Steering idea for LEGO 76023 UCS TUMBLER

Just come up this idea. Not sure if it can really work as I don't get the Tumbler UCS yet. :) -
Anyone ever try my design of storing the M-motor in the side feet (in post #48)? Regrettably, I don't have this set yet and wonder if it can really make R2D2 move. :)
