    Bionicle 2016 Sets Discussion

I haven't seen any of those things pop up yet. Not that they won't, but I can't find any of that anywhere. As far as I'm aware, there's no knowledge whether just2good has BIONICLE information or not. (And why would he be "allowed" to release in September? Seems strange) EDIT: Besides the CMF14 release, that one has indeed shown up.

That would be news to me. If they're trying to keep things uncomplicated this time around, 30 elements seems counter-productive.

    Bionicle 2016 Sets Discussion

Might these new sets be combiners of some of the previous ones? I doubt it myself, since the Toa and Protector combo packs have numbers outside of the normal five-digit range. but still a possibility. Otherwise, dang! I can't see summer sets leaking this early, but I can't imagine they'd release two Umaraks (and another Ekimu) in winter, either. Consider my mind boggled. If these are for summer...I'm kinda glad it's not a theme of enemies (like the skullies).

    MOC: Toa Umbra

He says in the description that this Umbra has no relation to the canon one. I really like this guy. The color segments on the legs are rather strongly defined, but it sounds like there was little you could do about that. Very solid build. Agreed, great use of that part.

I almost never get duplicates, but I very well might grab two Bashers since he has four bone bones and four ancient armor add-ons. Love and need them. Currently only have MMvSG though.

    Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion

Unfortunately the Gen 2 "large" Toa are close to what was once Titan scale. So an actual BIONICLE titan set would be really big. Back on topic: the build for Vader looks really cool, but (ironically) that decreases the chance I'll get him. Have enough Technic in my collection for now, I need more CCBS parts for my money. Perhaps I'll pick him up eventually.

I hope so. Can only hold out on Warrior and Basher for so long. Not that I need a gold Skull mask, but since I'm getting into MOCing now, the more the merrier.

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

I feel like people forget or ignore this too often. In regards to "less developed storyline in Gen 2," my impression is (not a fact, but my impression) TLG went all-out on BIONICLE in it's early years because it was one of their last attempts to pull themselves from financial ruin. They had to invest a lot in BIONICLE in order to get maximum potential out of the line. Obviously it worked. Now TLG is an empire built on toys. They don't need to pour as many resources into the new BIONICLE to save themselves, so they don't. Maybe it lacks complexity, maybe it's not the BIONICLE we all remember, but that's ok. Reason why? Because if we prefer Gen 1, we can choose to care about that. It's not gone; whole websites are still dedicated to it. If we prefer Gen 2, we can choose to care about that. If you like BIONICLE but both official runs have little to your liking, make your own universe and story. We as humans are not limited by "reality" so we can twist and warp other people's stories as much as we want (provided we don't try to sell things, haha). Point is, there's so much for us to choose from, and we can all follow whichever storylines we want. (Sorry for rambling post. Not trying to attack or argue with anyone in particular, just expressing thoughts I've had for a while)

Yes it is, though "reasonable prices" is a matter of opinion. When I need a bunch of 3M bones and they're $0.36 each from BaP, I'll look other places.

He's not on the character page, I think you're referring to the Shop at Home page. However, that does not mean a reveal is imminent; I doubt there is. The earliest I predict we'll see an official reveal is at this year's NYCC in October (and I doubt even that). I could be wrong of course, but launching the summer wave just this month and revealing the next soon after does not seem logical.

They usually are. Unfortunately, separating CCBS into its own category (whether it was or not) wouldn't help the uninformed much. It's a shame because ordering parts through Bricklink is proving quite expensive. Of course, PaB prices are not cheap either, but I prefer to buy directly from TLG when prices are competitive.

No! I will never submit to the clone brands! All this talk about parts makes me wish CCBS was still in Pick-A-Brick...

Not gonna lie, I stole Kulta's eyestalk to try on Pohatu. Made me way too giddy. Anyway: am I the only one who does not want colors to change for the Toa? Gali, Lewa, and Pohatu all use new colors this year but in a measly one shell size each. I'd like to expand the number of shells produced in each of those colors before the Toa undergo a color change. I'm all for different colors on the creatures, though. We're gonna want tan shells in smaller sizes than 6M once the Star Wars line releases in a week and a half.

