before a noticeable drop in performance. The batteries were budget brand long life alkaline
  20. My first ever technic set after coming out of my lego dark age was 8070 supercar and i bought it specifically to build the B model hot rod which I personally think is much better than the A model, I modified it with round headlights though because the square ones just look silly :-P I just now finished the B model 8880 and, I know I will get a lot of flack for this, but I think it looks MUCH better than the A model...... Of course the functions are no where near as good as the A model but aesthetically I think the B model wins........
  21. I got 4 of these from rocklea bunnings in Brisbane (oxley sold out) Like you said, while stocks last. They were on a pallet display up the front of the shop. They are perfect for my technic parts, highly recommended :-)
  22. What a weapon!! More vids please :-)
