Lego's official Lord of the Rings site. Which comes up 4th on the results when searching for "lord of the rings toys" and 6th when searching for just "Lord of the Rings" By the way, from reading so many reviews... I see so many people complaining that Lego gave Gandalf a simple staff... ... they should simply look at this book's cover (my actual book bought in the 90s has this cover) As you can see, very simple staff, apart from the tiny light coming from the tip end.

Here's a nice little discovery I made with google: Google "Lord of the Rings toys" and see what comes up 4th position. Better yet, just google "Lord of the Rings" and see what comes up 6th !!!

My local Walmart had four: Gandalf, Shelob, Uruk-Hai army, and Weathertop. Bought Gandalf and Shelob, almost bought Uruk-Hai, and I refuse to buy Weathertop at that ridiculous $75 price tag. Toys R Us Canada still doesn't have any LOTR sets.

Here is my first LOTR creation: Frodo's wooden race car! Consists only of parts from one 9469 set. Back when they were even smaller hobbits, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin would construct wooden cars to pass the time. Then they would race each other down a steep hill, only to crash into some tree or big rock and eventually having to rebuild their cars over and over again. A great way to deliver those fresh turnips across Hobbiton! Sorry for the poor quality, I only have a crummy Quickcam at the moment. I used most of the cart's pieces; only 8 remain. (.. plus Gandalf and the horse)

Yup, and that's a Turnip in there! Obviously, the carrot that came in the set was too tall, so I had to get creative... Someone on the BrickLink forum came up with the perfect caption: "Screw that walking to Mordor crap, we're riding in style... "

Thanks. Took me about 20 minutes

Thanks! For more of my ridiculously tiny and 'cute' MOCs... see the Castle/Lord of the Rings forum, "Frodo's Wooden Race Car"

Which Lego LOTR Character is your favorite?
SheepEater replied to Aragorn8713's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Saruman, Eowyn, Galadriel, Elrond, old Bilbo, Arwen, Wormtongue, and Gothmog! (the uber-ugly orc general of Part 3) Seriously though, they're all awesome. Lego went all out with this. -

Two New TECHNIC Connectors (with 9468 Set)
SheepEater replied to DLuders's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
So many times new lego TECHNIC elements fall under the radar because they aren't included in any actual Technic sets... -
You're welcome. Yeah, no kidding. Especially when compared to... http://www.thedailybrick.co.uk/wp/gallery/lego-friends-summer-2012-sets/lego-friends-3184-adventure-rv.jpg

I was browsing at Brickshelf and found some pics of Lego clone brands. In an alternate reality, this is how Friends might have turned out if Lego stuck with minifigs and went for a more Princess-ey Belville design. Those designs must be original since they don't look like any Paradisa or Belville sets I have seen.

Technic + Castle! Awesome

What are the best Technic+City MOCs around?
SheepEater posted a topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
What are your favorite MOCs that best combine the Technic and Town/City themes? They are far less common than pure technic or pure town. They tend do be either of these two: - Large minifig scaled technic creations (I've seen quite a few crawler cranes like this over the years - the 8288 could also be considered minifig scale) - Incorporation of mechanics in town/train layouts and buildings. -

Review: 9474 The Battle of Helm's Deep
SheepEater replied to Lego Otaku's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's Haldir, not Legolas. Legolas is exclusive to the Mines of Moria set. Otherwise, I fully agree with your post. By the way, as some people said, this is arguably the largest castle Lego has produced. I don't know, but I am most definitely certain that this is the first Lego castle to contain not one, but TWO kings in it. -