I'll admit, Nekchir's "leak" was far more plausible than the preceding one. But that doesn't make it ok. Obviously a lot of community members have been upset by this and the others, so hopefully no one will do it again. I vote we wait for pictures from now on.

If you're willing now, I am curious about this one: As well as, can you tell if the gearboxes are in any of them? I've been musing whether they were a first-wave throwback or something here to stay.

That doesn't surprise me much; it seemed too organic for the Toa (I say that loosely because we don't quite know how organic they are anyway, though I'm guessing not much, similar to Gen 1). Thanks for the info, and don't feel bad for not releasing all the information. I'd rather a steady trickle than a bursting dam anyway.

    1. Yes 2. Yes 3. Yes 4. Ok 5. Yes 6. Yes 7. Yes 8. Yes To add a more constructive comment, as impressed as I was by this year's winter wave (the best constraction release TLG has ever done IMO, and thereby the best BIONICLE figures), it sounds like these guys are going to blow them away. Very, very excited. If anyone can find the hype train from last year that we lost because it was moving too fast, I'll gladly board again.

Tell us all the things Kidding, of course. It's not only interesting that Umarak has a cape, but it's cool. I'm looking forward to him a lot, hoping he doesn't disappoint.

Too many metallics has not only been a problem for color schemes (in some cases) but it also prevents us from getting parts in more "elemental" colors, which I would love to have happen. So yes. I feel like the 2.0 feet have to be oversized to make the figures easier for everyone to balance. Yes, smaller feet would be possible to use for posing, but not everyone wants to put in that much effort. At least the Toa are better sized in comparison; some of the HF figures were rather short yet still had the 2.0 feet. As for the hands, I like them much better than the Glatorian hands. More fingers, and a thumb that doesn't look like it's eating the middle finger. Would it be nice if they were produced in more distinct left and right varieties? Sure. But I won't complain. At least they're not oven mitts. I have a feeling the new head was designed to stay, at least for BIONICLE. If all the Gen 2 masks ever made are designed to fit this head, I will be a happy camper. Yes to all these.

Of the three so far this wave, I would definitely say it's the best. Also it's good to have the drained masks explained now.

Largest possible? I highly doubt it. Largest TLG will produce? Probably. They both look taller than any titan builds I remember from Gen 1, so it's certainly not a bad thing.

Wokmot, The Eternally Angry Bug God

Dang, this guy has a lot of character! Very nice build! My only critique is that I don't like how the fingers/claws/etc are mounted on the inside edges of his hands; the outside edges might make more sense.

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

Not just that it's an old mold, but that anyone who has bought the first wave sets already have several or a dozen of that mask (maybe even more). There's basically no need for anyone to get a fifth silver skull spider. Statistically, no. That said, it is interesting that the report correlates with what the community generally thought about the sets since images were revealed (that Scorpio and Sliver were the worst).

    2016 Action Figure Wishlist

Any reason why? I prefer gunmetal over silver, myself. But onto the next point: It is interesting that metallics are infinitely more common than they used to be. They dominated the Mistika to an extent and were even primary colors for some Hero Factory characters (Bulk and Rocka IIRC). I would say it's not inherently a bad thing. But considering the designers of the Toa Okoto tried to emulate the Mata, the amount of metallic colors is off-putting. Would have been a good chance to get normally metallic parts in elemental colors. I don't see that happening next year, unfortunately.

    Bionicle 2015 Discussion

Oh please no. It annoys me that three years of story in Gen 1 led up to a "simple game of Kohlii..." Ah well. Though it wouldn't be as bad this time around, since 1) Ekimu wasn't introduced as a Hammer Flush player and 2) it's gotta look cooler than throwing a ball of protodermis.
