    Wizarding World 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Those commenting about the lack of clocktower and rear courtyard, could it be that this area is based on the castle as it appeared in CoS? For example the location of the Womping Willow and the greenhouses. The tower, courtyard, enclosed bridge and wooden bridge were only added from PoA onwards. Everything else though generally matches the physical model from HBP (Great Hall clock and courtyard as added in GOF, astronomy tower and training grounds towers as changed in HBP), but without the changes made in DH2 (larger entrance courtyard, second viaduct, new boathouse).
  2. (This is my first time working with LDD (away from my bricks ) so hopefully this all goes smoothly!) May I present my entry to the Eurobricks Miniland Contest - the 2011 Seat Mii! The lxf file: http://bricksafe.com...nn///Model2.lxf More images: https://www.flickr.c...157643474334573

    REVIEW: 21012 Sydney Opera House

Actually if you really wanted to remove the black marks use two of the tan 2x2 jumper plates instead of the turntables. They work on the same principle just anchor it in a different place. Great review! Definitely adding it to the list since cunning parts usage means I can't build it from my collection (alla Burj Khalifa)
  5. Actually I'm pretty sure all the used bricks get melted down and made into shiny new bricks again; sure I read that somewhere. Anyway I'm sure it still is an awful sight...

    Modular Madness: The Old Theatre

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone! Looking forward to seeing some more entries :) IIRC, all the legs are plain grey, the torsos are AT-ST driver and Spalko torsos with the arms on backwards. The hairs and hats are grey naturally, and the faces are zombie and Vader heads on backwards. So no modifing here! (apart from moving arms ;) )

    New Mannum 2012

I assume he meeant that based on the floor plan there is no way figs can walk round to the far shelf as the lower one blocks the way Great series of MOCs btw! These look like they'd with with the 'Town Plan' style buildings really well :)

    Legoland Shop Question

I don't know about LEGOLAND Cal but here at Windsor the sets are priced at the same level as those on S@H, and it isn't even run "officially" by LEGO However, if a set is discounted on the website, don't expect it to also be cheaper in the shop. Exclusive items only available in the park will be more expensive than what they would cost on the internet. I wouldn't expect that set to be any dearer in the shop.

    Modular Madness: The Old Theatre

B-OM-22C Before I post my entry, may I first just share my gratitude for the Eurobrick staff for changing the entry requirments for this contest. I had the idea for a modualr theatre about a month ago, but due to the large nature of the project kept putting it off and off. When I heard about this entry, however, I knew now was the time to build it, even if it was not a legitimate entry. Now that it is eligible, however, it is a great bonus :D Anyway, enough waffle. May I present: The Old Theatre! Apologies for the really poor cropping; my setup is not ideal :P Anyway, here is the profile shot of the theatre. I chose a white, dark tan and sand green colour scheme because they complement well and haven't been seen on a modular for a while (I designed this as if it were to be included in the current line. Here I've taken the 4 floors apart. In order to resemble the style of Victorian Theatres, it was important to have high ceilings. This meant I quickly ran out of sand green (hence the light blue stripe!). Thematically it helps differentiate the backstage areas from the front of house. Here is a shot of the inside of the set (the back wall hinges out for the lower two floors). There wasn't enough room to include all the details I wanted, so the typical fly tower is replaced by some modern lift contraption that goes from the carpenters office down to the stage floor. Infact, talking of running out of room, all the steps and walkways are 3 wide (normally they would be at least 4 on a modular) in order to increase the available floor space and portray a theatre's cramped backstage area. Here's a shot of the figures that would go with the set. No new parts and I tried to use fairly common or new parts. From left to right they are: The Producer; The Actor; The Audience; The Carpenter; The Actress; The Ticket Collector. Anyway, thanks for having a look at my entry and my ramblings! Please feel free to add any comments as I'm always looking for new ideas, however I will be away for some time so won't be able to make any major adjustments before the deadline (hence why I am a bit early!) Browse the whole gallery of photos at my gallery Good luck to everyone in all the categories and thanks again for such a fantastic contest!

    RAM Restaurant and Brewery

Fantastic model - I followed this one on Flickr with great delight! One question though - surely using 1X2 bricks for the roof instead of 1X4 would have been more stable and easier to bend? Or does it become too weak? Anyway keep up the great work

REFERENCE Dusting Lego displays and layouts

I have two brushes: 1 is a light fluffy brush (probably for makeup) that I use to wipe 'fresher' dust from models. It works best for tiles. The other brush is a much stiffer one that I used to use for painting; this is really good for getting around all the studs on exposed plates. The best method, though, is to was the bricks if you know you are going to keep the model out on display for a long while. Dust builds up at the joins of plates and bricks which cannot be brushed away, and from experience I know if you leave it for a few years you will never get rid of it!

    6862 Superman vs. Power-Armor Lex

Fantastic review and a great set! (Un)fortunately mine came missing a few of the black and grey plates; instead I got around 10 of the 2x3 purple plates to make up the weight. Definitely not complaining ;)

    MOC: Nemo

This is great! The way you've done the fins really add a lot of movement to the model! One question though, is it red or orange? Its a little hard to tell from the pics (at least on my computer) :)

    Acklay - Petranaki-Arena

That Acklay is fantastic!! But for the arena, what made you consider the dark orange over the more typical tan?
